"Likhang HABI Market Fair" Slated October 13-15 at Makati City

Thursday, September 21, 2023

Seeing the various colors, textures and ingenuity done on Philippine fabric in one place was overwhelming to see. I had the chance to actually experience all these at the preview of "Web of Woven Wonders", an activity of HABI: The Philippine Text Tile Council. They will be mounting the Likhang HABI Market Fair this coming October 13-15 at the Glorietta 2 and Palm Drive Activity Center grounds in Makati City.

HABI President Adelaida Lim says "People are connected, like textiles, people, places and things bind us together. As you can see in this preview, it's the outstanding skill of our weavers that make these world class products happen. Definitely, it's something we can all be proud of!"

The fair will be having over 72 vendors from all across the country. They will converge at the venue to showcase, promote and make available the hand woven textiles, clothes, bags, trinkets and more. They also have pieces made of pineapple, abaca, cotton that will be shown in a bigger space this year and other international exhibitors from countries like Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia so PH vendors get inspired from our SEA neighbors. The event is supported by Ayala Land, Ayala Foundation, government agencies and private corporations. There will also be competitions happening at the event, particularly the 6th Lourdes Montinola Pina Weaving and the 2nd Eloisa Hizon Gomez Abaca Weaving. This will be an exciting venue to showcase their work!

Dr. Randy Madrid's book "Pina Futures: Weaving Memories and Innovations" will be launched at the same fair, so for those who are passionate about PH textile, you can get them all there!

This is just the tip of the iceberg, so make sure to be there on October 13-15 when the event happens!

Your Burger Fix at FATBURGER Glorietta 2

Tuesday, May 22, 2018

A lot has paid attention lately to one of the most endearing food item that the Americans left us during World War 2. Our love for burgers these days are just out of this world. Our palate has just become more adventurous, and we have become courageous in experimenting, getting all the different flavors and favorites in between two buns and the lack thereof. This one I ate at is in Glorietta 2 in Makati, have you heard of FATBURGER?

The place is cozy,it’s got ample amount of seating, some bunk chairs, and a bar that’s got milkshakes and burgers on it’s menu. Of course being a burger olympian I was so excited to try their biggest burger. I was watching my weight a bit so I don’t usually eat the bread, I’m glad they’ve got skinny versions of all these burgers which I’ll show you in a bit. Meet my friends first!

This one is the ORIGINAL 1/4 pound Burger. It’s got the right amount of meat, filling and tasty, plus the usual add ons mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, relish, mustard, ketchup, or if you prefer to not have it, you can customize your burger. As I mentioned earlier, you can even opt other bun varieties or without it at all. If you wish to add premium things like Bacon, Fried Egg, Grilled Onions, Chili, Onion Rings, Mushrooms, they can do that on English Muffins too. If you’re not into beef, they havr Chicken Burger and Veggie Burger patties so you can still have your fix.

Oh and no, they are not holding back on the fresh ingredients, as you can see on this DOUBLE Burger which is around 1/2 pound, it’s as if it’s bursting out already. People were drooling. The buns as we mentioned could be white, a lettuce wrap, a brioche bun, English Muffin, or the Gluten Free one.

My burger of choice is the TRIPLE. I asked them to have it on the SKINNY version so you can do without the buns and have all the juicy meat goodness of every burger patty served to you. It was good while it lasted. The FAT BAR serves cocktails, local and imported beers, wine, whisky, bourbon, cognac and just about anything you can put your hands on after office hours. They are open mall hours so that can be anytime of the day, you’re just gonna have to make the choice with your friends and family.

Oh and if that’s not enough, they’ve got good Buffalo wings since it’s like 2 restaurants in one joint. Ahhh the possibilities are endless, I’ll be back there for more burgers for sure.

If you’re looking for a good burger fix, go and find one at FATBURGER. It’s good and not that expensive either, it’s just right. FATBURGER is just outside the Glorietta 2 entrance along Palm Drive, go rush there if you want one now.

Wingstop’s UAAP Sports Snack Bundles

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

I'm a Warrior and I've been watching all the games of my alma mater since the start of UAAP Season 78. It's unbelievable because the impossible just became possible as schools who initially had the greatest players, the greatest hopes and reviews on their lineup suddenly became vulnerable by other schools who everybody thought would just lose their games in the first round. My school was part of that roster but look at where we're at now! It's those run and gun games, fantastic plays, the good old school spirit that made the journey so different that in a rookie laden school, we became the great story in every sports related website, TV show and whatnot. It's the heart of the players, the tough battles we've conquered that makes my school the best. I'm sure you've got your UAAP story to tell but after every game, every match and every hymn played in Smart Araneta Coliseum or Mall of Asia Arena, there's nothing but the best thing to do but bond over food and drinks. That's where WING-STOP comes in!

Aside from the 10 lovely, savory, sweet and spicy flavors they have for the Chicken Wings, they're taking it up a notch by offering Wingstop UAAP Bundles. Imagine for Bundle A, you've got 25pcs Wings, 25pcs Boneless Chicken Bites, Texas-Style Fries, Onion Rings, Chipotle Rice and a 1.75 liter Coke in a pitcher.

Bundle B on the other hand has 25pcs of Wings, 12pcs Chicken Tenders, Texas-Style Fries, Onion Rings, Chipotle Rice, and a 1.75 liter Coke served again on a pitcher. Now if they ask you what flavor to order, might I suggest the Garlic Parmesan, the Atomic (for deadly spice lovers), the Mango Habanero and the Teriyaki. It's my personal favorites but you can always order the others. The plain ones are as good too. Now that they've bundled it, you don't have to point fingers anymore who's going to order what, or get them in trouble if you didn't like it. It's that simple, they've actually done everything for you!

Currently, these bundles are all available on their BGC Stopover, Alabang Town Center, UP Town Center, Glorietta 2, Greenhills Promenade, Estancia, Fairview Terraces, Eastwood CityWalk and TriNoma branches. Make sure you get those sour cream dips too because they're too good to pass on when in Wingstop! I ate a ton of these, so make sure you get them before the promo ends soon! Each bundle costs Php 1999.00, totally worth it!

Trust me on the wings!
