Dr. Carl Balita Launches New Show "PLATAPORMA"

Saturday, November 09, 2024

One of the most hardworking persons I know, Dr. Carl E. Balita is at it again as he hosts a new show called "PLATAPORMA" set to be shown on DZME, The Manila Times, and Dr. Carl's social channels starting this November 8th, from 5-6 PM. He will be up close, and very personal with his lineup of guests, much of which are political aspirants with a no holds barred format so you get to know who they are, what they stand for on issues that affect the country.

Dr..Carl says "The show is tough, direct to the point, no holds barred and taped as live. Whatever the politicians say, it will appear on the show as they said it. We make it a point to use Tagalog as medium, and we have 200 other channels this content will go to. We plan to put this where they are and hope this reaches the people we need to be educated."

He adds "As a victim (of previous elections), I ask my guests what their proof is about their love for the country. I have hope, to bring you to your feet and contribute to change, and be part of the solution. In the next coming episodes, we will have the element of the public, and my questions will be derived from their platforms, and I will challenge that with data. When you see this, I ask the most difficult questions. I've been there and done that, and with Clarita Carlos will join me at a certain point. We might have this in universities live, hopefully soon. I suspend judgement, I wanna ask them their knowledge about the role of being in the Senate. You cant run and just learn about it when you're already there."

Here's our short talk with him before one of his shoots, please listen!

The show will also have several portions batting their proof with hard data, and one that includes questions from the public and a time for them to do an honest confessional in the last bit. Dr. Carl will also be having Professor Carlota Carlos as co-host, to also help with going into the nitty gritty of their political questions as needed.

This is indeed an entertaining format, but be assured that he's doing this for the sake of VOTERS EDUCATION, one that is sincerely needed in this country of ours. There's talk of more channels in the pipeline where they plan to show this, so stay tuned!

Turning NURSES to MOVIESTARS: "SIGLO NG KALINGA" on PNA's Centennial Celebration

Sunday, October 09, 2022

Just got off the MOA signing of "SIGLO NG KALINGA" at the Philippine Nurses Association grounds this evening in Benitez Street in Manila. It was officiated by PNA officials, executives of Dr. Carl Balita Productions (CBP), Director Lemuel Lorca and nurses from around the country. This evening was all about the life of Anastacia Giron Tupas (AGT), the founder of PNA and how they are making headway in producing the film showcasing the dedication, service, passion and professionalism of Filipino nurses worldwide.

Governor Melvin Miranda, the current President of the Philippine Nurses Association says "Thank you to our past Presidents, and to regional leaders present here this evening. When Dr. Balita threw in the idea of doing a film, we were looking on how the life of AGT will be appreciated. Anastacia and her legacy in PNA is inspiring, at this day, we can inspire more Filipino nurses and connect to generations of them, and I'm glad they appreciate our endeavor to hopefully be learned from grassroots level; especially to nurses, and learn our mission and core values. We appreciate the partnership, thank you!"

Dr. Carl Balita also announced that national artist for film RICKY LEE as consultant for the film. For this project, he wants to put together the best of the best in Philippine cinema. He says "I am also considering Rocco Nacino, Kuh Ledesma, Princess Punzalan, Carol Banawa, different artists who are real nurses, and let them do cameos so we can concentrate on nurses we will get in the casting call. Angeli Bayani will be conducting workshops, as she's an internationally acclaimed actress. In other words, I want our nurses to be involved, also in the poster making and theme song writing contest. I believe we have very talented nurses, and we might ask Kuh Ledesma to help us in singing the song. The film will be seen on May 2023, and target international film festivals and I promise you we will have them in different festivals like Sundance, Toronto, and major film festivals. This is the best film I will ever produce, and I'm challenging everyone involved to do their best as well.

Dr. Carl Balita adds "I want this to be a legacy film to be watched by the public so they would understand the heroism involved in our line of work. We need to communicate the call for the cast, we need them to be part of the film. All of whom need to be nurses."

They are doing a casting call specific for nurses 20-60yo, registered who would be available for a shoot (2 weeks straight) with a 5 day acting workshop on October 12-20 from 10am to 12pm and 1-4pm on zoom. They will also be doing a Theme Song and Poster Making contest for the film depicting the work of Filipinos worldwide and the life of Anastacia Giron Tupas, the founder of PNA. You may send entries before November 26, 2022, you may email drcarlbalitaproductions@gmail.com for more details. This is also in celebration of PNA's Centennial Anniversary, a historic and momentous occasion.

If you're a nurse and want to be part of this, you know what to do!

Boy Abunda Endorses AMA OEd Master's and PhD Programs

Friday, November 29, 2019

AMA was a dream school since the 90's. Everyone who wanted to be in the IT school if they wanted to work in the industry. They have long been the institution that only provides that, because these days they've already grown to be a full blown University offering different courses to Filipinos here and abroad. As you may have known, they have been offering AMA University Online Education for years now via amauonline.com. In a recent study, around 38% of college graduates earn more than non college grads in the country. Being equipped with a diploma gives a better chance for an individual to land a good paying job and yes, they have been able to produce graduates here and around the globe by providing courses apt for OFW's and ordinary joes, so really there is no reason not to get proper education these days.

AMA University Online Education also offers Senior High for new enrollees, ALS passers and trasferees too. It gave a lot of people access to education even in the comforts of their own home. Today at a press conference in Greenhills, they just announced the availability of AMA OEd Master's and PhD programs with their new spokesperson Dr. Eugenio "Boy" Abunda. Oh, and before I forget, he's going to be part of the academe. The affair was also witnessed by AMA Department heads and executives, members of the media and tons of TV stations.

AMAOED CEO Christopher Satulan adds "Welcome to everyone. We are happy he accepted to be our endorser, when we started 5 years ago we didn't know how this would be accepted. Today we understand how Filipinos have the hunger of finishing their education and also further it. We are so glad Dr. Abunda is going to be part of it."

Tito Boy Abunda as most friends and colleagues call him, has a Bachelors degree in Communication Arts from PWU, and earned a Masters of Arts degree and also conferred a Doctorate Degree for Philosophy in Social Development.

Tito Boy says "When I started hosting I didn't finish my studies, I forgot that I had no diploma because I was busy working. I promised this to my mom and dad, I graduated a few years after and I went for my masters after a few years. I was supposed to interview in Cebu when I had to defend my thesis. My adviser and I met in a bar because it was the only thing open that time. During that time I had the luxury of having an adviser. I was questioned a lot about it and I agreed with their observation back then, and I wanted to do the corrections that same instant. They agreed and I continued, they gave me my grades and I passed. For my Doctors degree, it was super difficult because it was consultative. Defending that, had so much of a burden. In AMA you can defend it online. In my experience it was scary and sacred, it had to be new and included maternal love as a tool. It got me broken, I almost backed out, but I realized I had to finish it as a last step. I didn't even need to because I had a good job, I just came prepared and the experience was embedded in my system. I continue to bear that until now. When they spoke to me after that defense, Dr. Manalili told me I was going back to my core. To be aware about the presence of my parents in my life. He was happy I defended it, but he wanted the spirit of my work to show because it was maternal love. I encourage everyone to go for it, even if I talk about showbusiness or social issues, education can broaden your perspective about everything. You start from not knowing, and that journey is education. This can give it to you at your pace, and at the end of it you will carry it til the end. Thank you for the opportunity."

Ms. Mikah Colingo the Sales and Marketing Head for AMAOED "We have a series of programs in IT, Computer Education, BA and Public Administration. Doctorate degrees for IT as well..The usual TOR, Diploma, is needed... it is affordable. It could cost around 4k per subject. It depends on the units."

No matter how young you are, wherever you are in the world, as long as you have access to the internet, you can learn at your own pace, get that AMA OEd Masters and PhD programs from AMA University. If you have inquiries about the courses and fees, just go to amauonline.com and chat with their representatives. They also have email and social channels, all you have to do is ask. Is it time for you to further your career? Finish that degree and get a masters/PhD? The time is now!
