Go Get Seagate SSD Drives On Shopee!

Thursday, July 30, 2020

We're still in GCQ and I picked up a hobby opening up my laptop computer in the hopes to give it new life.

I have already started fixing the old keyboard because some of the letters were just not responding. Just this weekend, I was able to finish upgrading the RAM and ordered a few of it online in Shopee. Honestly, I was just browsing one day and these products just kept appearing right when I have had the luxury of time because of quarantine. Now it looks like I'm kinda running low on storage and what better way to fix that but by getting myself a few interesting pieces from Seagate. Yes, they've got an official store in Shopee.

I am eyeing these SSD External Portable Storage!

SSD's can perform faster, make processes done in quicker time which means more savings later on. It's definitely a great investment, easy to organize with a few months subscription of Mylio Create and edit with Adobe Cloud that comes with it. With a max data transfer of 400 MB/s putting those video and photos for your vlogs would be easy, heck that's way faster than your existing drives if I'm not mistaken. It's gonna be cheaper too if you smartly use your Shopee vouchers which you can download here. Install and shop at the comforts of your home, go to the App Store or Google Play and hurry before you miss the sale!

The YE!! Energy Pack : An Impressive and Smart 8800 mAh External Power Bank for Digital Products

Saturday, December 05, 2015

Ask a blogger and he would probably tell you he's got about 3 powerbanks in his bag on a regular day. With the advent of phone cameras, taking photos and videos, playing games, using map apps is but a regular thing. The need for a reliable powerbank is essential so you could get that story out fresh and fast. More so if you're an iPhone user, because once that you're using LTE, your battery becomes water and you wouldn't be able to keep up if you're just going to rely charging your phone while plugged into the wall and you have to cover events, roam around Manila and waste your time in traffic. I got my hands on the new YE!! Energy Pack. It's an 8800 mAh External Power Bank that you can use for digital products. It's a great product which you can get off the shelves of Digits Trading in their stores like Digital Walker, Beyond the Box and a whole lot more. Now I know there are a lot of power bank devices out there being sold on the streets with some weird brands even written on them. What most people don't know is that most of it probably came from factories in China who recycle laptop batteries and use them for this purpose. It's not only dangerous, but a fire hazard too.

The YE!! Energy Pack is packed a bit sturdy. You won't get it with just the unit itself as it comes with a carrying case which you can use for travel. If you drop it, or bump it elsewhere, it won't give your device any problems because it's protected by it.

When you open the box, you've got the 8800 mAh power bank, a mini usb cable and the product information sheet. You don't really need a genius to know how it works.

I like this part the most on the YE!! Energy Pack because the body of the power bank itself is covered with a soft rubber. Aside from the protection you get from the case, you get more of it on the unit itself. It'll be a bit hard now to see scratches or dents on it through the course of everyday activities.

This also has 2 USB ports on it, one is the 1 Ampere and the other for 2.4 Amperes. Of course the latter would be able to charge your devices a bit faster, one that is obvious. Ampere is a unit of current intensity and if your digital device (phone, tablet, speakers etc.) drains the battery faster than charging it, then it's a sign that your battery is dying. A power bank won't solve that.

The YE!! Energy pack works like a charm and it does not become problematic as I've been using it for two weeks now. I've had other power banks that I wasn't even able to use because it gets broken from the time it was given to me, this one however lasted me the whole day and a half I think because I only charge my phone when it runs out of juice, and I'm practically a heavy user. I must say it's a bit heavy because there are others out there that are smaller and lighter, but this one is special as it's got something to protect itself from bumps and scratches, from daily abuse of commute and travel, which others don't really have.

This also can have a standby time of around 6 months, if you don't really have use for it yet then you can set it aside without worrying at all. If you want to see how much power is left inside, you just shake it and it'll show the LED lights in front how much you have left. It's that smart. You can also charge the power bank itself while it's being used by your device, I don't know any brand that could do that. It's practically impossible to compete with this since it's very smart. Again, you can get this YE!! Energy Pack in all Digits Trading affiliated stores nationwide. That includes Beyond the Box and Digital Walker.

It makes perfect sense to have this as a Christmas gift too no?

Product Review of 2TB Seagate Wireless Plus

Wednesday, June 03, 2015

I had tons of fashion shows this week so when this arrived in my doorstep I didn't get to play with it. I was excited though because this is the Seagate Wireless Plus, a 2 TB external hard disk that's got wireless capability. I have a Seagate 3TB drive that I'm using for years and it's pretty much stored all my photos since I had my camera. It's also got videos and photos from my event coverages which means there are probably a hundred or more celebrities inside the drive. This 2 TB drive looks quite smaller. I think with the years of advancements in hardware design, Seagate has been able to make drives smaller in form factor. I also have felt that they're way lighter than my old Seagate drive but the metal exterior seems to look the same. It's sleek and classic look would never make your drive look old even for years. I could compare it to a classic Jaguar if you've seen one in Manila.

If you're thinking about storage space, 2 TB can fit around 1000 movies. It would be a little less though if it's going to be those that are HD of course because that's a different story. Imagine how much libraries you can fit in this single unit though, you might finish a whole radio day and never repeat a single track as you play hours upon hours worth of mp3's in one sitting. This can also stream the media wirelessly so if you've got several cellphones, a smart TV, a couple of tablets at home, you won't have a problem sharing content from your drive. I watched Naruto the Movie, Dragonball and Samurai X earlier in my Honor 6 phone, my iPad 3 mini and iPhone but I didn't have any problems. I also tried transferring photos to and from my other drive wired to my laptop and it didn't even get a hiccup.

I was also surprised to see they thought about international customers. I know people who travel and find out later that their gadgets don't even have plugs on the countries they went to. Like me, I didn't know Hong Kong was going to be troublesome because I had to buy from a local hardware store some attachments like these... but Seagate takes care of that all!

Seagate Wireless Plus

The quick start guide had simple instructions and they also have the USB cable inside the box. I just attached it and installed the necessary drivers. You can transfer the files at this moment because obviously it's going to be slower wireless. If you want to go wireless, just search for the Seagate SSID and associated your device with the drive and voila! I just removed the cable and I was totally wireless! Place it anywhere where you have wireless coverage and you're good! Well, actually you can use it even without the wireless network because this can work as your base station.
