Share the Love and Give Back with AIA Philam Life

Sunday, December 27, 2020

2020 is about to end and hopefully, nothing bad will happen from hereon. We remain good, hopeful, we learned a lot, and lucky to still have our time with family and friends at the comforts of our home this Christmas. But think about it, not everyone is actually lucky. There are folks who lost their jobs, families who got hungry, even organizations, foundations and charitable institutions who lost funding because everyone is in dire straights when the lock down happened. I just hope they're not suffering, especially the people, the children who they are taking care of.

Anyway, we still have a lot to be thankful for. The question I always ask my interviewees when I end a session is "What are you thankful for?", I guess in the months we've been locked in on our homes, it still brought something good with humanity. People have sought and helped family, other folks, relative or not, just pretty much our fellow Filipino. It's also the right thing to do.

AIA Philam Life is doing the same. They're giving back to one of these charities:

SOS Children’s Village -  An NGO focused on fostering care for children.

Haribon Foundation - All for biodiversity and conservation.

Leonard Cheshire Foundation - A health and welfare charity organization.

Anawin Home for the Elderly - A care center for the abandoned and elderly.

There are more. If you become the winner, you can get to choose a partner charity organization. They will receive Php 100,000 from AIA Philam life, which I'm sure they need right now. This is the AIA Philam Life Share the Love and Give Back Promo. You may check the whole mechanics here https://bit.ly/PALSignUpForACauseMechanics. You can also sign up for it here https://bit.ly/PALSignUpForACause so you can help them help others. Check out the hashtag #TuloyAngBuhay on social channels to see more of it.

That's a good thing.

The Hard Case of Alzheimers Tonight at MMK

Saturday, December 22, 2018

I was fortunate to see Ms. Sylvia Sanchez over the weekend and got to talk to her personally. She’s one of the country’s best dramatic actress and it is evident in her past projects, notable series which we have seen over the years. Of course, her caliber is unquestionable. I have watched her son and daughter’s MMK episode last week and I must say, it is in the genes. This evening, it will be her turn, an emotional episode discussing Alzheimers disease, of dimentia and the effects of it in the family.

Aside from the queen of realistic dramas, she will also be with high caliber actor Nonie Buencamino, and the legendary actress Ms. Boots Anson Roa. Nothing much was discussed in the trailer being shown these past few days, but I bet it will be very heavy. This has family conflict, after years of not being with her family, she goes back with an ailing mother who suddenly could not remember her, or anybody for that matter. How would she be able to make amends with the issues they had in the past? How would she be able to go and get back the lost years and fix the broken relationships? How would she be able to get her to understand her feelings, or communicate if they don’t see eye to eye? When you want to make a connection but lost her in the end, not knowing if you would still find her, how would things end?

Watch the show at 8:30PM today and see the story of the Panganiban family and their struggles to live with someone who has Alzheimers. Will they find her and bring her back home?

I hope so too. This is under the direction of Nuel Naval and written by Benson Logronio and Arah Badayos.

Dion Ignacio's Birthday at the Camillus Medhaven for the Elderly

Thursday, March 31, 2016

We're in far Marikina today for the celebration of our dear Kapuso hunk Dion Ignacio. He's celebrating his 29th birthday but he's never look older. The Starstruck alumni and Marimar antagonist is looking forward to spend time with the seniors and patients from the Camillus Medhaven for the Elderly. He spent a lot of time with them first and even sang a few songs for them while giving small things for the elderly too. From food to toiletries, to small grocery packs and adult diapers, he's sought help of his GMA Artist Center family to facilitate the arrangements for this day to happen.

When Dion arrived, he immediately said hi to the elders and made "mano" to all of them. He also obliged to get photos taken with the staff and patients of the center. I learned most of their relatives are abroad and couldn't get someone to take care of them that's why they are in the haven for the elderly. A sad fact, but I find it was actually good for them since they can talk with others in their situation plus the people in the center took care of their needs quite good. Dion remembers his Grandpa and Grandma and felt he's just visiting them here too. He lives a couple of blocks away from this place in Marikina and this isn't the first time that he's celebrated with the elderly, he did this too in a different place last year.

The center's leaders also told us that this is the first time that a celebrity has been able to visit them, and wishes this isn't the last. I'm sure GMA Artist Center would do this again.

Dion also sang a couple of songs for them. The staff swooned on the young hunky gentleman from Starstruck.

Happy happy birthday Dion!

One of the caregivers who also facilitated the event thanked Dion, GMA and Artist Center about them holding his birthday here.

What I don't understand is that he's still not satisfied with his built, he promises to go back to the grind so you'll get to see him in more roles real soon.

He also told us his experience in the first Lipsync Battle together with Tom Rodriguez where he had to help his friend. They were battling against equally gorgeous hunk Dennis Trillo. He also mentioned his experience studying culinary arts plus what he's doing with Philia Band. We also talked about the starstruck winners this year. Listen and watch our interview with the birthday boy  :)
