MMFF 2023 Entry MALLARI Holds Fan Conference in MALL OF ASIA

Saturday, December 02, 2023

The MALLARI fever is on as they hold a big mediacon and fan conference at the Mall of Asia Music Hall this December 1st courtesy of the folks from Mentorque Productions and their new distributor partner Warner Brothers Pictures and Cleverminds Incorporated.

The film is part of this year's Metro Manila Film Festival entries which is highly coveted. This stars Mr. Piolo Pascual who plays the role of Father Juan Severino, a Filipino priest who met his untimely demise through the hands of the Spanish colonizers because of his acts. The event will also be graced by Mentorque Productions President John Bryan Diamante, lead stars Piolo Pascual, Janella Salvador, indie king JC Santos, Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, hunky Ron Angeles, Tommy Alejandrino, and a throng of actors in this real and semi fictional story of a priest that lived in the 1800's. He is said to have victimized over 57 people before getting stopped as the earliest recorded serial killer. Even older than Jack the Ripper.

Piolo says "For me as an actor, it's hard, but the difference of the characters were already described. The production value really was my consideration, the time I read the script, I already knew how big it was."

Gloria Diaz says she loves working with Piolo and adds "I love him, he is so nice. He is so maappeal. The director is a little tense, I am insecure with the new director so I always ask. The location, rain and distance was far, I had to do this of course."

Direk Derick says "Our set is fun, it's so easy to work because everyone was good vibes. The day 1 was severely difficult because we shot the ending first. I had questions about the way we shot this because it was very challenging to do 3 different personas and do it right away."

Janella says "The reason why it's called a curse (love as a curse) is because you want to do everything for the one you love, but I don't believe in that much."

Here's our video coverage, please enjoy!

This is Directed by Derick Cabrido who's dedication is unquestionably proven in this film. He showcased different timelines, periods that is not a usual topic in MMFF entries. Fans who love horror will surely love this offering, and international audiences will have a treat watching this horror flick on Christmas day. CinemaOne Originals Festival 2017 at Ayala Malls

Tuesday, November 14, 2017

I was surprised to see tons of people watch one of the Cinema One Originals Festival 2017 entry "Si Chedeng at Si Apple" starring Ms. Elizabeth Oropesa and Ms. Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz. It's one of several films that will be shown until November 21. So if you haven't seen any of the entries, now would be a good time to watch these films.

Trinoma was grand, I could imagine watching these too in Glorietta or in any Ayala Malls. Trinoma has dedicated Cinema 2 while Glorietta has Cinema 4 which will show these CinemaOne Originals Festival 2017 entries. So if you're raring to see other films like "The Third Member", "Cain at Abel", "L'Amant Double", "Nay", "Nervous Translation", "Paki", "Bundok Banahaw, Sacred and Profane", "Changing Partners", "Throwback Today", "Historiographika Errata", other previous remastered entries, some foreign films who also joined the screenings, and other short films, make sure you look up schedules in Trinoma and Glorietta. I like the movie "Si Chedeng at si Apple" most because of it's plot. The dramedy film really had some really serious scenes and you'll love how the banter between Chedeng and Apple show the values of friendship, love, second winds and relationships. Gloria Diaz became a little unfiltered, capable of being funny at times and completely having the audience hooked on their journey to find a lost lesbian love. I wouldn't want to spoil things for you so you better watch this film made by directors Fatrick Tabada and Rae Red.

Ms. Elisabeth Oropesa was impressive, fully immersing herself with a character that's full of flaws, but completely happy and contented with life, never even looked back after hooking up with a stranger (a fine looking man too). You'll love her and Chedeng, as they tick off things on their bucket list, you'll be eager to do the same thing with your life. Or maybe find a lost love in the process too.

The movies will be shown up until the 21st of November in Trinoma and Glorietta. It starts 12:20pm and screen the last ones around 9:50pm. Hurry because I've seen tickets got sold out last night with this one and the film Nay.

Watch them all this week please! :)

Bench Scents: Isabelle Daza's Ritual and Univers!

Sunday, September 22, 2013

I love runway and I love scents. It's the perfect marriage if you ask me. Bench always has the good stuff and this event was no different. They just recently launched a new eau de toilette and body spray designed and inspired by the one and only Isabelle Daza. It's about time if you ask me. She's darn gorgeous and of course she takes a gene or more from Mom who won Ms. Universe right? Let's see what transpired that evening at the Trinoma Activity Center.

The stage was set! They built their own Mom and Pop shop right in the center and it was reminiscent of Soda counters in the 1960's but it was nothing old. The theme was just right. It was classic and judging from the smell I got in the sample bottles they got me, it's fit to be used by Men and Women. How can you go wrong with that?

Pretty "swing" dance numbers came after. Then we saw the star of the evening, it's Isabelle Daza!

Then she bade goodbye and made way for a short fashion show featuring Bench's (still) summer collection and a whole lot of body spritzers for the audience. Fashion with a scent, why not!

Easy going, light and colorful fabrics with prints and different patterns. It can work even on rainy days! Who says you have to be gloomy and dark on this weather?

Then the men came in and proved my point =)

Ritual Deo Cologne is for those who love something light and fresh. It's grassy, cedar and flowery undertones that is not too girly gives it a spot on the more "unisex" sector because it can be easily worn by men. The UNIVERS bottle on the other hand plays a more dreamy, flowery and woodsy notes that can also work both men and women. Isabelle had a hand designing these two fragrances because she thought of something that can be totally attractive to both sexes. It's something that can't be contained in one's sexual orientation. It can be the perfect gift for your partner or just for personal use everyday without smelling too strong or too girly when that time comes you get smelled by other people. Admit it, they do!

Friends, relatives, executives from Suyen Corporation, Ben Chan himself and Isabelle Daza's supporters were all in attendance. They got hold of what Isabelle wants in a perfume during the show. Our own Ms. Universe Ms. Gloria Diaz was also in front to see her daughter and Bench celebrate her new fragrance!

Spotted my crush Jasmine Maierhoffer too! ^_^ hihi!

Then Isabelle Daza was given a bouquet of flowers by her Mom and of course Mr. Ben Chan.

Congratulations Ms Isabelle Daza for becoming Bench's latest Scent endorser! Rush over to Bench Lifestyle stores to get hold of Ritual and UNIVERS to experience how it is to have the smell that Isabelle loves in spray cans and bottles. I wore it today and I smell so nice that my friends ask me about it. It's time to fulfill your fantasies by having one now! It's about time!
