3.3 Shopee Milyonaryo TV Special with Willie Revillame

Monday, March 01, 2021

This was my first physical event with Shopee as they just announced their newest brand ambassador, no less than the man himself, Willie Revillame. The guy has been hosting popular show Wowowin and with the things he's done for the brand, it wasn't rocket science why they wouldn't choose him for this 3.3 Mega Shopping Day sale.

Kuya Wil as he is known to everyone connects to the masses well. When he does something, he puts his foot in it, even gives his arms and legs too. Needless to say, he's like Santa Claus that lasts the whole year and he's given much not just to the industry, but to countless Filipinos and the urban poor. When I asked him about why he's given so much, he told me that he doesn't want anything anymore, he's been so blessed so he's always looking forward to another day of giving back to people who has more or less put him where he is today. That's pretty noble, and honestly, I know of a lot of other things he's done for other people, like finding them jobs and stuff, so they too can put food on the table like any other person.

Here's my experience when I went to the GMA studios a few days ago. Enjoy!

Anyway, he's actually going to be a headliner during this week's 3.3 Shopee Milyonaryo TV Special. It will start on GMA 7’s Tutok to Win + Shopee Live this coming March 3. So make sure you're streaming through the Shopee app or GMA from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM because that's where he'll be giving away tons of prizes courtesy of Shopee (Oh I heard, up to 5 Million pesos will be given away). Aside from that, Kapuso stars Juancho Trivino, Patricia Tumulak, Kelley Day, Ella Cruz, Julian Trono, bad boy of the dance floor Mark Herras and Rodjun Cruz will be there to entertain you.

Shopee will also give away three cash prizes worth Php 50,000 and Php 10,000 worth of ShopeePay credits. Aside from that, there will be rounds of Shopee Shake during the show wherein you can win cash prizes which amounts to Php 150,000, Php 250,000 and Php 500,000 smackaroos for top players. Of course, there will be well loved Shopee Milyonaryo Pera o Kahon if you claim tickets via the Shopee app. If you get called (announced on air), you just have to choose among six bags and win a prize from zero to 1 Million pesos!

If you haven't downloaded the app yet and enjoyed the vouchers and free shipping, you're missing out a lot. Oh and if you're a pro Shopee shopper, you know paying via Shopee Pay will get you more savings. Add to cart today and pay at 12am like me :)

Give CRY NO FEAR a Chance

Friday, June 22, 2018

Donnalyn Bartolome, Ella Cruz and Director Richard Sommes

It’s been a week or so since Cry No Fear was shown in cinemas. I watched it together with a couple of bloggers during their premier night. Viva artists came in throngs and celebrity friends supported them dearly. Honestly I expected that I wouldn’t enjoy this film because I don’t really watch horror flicks. They did surprise me - as this runs more on the sexy, coming of age, suspense genre rather than just plain horror. It would be worthy to watch especially if you are a fan of Donnalyn Bartolome and Ella Cruz as you’ll see them unfold their sexy side. Not even joking.

Supportive love team Julian Trono

I like the chases, I like the action sequences and the little to no bloody shots, but would have wanted more than that. The ending wasn’t too impressive too as parts of it weren’t realistic. It would have been better to keep the highs still high and perhaps ended it with that rather than forcibly connecting the start of the story.

Donnalyn and Ellla

Donnalyn and Ella used to be in cute roles, this would maybe start them in more mature ones because it felt like that.

Would I recommend it, perhaps for the fans. Give it a chance though because it is still fun.

Cry No Fear is still showing in select theaters, this is produced by Viva Films.

Ella Cruz and Donnalyn Bartolome for CRY NO FEAR

Thursday, June 07, 2018

It looks like Viva Films is changing your viewing habit as they take on a suspense-horror flick set to be shown on the silverscreen this June 20. Albeit a little early for Halloween, Director Richard Somes think this would be a good time to tease the Filipino viewing public with a scare, for millennials, starring millennials.

Donnalyn Bartolome

The story is probably apt for ages 13 and up, as it involves sibling rivalry, a disfunctional family, crime, a lot of running, blood and even death. The two have already worked in TV stints but felt this time, this has already made them even closer. Donnalyn plays KC and Ella Cruz plays Wendy. Coming from different mothers and the same father, it has always been difficult to make amends with the other sibling. "We are not just sisters, but half sisters. I was the princess of my Dad and really wanted to get rid of her. I learned a lot from Direk, I watched a lot of his films and I always wished for this to happen. I knew it was going to be hard but I had to do it, even almost got drowned."

Ella Cruz

Ella Cruz adds "I only talk to dogs, VLOG on my spare time as I don't really talk to people. We may be rivals in the beginning, but later on find how we all come together and become the sisters we're supposed to be. I have already worked with Direk when I was in GMA, when we reconnected it was like we just left off where we were. I love how he shoots systematically, he does the cameras not just in one room but the whole house in some instances."

I didn't know Viva's artists but when I discussed about this project to Viva they introduced the ones who would fit the role, Ella and Donnalyn looked perfect for it and it matched my script well. This would need work, as it is a horror film. They have raw talent, fragile, so it is exciting how we did the workshops because as soon as they did that, I was amazed. Ella was like fire, Donnalyn was emotional, they blew me away. We shot some of the days under the rain, as actresses, we saw how they were driven. This was a different process, with an early call time and late packup, but they go to set with excitement and eagerness as they did KC and Wendy. I just followed how they executed, it did set the tone for the film and got other artists too because they were willing to do it. They did the stunts, even if I didn't want them to do it, so they learned while in fight scenes."

Watch it on June 20! Remember, it can happen to anyone!
