You guys pretty much know by now that I've been so happy the week when I was in Boracay. Part of the reason why was because I got the chance to stay in front of White Beach at famous Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel. Well, the fun never stops because as soon as morning broke out, we got to enjoy great food as part of our breakfast perks in the hotel courtesy of dreamy Don Vito Ristorante Italiano!
Situated at the left front side of Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel, it's the easiest place to be in to grab a cup of coffee or enjoy brunch for all the right reasons. Starting off with the basics, and finishing off with some of the best the island offers; Don Vito Ristorante Italiano just makes your morning a pleasurable one with their buffet! Ours came with the hotel stay but you can always shell out for what you're about to see. The choices alone in the morning can tell you what you'll have for lunch and dinner, but since they are a full pledged Italian restaurant you can order ala carte for other things that are not in the buffet. It's a free country! =)
Hearty porridge or Arroz Caldo still hot off the pot, plus add ons like toasted garlic, chives, soy sauce and local calamansi. It's my favorite, like a canvas where you choose how intense flavors would be.
I also had corn flakes with fresh Milk that morning. Pretty neat they offer alternatives like Cocoa Flakes if kids want more energy boost that they prolly need throughout the day :)
Cheese, cheese and cheese plus creamy butter with your favorite crusty bread and a cup of coffee, doesn't that sound like a good breakfast? =)
Oven roasted veggies. I had a couple of rounds of these and don't ask me why. It's just a good thing to have because its sweeter, a sprinkle of a little salt had me close my eyes. It was nice!
I admit pairing this up. Yang Chow Fried Rice, Crispy Danggit and Atchara. The salty, sour thing works for me. But really, danggit is danggit... you can't argue with that haha!
Fluffy mini pancakes with maple syrup, for those who want it classy with a dab of butter. Had lots of these too! I had second and third rounds.
These Croquettes are so good and by far was my favorite in the spread. It's crunchy exterior and buttery, creamy potato filling was just something I had to have after all that diet in Manila.
Breakfast and Filipino dish mainstays like Pansit Canton, Tocino, Bacon and Corned Beef just proves how mixed the people here can enjoy Don Vito's choices.
Another one of the things I enjoyed is this Black Pepper Chicken. It had that right amount of salt and spice that the meat actually tastes quite savory. It fell off the bone too so I was really loving this!
Then we got a few glasses of Orange Juice and Mango Juice to hose it all down. I also had a cup of chocolate to calm me down afterwards.
I also enjoyed the fruits which they served fresh and cold.
I also spent some time in the salad section because they prepared dressings of different types. You can enjoy the fresh veggies in different ways.
Don Vito Ristorante Italiano can seat around 50-60 people at one go. They have al fresco seats outside for those who choose to enjoy the breeze or smoke if permitted. But really, wouldn't you want to enjoy the cold air at night with a beer or wine bottle on your table? =) Yes, they have one of the most extensive array of wines from all around the world. I suggest you get the Chilean which perfectly match fresh seafood from the island. You're there to enjoy anyway! =)
The food establishment perfectly complements what they have in the hotel. Best of all, it's not that expensive if you compare it with the other food establishments in the area. Who would even complain if you're getting real deal Italian comfort food and more right there on the beach? If you are in the area or also checked in at Station 2, ask the friendly people of Boracay Mandarin Island Hotel and I'm sure they'll point you to Don Vito Ristorante Italiano.
Also, for a more relaxing experience in Boracay... check out the Mandarin Spa right beside the restaurant because it's one of the most authentic places to have the famed traditional Filipino massage called "HILOT" that's said to restore balance in the body. It's been used in the Philippines for holistic treatments for hundreds of years. You can ask any local for it's authenticity. Ask for their packages because they've got some of the best the island has to offer. You can literally spend hours on this joint alone. Don't hesitate to ask the spa's front desk if you fancy one of the most peaceful places you can have these treatments and packages in the majestic island of Boracay!
