You're gonna LOV'EM BLOOMS at Ayala Malls!

Monday, April 11, 2016

Flowers make me happy. The variety of colors, the way they look or even smell makes me produce endorphins more than the usual. Last week, we were surprised by Ayala Malls at the center of Greenbelt 5 with a diverse display of Philippine Orchids, ornamental plants to signify the start of summer. They've been the best looking mall chain bar none, but they made an effort this whole month of April to surround us with lush flora, green landscapes and beautiful gardens. Now how's that for fun?!

All these flowers and more will be now seen in Glorietta, Greenbelt, Alabang Town Center, TriNoma, Fairview Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu, Centrio Mall, Ayala Malls Solenad and UP Town Center. This is part of their Lov'Em Blooms campaign to support sustainable green living and they're doing different events to further celebrate this!

You can now sign up for Green Walks so volunteers from Philippine Native Plants Conservation Society Inc. could tell you about native trees, flora, that can be easily found inside Ayala Malls. They'll also be displaying some of the most beautiful orchids this April 16 at the Fairview Terraces, April 23 at Ayala Malls Solenad and May 7th on the Alabang Town Center. They're also promoting arts and crafts workshops on May 7-8 in Alabang Town Center, a photo contest with Ayala Alabang Camera Club plus art activities on May 20-22 in Greenbelt.

Here's a little taste of what's in store!

Oh and for those who are not blessed with a green thumb (like me I think LOL) you can get tips from Joey Quintana and the whole Alabang Garden Club so they can teach you how to get them survive your hands lol. This will be on May 7th then they'll have a Mother's Day activity on May 8th. If you are fond of tea, Greenbelt has an edible garden on those dates so stay with a bunch of amigas and enjoy it like in England. For those who fancy to get the blooms to their own special occasions, the suppliers, local producers, growers florists, designers, stylists, name it, they'll be in Greenbelt from April 15-17, May 6-15 at Ayala Center Cebu, May 7-8 at Alabang Town Center, May 6-8 at Abreeza Ball, May 21-22 in TriNoma, June 3-5 in Glorietta, June 22-26 at Fairview Terraces and June 24-26 at Centrio Mall. You basically have the whole half year to enjoy these flowers, plants and activities because this is Ayala Malls.

They've got more, so just look at their social media pages today and bloom away!

Wingstop’s UAAP Sports Snack Bundles

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

I'm a Warrior and I've been watching all the games of my alma mater since the start of UAAP Season 78. It's unbelievable because the impossible just became possible as schools who initially had the greatest players, the greatest hopes and reviews on their lineup suddenly became vulnerable by other schools who everybody thought would just lose their games in the first round. My school was part of that roster but look at where we're at now! It's those run and gun games, fantastic plays, the good old school spirit that made the journey so different that in a rookie laden school, we became the great story in every sports related website, TV show and whatnot. It's the heart of the players, the tough battles we've conquered that makes my school the best. I'm sure you've got your UAAP story to tell but after every game, every match and every hymn played in Smart Araneta Coliseum or Mall of Asia Arena, there's nothing but the best thing to do but bond over food and drinks. That's where WING-STOP comes in!

Aside from the 10 lovely, savory, sweet and spicy flavors they have for the Chicken Wings, they're taking it up a notch by offering Wingstop UAAP Bundles. Imagine for Bundle A, you've got 25pcs Wings, 25pcs Boneless Chicken Bites, Texas-Style Fries, Onion Rings, Chipotle Rice and a 1.75 liter Coke in a pitcher.

Bundle B on the other hand has 25pcs of Wings, 12pcs Chicken Tenders, Texas-Style Fries, Onion Rings, Chipotle Rice, and a 1.75 liter Coke served again on a pitcher. Now if they ask you what flavor to order, might I suggest the Garlic Parmesan, the Atomic (for deadly spice lovers), the Mango Habanero and the Teriyaki. It's my personal favorites but you can always order the others. The plain ones are as good too. Now that they've bundled it, you don't have to point fingers anymore who's going to order what, or get them in trouble if you didn't like it. It's that simple, they've actually done everything for you!

Currently, these bundles are all available on their BGC Stopover, Alabang Town Center, UP Town Center, Glorietta 2, Greenhills Promenade, Estancia, Fairview Terraces, Eastwood CityWalk and TriNoma branches. Make sure you get those sour cream dips too because they're too good to pass on when in Wingstop! I ate a ton of these, so make sure you get them before the promo ends soon! Each bundle costs Php 1999.00, totally worth it!

Trust me on the wings!

Chef's Noodle Opens New Branch in Fairview Terraces

Monday, July 20, 2015

Chef's Noodle just opened in Fairview Terraces in Quezon City.

People up north should rejoice now that they've got another Asian fusion place to go to when they crave for it. The popular restaurant Chef's Noodle just opened its doors to the public at the post Fairview Terraces in Quezon City. It's just on the third floor of the mall and we've seen how big they've grown since we covered some of their store openings last year. They're obviously gunning towards malls who already have a set clientele. This one in particular in the north usually have residential areas, villages, nearby provinces who go all the way there for fun, food and recreation. This establishment is partly owned by Sam Concepcion and he's got several partners I think who are so into the food business they decided that it's the right time to open a new branch again in this area.

The place can sit around 80-100 people and has the charm of an Asian cowboy's country home because of the use of wood, deer antler lighting fixtures and several bowls placed inside shelves on the walls. There's a huge use of wood (all farm raised I guess) and it paints a very warm open space. Nothing's in between tables and chairs so you kinda get the vantage point of it being open anywhere you are seated inside. I think they're also placing a couple more tables outside if they prefer a more mall feel. We were there during it's grand opening so an Italian priest was there to officiate.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino was also there, I think the others in the same frame are all incorporators too. Aside from the nice ambiance and the nice interiors, Chef's Noodle also boasts some of the nicest Korean fusion dishes this side of town. Here's what we had during lunch.

Red Iced Tea, I think this was Cranberry flavored, a little tangy and not too sweet.

Gimbap served as our appetizers. They had different fillings in the center like mangoes, ham, beef, cucumber and asparagus spears.

Shrimp Twigim. This is the Korean version of Tempura I guess and it was loved by many. It's crunchy on the outsiide and really fresh on the inside.

They call this Spicy Pork. Aside from the finger chili, I think they used Gochujang or Korean Chili Paste in the sauce. They didn't hold back obviously but it was so good with the rice. I loved this among all the things they served that afternoon.

This is their Pork Bibimbap. I'd rather have pork slices than ground pork but it's okay. We didn't have rice anymore and this was the thing we paired with the other items they served that afternoon. Quite filling and perhaps this would really be better if they served more Gochujang on the side since I like my Bibimbap spicy.

This is their Beef Bibimbap. We all wished for beef strips than it being grounded up too much. I'd practically have the same observations as with the Pork Bibimbap. They've also got a lot of competition with this dish and perhaps making it a little different or more generous would spell success with the brand. Hey, I'm all for food innovation like they are!

So for those who are craving for something hot, something definitely Korean, please do not hesitate to go to the 3rd Floor of Fairview Terraces and try the best of Korean Western fusion at Chef's Noodle's newest branch. It's very comfortable there, it's conducive for talk if you're bringing your friends and family. They're open mall hours so if you're into good Korean food, visit them today!

Congratulations Chef's Noodle!
