Ampatuan Cleared of Rebellion?! WT*?!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

I want to break free from the cycle I am stuck on right now. I am not doing my best going to the gym lately. I think I have been a little too tired from work and just decide to go back home and sleep instead of at least running a bit to reduce stress. I don't know why. I guess it's because of the schedule. I think I'm not used to becoming a day walker LOL.

We have some things in the office I need to take care of and some which I need to help my peers so we could do a project efficiently. I was not much of a team player before but I think I am doing a pretty darn good job lately. Just look at me now, I am in the office 2 hours early LOL... well I can't sleep at home so I decided to just go to the office instead so I can do something fruitful.

Today, I have heard the AMPATUAN's won their case of rebellion against the Philippines. I hate it... it looks like we are all losing faith in the justice system huh!? Supreme Court clears though that they won't get away killing 57 journalists still.... but you know, I still feel they did something wrong... please forgive me to wish someone to die after that. =(

In the News from Where I am

Thursday, January 14, 2010

There were around 2000 families displaced from a fire in Paco Manila. It was where I shot the photo above. I kinda am sad today because of that. =(

Mayon Volcano alert is now down to 2. A lot of the people from evacuation centers returned to their homes. I just hope they have something to return to.

The RFID sold by LTO is now being sought for recall and refunds. Graft and corruption charges were filed today. I wonder where the money for that went.

The older and younger Ampatuan were pointed to as masterminds in the killing of 57-200 journalists. Now who will write that story if they are all dead. I hope bloggers are not next! LOL

Sugar prices increased to 50 pesos per kilogram. I still remember selling drinks when I was a kid and I only bought a kilo for around 20 bucks or less. Just don't ask me how long ago that was because you will get an idea about my age.

4 Peace keepers from the Philippines are still under the rubble as indicated in the latest news. I am now confused who to believe because yesterday they said no one was hurt. No communication still from Haiti people.

List of official candidates will be brought out today. I wonder how those who will not be in the list would feel. Specially those who were asked to be stricken from it a couple of weeks ago.

Partial solar eclipse will be seen in the Philippines tomorrow. How soon can we hope for a sunshine after all these rain of problems we have! Have faith! Have faith!

Not Guilty?! Oh Come On!

COW

Andal Ampatuan Jr. just entered a 'not guilty plea' for the 41 counts of murder in the Maguindanao massacre case.
Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes started around 8:30 AM in the Police Non-Commissioned Officers' Clubhouse inside Camp Crame that housed the temporary courthouse.

He sported jeans and a pink tshirt with corresponding handcuffs that was really nice to see with Ampatuan while he was being escorted by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents. There was a sudden photo-op for members of media before they were escorted out. I watched this all in ANC. Asst. Chief State Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon headed the team for the government and public prosecutor while well known paid Atty. Sigfrid Fortun stood for Ampatuan’s defense.

First on the table was to have the Department of Justice (DOJ) explain why Ampatuan needed to appear and be on the preliminary investigation where a couple of photographers and newsmen hit him on his face with cameras.
Judge Solis-Reyes gave DOJ 3 days to explain. Aside from this, there will be a hearing for the petition for bail of Ampatuan. Fortun said he will make a preliminary conference so they can agree on the evidence that will be presented in the hopes of a speedy case. Fadullon however resisted and said that the 'petition for bail' was the only thing that was discussed in that particular hearing. Judge Solis-Reyes instructed the prosecution to limit the number of witnesses since there are around 12 for the bail hearing. Around 9:30AM Atty. Ric Diaz of the NBI was adjudged witness that will be cross-examined by Fortun because he said that his testimony would only be irrelevant. Diaz heads the Anti-Terrorism Division of the NBI and he was the first one to get there on the day of the massacre.
University of the Philippines (UP)Professor Atty. Harry Roque also added that Ampatuan should be in the Quezon City Jail, as it was also noted by Judge Solis-Reyes. The next hearing will be on January 13 at 8:30AM and I just hope he goes straight to Muntinlupa instead.
