It's been a while since I've been to Robinson's Magnolia. I wanted to check out new places there and with a struck of luck I've stumbled upon 2 restaurants on the back end of the mall. It's Clawdaddy and New Orleans; my first time here and it was a treat seeing lots of things that I never thought would be available right in my neighborhood. Pretty neat stuff!
Clawdaddy's Great American Picnic
Clawdaddy has been around for a few years. I was able to visit their other stores in Davao at the Clawdaddy's Great American Picnic SM Lanang Premier, Bonifacio High Street and Nuvali but never knew that they would open up branch in Robinsons Magnolia. Their menu consists of mostly Cajun and Southern elements and their execution is authentic. I love their clam chowder and ribs so that's what I ordered that evening. It's my comfort food actually and I really love the spice base in this americana region. Photos from my iPhone5 don't do justice but you get a pretty decent view no?
To make amends, here's a short video on this nice chunk of meat which is one of their best sellers!
You just have to go there and taste it! Other than that you can also drop by the other section of their store called New Orleans. I think they are managed by one restaurant group so it's really nice you get to see these guys give you a taste of both establishments without moving around. It's all there!
New Orleans
As the name suggests they want you to have the experience of how it is to party in this part of the US. Entertainment wise, they have a band playing almost every night. Plus some other forms of entertainment you won't really expect from a regular restaurant. Case in point, here goes our drinks and table staples!
For those who want a nightcap or some place to spend their weekend nights, New Orleans opens its doors for you at the back of Robinson's Magnolia. The back entrance is actually open until the wee hours of the morning so if you want some place to celebrate with your officemates and friends, try and visit their place, after all you owe it to yourself after a hard days work!
For frozen margarita lovers, you'll actually have a freakin good time with this concoction! Imagine massive servings of your favorite variant on this gigantic glass. This is what they call the MEGARITA.
Take a look at my friend's hand while he enjoys this one. He's a guy and with his huge hand, the glass evenly dwarfs it. You might think this is expensive but check out the price...
It's only 299 and could last you the whole night. This is bang for the buck and I suggest you grab one of these if you happen to pass by their branch soon. Or if you prefer the other ones that are on pretty neat medical grade flasks and test tubes, it's this affordable too!
After a couple of rounds of these MEGARITA'S we were treated to another show. The actual servers and staff of the restaurant changed their clothes and came up the back door.
They had several numbers to the delight of the crowd (mostly men hehe) then in between their bartenders went up on front and did some flair performances.
For those want an absolutely fun night with booze, great food and entertainment just drop by New Orleans at the new Robinson's Magnolia mall in Aurora Boulevard corner Hemady Street. They've got some of the best Chicharones, Sisig, Fritters in town too. It won't hurt to have fun every once in a while and experience something different at the heart of Quezon City. Make sure you try New Orleans soon!
