KPOP Group FameUs and Asha Set to Perform in Manila

It looks like the KPOP fever is taking Manila by storm as the newest KPOP sensations from Korea FameUs and Asha are set to perform on September 18, 2015 at the Ynares Sports Complex at Shaw Boulevard in Pasig City. They will also be doing a second show on October 2, 2015 at SMX in Davao City. Their concerts are organized by the Zoomanity Group from the Yupangco Group of Companies, Yupangco Exhibits and Shows aka Y.E.S. and Redstone Media Productions.

 For those who don't know, FameUs is a six piece boy group that's got good looks, and great singing voices. Their members are Han Saem (Seo Han Saem), Jung Hoon (Choi Jung Hoon), Do A/Doah, Kudo, Daeyoung and Hanyoung. They've been here in the country a couple of times not just to perform, but to do charity work indigenous aeta tribes, children with cancer and others. Through their visits last February and April, they went to different communities to share their blessings and provide inspiration to countless Filipino youth. Mind you, they were just formed late last year and feel that it should be a part of their mission not just to provide entertainment, but also help communities, kids, with special needs. They've already gotten a big following in the past few months and this concert is just the opportune time to get to know them while they're here in Manila.

ASHA on the other hand released a few months ago their newest music video "Mr. Liar". They've gotten really good reviews with their very inventive approach to music as their production has given them the lee way to do so. Da-ae, Yoha, Nara and Hyun A promise to give you a good show on the dates mentioned above and even will perform in Davao in October, something that KPOP fans in that city shouldn't miss!

NOKIA ASHA 501 DS Launch!

I've never been to a Nokia event, nope, I really haven't!

This was my first time; and good thing it's with something BIG (even if the product is small) out of Nokia's shelves. I've seen the preview of this a couple of months ago and now it's finally here! Nokia had some cute things on their sleeve before the big reveal. Trust me, this is quite amusing!

Whimsical Colors!

As if a proper introduction was to take place, Nokia had us wander off this place with Manicure services, live Shirt printing exhibitions and booze at lunch time. It was awesome I tell you! But I asked my self, why are they showing all these colors?

They also had Live freehand shirt painting - I now have my first Nokia shirt! :)

And the booze of different colors and mixes! I had three! LOL

Now I asked, why all these colors?... well it made sense once I got to see the same palette on the nearby poster hehe :)

It's the new Nokia Asha 501 Dual Sim, yes you heard that right... it's got 2 SIM card support. Nokia has listened to its consumers and made the perfect smartphone handset for us Filipinos and what's neat is that they also have your Phonebook covered as 4000 Contacts can fit in your phone memory alone. Add to that your dual sim feature and you probably have all your Facebook friends on the list!

There is a FastView feature which remembers all the apps you recently used so you can go back to them easily, just by scrolling up and down.

It's available in Bright Red, Bright Green, Cyan, Yellow, White and Black so if you choose a different cover, it's also available separately and is called the "Nokia Shells. What ever time of day, or if you want to match it with your outfit, a simple flick and the back cover is easy to replace. It's also WIFI capable so if you prefer connecting on wireless B and G standard networks, it's going to be fast and easy! Since ours is a Dual SIM model, the Stand-by time would be 624 h. No joke. The presenter even had the same handset for the Malaysian launch a few weeks before and didn't even charge it. Talk time would be 17 h, but really who's gonna talk that long? LOL! It's one of the best phones at this price point and I couldn't believe Nokia is still earning from this!

It retails for only Php4,490 (VAT inclusive) and comes with the best apps preloaded from the Nokia Store like Facebook, Twitter, The Weather Channel, plus almost all the popular games you see on different OS'. Graphics on the small screen is phenomenal and from the looks of it, they will be even coming out with more very useful apps soon! The Nokia Asha Platform

Developers would have a grand time playing again with what Nokia has come out with on their Asha Smartphones. They would be able to utilize this Asha platform without having to re-write code which is good news once Nokia unleashes a 100 million of these new generation Asha smartphones in the coming years. They have recently done just that by releasing the Nokia Asha 501.

Marco Argenti, the current head of Developer Experiences at Nokia says they've seen remarkable increase in demand for Asha smart phones as they have found this out in the number of downloads through the Nokia Store. The need for consumer apps at different price points is needed and now they've got incentives for developers to deliver those quality applications needed in the market.To date, they now have CNN, eBuddy, ESPN, Facebook, Foursquare, Line, LinkedIn, Nimbuzz, Pictelligent, The Weather Channel, Twitter, WeChat, World of Red Bulland games from EA, Gameloft, Indiagames, Namco-Bandai, Reliance Games and popular WhatsApp. Soon there will be more from other partners as they continue to grow on the Asha series.

Nokia will also have a beta release of an in app payment facility (www.developer.nokia.com/inapppayment) in the coming weeks and developers can apply for it soon. They will also have the Nokia Asha Software Development Kit 1.0 which is a suite of tools that can hasten development,testing, packaging and deployment of Java apps for the Asha platform. There will be more applications available for the series and the Philippine Nokia App developers should definitely take advantage of what Nokia offers as part of an emerging market for small-medium priced smart phones.
