US President Barack Obama : YES WE CAN!

President Barack Obama and Vice President elect Joe Biden
Photos by AP and CNN

See the blue states here that went all the way for President Barack Obama in the elections, no wonder he overwhelmingly won the elections! I was a skeptic this morning because when I was running on my treadmill, there were about 3 states being counted and it was showing McCain on the lead. I together with about 6 CNN anchors were asking "we never saw it this close". Then again, when I went home and had my bowl of oatmeal the results from other states came in and NEVER did I see McCain lead again. The CNN reporters even did analyze known Republican states were swinging to Obama at that time.

Since he already passed 270 (the magic number you need to win) they went ahead and celebrated in Chicago. There were about 125,00 supporters that frolicked a slightly cold evening in the windy city. Even Rev. Jessie Jackson was there to celebrate. Though the mood was ecstatic, when the speech came... it looked like Obama was calming everyone down instead of celebrating... I thought about that too... peoples expectations might have been a little too high. They need everyone's help in working for that "CHANGE" he promised in day 1 of his campaigns. I just wished he also mentioned Asia... I never heard him mention it in any of his speeches... to think he's even from Indonesia you know?! and btw, his middle name is Hussein I think... =/

Obama wins by a large margin, he only needed 270 to win but it looks like a whopping 338 here! ^_^ He is the first African American President of the United States of America

It's JUDGEMENT DAY! The US Elections 2008

Tuesday, November 04, 2008

Obama votes early (an hour and a half ago while I was making this post) and we all hope he gets the worm Lol

Today is the US elections where everyone is watching who will win the seat for the most big boned influential country in the world. I am still rooting for Obama, but McCain was pushing for an upset when I watched his political campaigns yesterday in CNN. Yeah I know I was busy trying to get some sleep because I had about 5 hours only that day. I still managed to get on the tube and listen to their last strategies on states that are undecided. McCain went for those states but Obama on the other hand went onto those that are known republican territories. A new strategy huh?!

Not only that, Obama was tired I think and called that place a different one... I guess fatigue and traveling different counties in the last 48 hours have caught up to him. I hope after he votes today he just sits back at home and relax, then just wait for the results which would probably be counted in a few hours.

By the way, there are some that say Obama should have gone to the funeral of Jennifer Hudson's family. Yeah she's from the same City that Obama resides, tough they probably have understood the campaign is at its end and I mean why should he go there if Oprah and the rest of Hollywood already are there. Early data already indicates Obama winning but there are some undecided states they still have to battle for. You need 270 to win the election and I suppose every poll say Obama has the upper hand. Here's a non official forecast:

I'm sure if he had the chance he would have come. Goodluck in Florida! ^_^

LAST WEEK BEFORE THE US ELECTIONS

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Last call for the last week!
The disgruntled faces seen here are from donkeydish.com ^_^

I and countless people around the world awaits Uncle Sam to decide who'll win in the up coming elections. The impact of votes by Americans will greatly affect the economical and political conditions around the globe. The issue over economy has been deliberated over and over again and I'm not discounting the fact that this is really a BIG thing to be concerned with... though there are other ones that should have been dealt with so these repercussion and preposterous results do not happen. Large percentages are already lost and they should have invested more time in business confidence rather than bailing out banks. I think people really didn't know how this started... but really because of a few greedy people (which comprised of board members of these banks) that had GIGANTIC amounts of bonuses and living "la vida loca" today, the whole economy of the US is at stake. They earned a lot but since the credit and lending became too volatile when they left it, a recession is about to occur. This is what is at the drawing table both on McCain and Obama's camps... if a miracle happened, then this would not be a problem anymore for millions who invested in the US economy.

Seems to me that Obama is leading. Last time I read the news, almost 8 states that were originally solid for Bush went to the side of Obama. This is a huge mistake on McCain for not maintaining these states where electorates were even high. I'm so sorry but I think Obama is gonna be the first black president. You can probably quote me on this a day before if the double digit lead doesn't change lolz! McCain still however has a week left to change these undecided votes to his camp.. but did you see the CNN debate where Obama still fared better among neutral voters at that time? Most probably, it won't be a showdown on the 4th of November. It would be a massacre!

DANCE IT OFF! ^_^

The Final Debate : Obama VS McCain

Friday, October 17, 2008

They go separate ways after 16 days...US Elections getting bigger by the minute!

It's officially 16 days before people in the US decide who leads the most powerful nation on earth (i think!) and have I been impressed? Ahm... not exactly. I watched the last debate about the US economy. The run I made in the treadmill in the gym seems long, I see lots of talk... and their plans? I just wish those work out... they've got nowhere else to go and no choice between the lesser of the two evils (lolz pardon the language, just jokin!)... I know people who think that way though.

I don't get the fuzz about Joe the plumber though... well, he's like the modern day american who would get his standard of living affected in the change on the tax structure the US is trying to implement together with the bailout package. He and the middle class people in the US who try so hard to make a living and now face poverty in the midst of the crisis. I just hope he doesn't get to conditions in the Philippines where IF you say you are POOR, you won't get a decent meal 3x a day... well that, or no meal at all. In the debate, I saw McCain leading in papers. But charisma should play a big role in this campaign... his composure helped this senator Obama (from Illinois) a lot... substance is okay, but anybody would be afraid about this showing, McCain might not win this one IMHO...

I and about billions of people around the world will just wait who to call Mr. President in a couple of days. The Red states are getting bluer and bluer by the minute. While McCain tries to get the Red states stay Red... a lot are at's stake in this election. Colin Powell btw just recently endorsed Obama. This election will not just affect the US, it will have an impact on the rest of the globe. Filipinos included! ^_^

Who do you think will win after hearing em this last debate? How about the election? ^_^ Thanks for your comments!

The Obama - McCain Presidential Debate

Thursday, October 09, 2008

Buddies Obama and McCain =) Lolz!

Obama's and McCains... who do you think won this debate? =)
(Photos by AP and Reuters)

I and about millions of people around the world watched the debate of Senator Obama from Illinois and Senator McCain from Florida. I was at the gym (Fitness First), lifting weights and running around as usual... apart from trying to keep my tummy smaller, I watched how these two punch themselves with issues at hand. Everybody wanted to hear their plans about the economy. The analysts from CNN did not leave them alone one bit, while everybody else had their own opinion on the matter and how McCain should deal with this face off... as they say, he's the one who would want to gain from this.

Did he succeed? According to the polls there, he didn't! and in my books he did not gain anything from doing that debate. You know the feeling of having a traditional politician telling you his plans? (it sounded like a tape recorder) and like when he tried to approach that ol' guy in the stands it was not really sincere as I've seen it... (he asked about what they would do to retired people to keep their homes while facing the economic crisis) it was even like "scripted" for him... maybe choosing his own words was dangerous for him as it became insincere. I bet yah he didn't do well in the ratings... I saw those squiggly lines off the debate and it ranged higher when Obama spoke to the public. He on the other hand was calm and collected, I guess confidence was his key.

By more than a 2-1 margin, 65 percent to 28 percent, more people said they found Obama more likable than McCain during the debate. The discussion of an energy bill McCain offered up a two-word phrase that drew a quick reaction from the Obama camp: "You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one," McCain said, pointing to the Senator from Illinois. I think that part was uncalled for and somewhat a little bit personally offensive.

Who do you think won it? Keep em comments coming!

Bailout Approved and Signed : Now We'll Wait!

Sunday, October 05, 2008

President Bush shakes hands with Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson at the Treasury Department in Washington after the House passed the $700 billion financial bailout bill

N
ow that Congress has acted upon this particular issue giving the US government the tools necessary to bring some stability into the marketplace, the wait begins for it's effect. Bush stated that without this, the country would have crashed their market placing not just them but the whole world in chaos. Being the largest that they are, most probably that will happen if it were not for this resolution.

Obama and McCain even got their act going and helped in this financial crisis. That's American enough! I mean its a good thing they did it, it was fair enough for both ends. Now Americans can be assured that their hard earned taxes are put to good use because their package included safety measures that would make sure everything gets accounted for. Some are afraid that only a chosen few businesses might earn with this and would not benefit the American public. John Boehner of Ohio said lawmakers knew that if they failed to act, the crisis probably would worsen and "put us in a slump the likes of which most of us have never seen", I guess nobody would wanna see that huh?! This bailout ensures federally insured deposits to rise from the original $100,000 to $250,000 making the ceiling value more viable for adjustments. America must take note of 33 Democrats and 25 Republicans switched from opposition to support which helped pass this bill which were conferenced call and persuaded by Obama and probably McCain as well. They even had groupies in the house, that comes with the newbies too. I just don't know if this will be a legacy BUSH will be proud of.

The Biden - Palin Vice Presidential Debate ; Aftermath

Friday, October 03, 2008

Biden and Palin shake it away with all that teeth!

Well after four scores and a few years ago, there has not been any Vice Presidential debates on the tube. I was one of the millions of people who stood by the gym [Hiya Fitness First! (^_^) ] and watched the Biden - Palin head to head combat a while ago and one thing for sure happened, I kinda noticed people changed minds over Palin.

I like that part where she said, "CAN I CALL YOU JOE!?" lolz..

Of course Biden won this overwhelmingly, he stood by attacks to McCain instead of Palin directly (well yeah because he might have thought that would be a better choice to bash who!) and you know what happened? Palin also painstakingly attacked Obama's platforms as well. Something similar but not quite, Biden has proven his point and clearly won this round. The deal with Palin though is that she really exceeded expectations, not just of her own party but of the Democrats as well. I'm not saying the said expectations were HIGH... I'm just saying that some people said things before hand but they somewhat thought she had something to put on the table after this debate. The inexperience showed, but the charm may have had wonders for her. Iraq and the economy was mostly what was talked about... they sought to murder McCain and Obama's plan of action. In my honest opinion, nobody succeeded. Sen. Joe Biden even gave restraint in his performance on Thursday night's vice presidential debate (he could have done more but maybe he thought he did not need to), while Gov. Sarah Palin tried so hard show that her accomplishments as governor and mayor prove she is qualified for the job. I hope this turns out to be a close fight between the Republicans and Democrats come the day of election. US really is one example of a working democracy. How I wish politics at home turn out this way also, stick to politics and get real (not to undermine not making it a business!).

9/11: Done in Silence

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Horrific image of the aftermath of 9/11. Still no sign of Bin Laden. (-_-)"

Tragedies that affected the most powerful nation in the world is a real headline today. Thousands of people affected by these terror and terrorists alike mark the 7th anniversary of September 11 in the US and around the world. President Bush led a White House gathering Thursday in observing a moment of silence. Wife Laura, and Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne stand side by side while a moment of silence was dedicated to the victims and their families. Church bells peeled and was observed at 8:46 a.m. EDT, precisely the moment on that fateful day when terrorists crashed a hijacked airplane into the World Trade Center in New York. A second plane struck the trade center moments later. Another was flown into the Pentagon and still another crashed in a field at Shanksville, Pa. A chorus sang "God Bless America." The assembled crowd numbered in the hundreds and included leaders of Congress, members of the Cabinet, diplomats, men and women in military uniform and chefs, plumbers, ushers and others who work at the White House. A new memorial at the Pentagon was dedicated as the names of the victims were read aloud to mourners there. They all cried. T_T

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama called on Americans to renew "that spirit of service and that sense of common purpose".
With 54 days left in the heated presidential campaign, Thursday was unusual — a sort of political cease-fire in honor of the day terrorists forced four airplanes into the World Trade Center towers in New York City, a field in Shanksville, Pa., and the Pentagon in Washington. Obama and his rival for the presidency, Republican John McCain, were to appear together twice, although briefly each time and mostly without public words. They also agreed to suspend all TV ads critical of each other. In the afternoon, in New York, Obama and McCain were to visit ground zero together for a somber, silent wreath-laying in the pit that marks the largest loss of life in the attacks. How nice of them to do that! ^_^

In the Philippines, short moments of silence were done in the embassy with Ambassador Christy Kenny. I on the other hand just blogged about it because I of all people would never want this to be forgotten. I hope you won't too...

OBAMA - BIDEN, McCAIN - PALIN ; Who will win? ----m(O_O)m---

Will it be Obama and Biden?

Or McCain and Palin? You choose!

H
ere's my 2 cents on the candidates for the US Presidential race... between the Democrats and the Republicans I will put my chips on the Democrats... Obama and Biden had the most comprehensive and complete package AFAIK. Obama getting internal country matters taken cared of with Biden getting the job with his large experience on foreign policy. Popularity wise they are ahead of the pack. We call people like McCain traditional politicians (TRAPO) here locally. Trapo means "rag" btw and is a monicker given to old politicians that stayed too long in the government... it also may or may not be good to be associated with the current regime of current President George Bush...it is also not a good term to be stricken with.

McCain also chose an inexperienced running mate that knows 0% on foreign policies and can affect the outlook on their party. I just hope women votes from the undecided Hillary Clinton supporters would go her way. That's a big IF btw.

With the recent developments on Hillary's speech during the Democratic convention that pushed for the support on Obama's candidacy, it's more likely that they (including hispanics, other ethnic groups) would still stick to Democrats... But they will be given the hard task of getting these undecided ones on their side. It is hard because Obama of course had given his remarks on Hillary previously that may be well detremental to his ticket. McCain in the upcoming Republican Convention would take advantage of this and try to woo Hillary supporters to his side. With all that and Oprah, I'd say I will still put my 2 cents on Obama and the Democratic Party. Watch the African American guy get to the Whitehouse come election day.
