Ready Your Hearts for Himig Handog 2019

What’s up this year? Pretty good stuff. Some returnees, some new ones and among 4,000 entries, they’ve trimmed it down to 12 finalists.

I am excited about Daniel Padilla, he’s going to be collaborating in an entry with Moira in Dan Martel Tanedo’s “Mabagal”. Janella Salvador will do “Nung Tayo Pa” which was written by Rex Torremoro and Elmar Bolaño. Alekzandra Quitalig will do her own work “Alaala” while Eamarie Gilayo will do “Ikaw at Linggo”. Vanya Castor will interpret “Paano Ba” composed by Richanne Jacinto. “Isa Pang Ikaw” composed by Joseph Ponce will be sung by Justin Vasquez. Tj Monterde will be singing “Panandalian” composed by Jerome Arcangel and Cee Jay Del Rosario. Alex Gonzaga will be singing “Please Lang” composed by Michael Aplacador. Joan Da will sing “Sasabihin Ko” composed by LJ Manzano , Davey Langit will do “Simula ng Dulo” which he co wrote with composer Therese Villarante. Ferdinand Aragon’s “Ingat” will be interpreted by I Belong To The Zoo, Janine Berdin will sing “Sayong Mundo” composed by Noah Zuniga.

Hearing the stories behind the songs was just so awesome especially since most of them did this after real life occurrences, plus their very own relationships, as some of them are real life boyfriends/girlfriends.

Fresh New Songs Heard in HIMIG HANDOG 2017

It looks like we're up to hear even more FRESH songs in this year's Himig Handog 2017. I've heard all of the entries during the press conference this afternoon at ABSCBN, and so far I like a couple of them already. After screening about a thousand songs, ABSCBN and Star Music has finally chosen the final 10.

 

Here are snippets of the press conference together with Jonathan Manalo, the composers and artists who are interpreting the songs.

BAGYO will be performed by Jake Zyrus, BES will be performed by Migs Haleco, EXTENSYON will be done by Iñigo Pascual and Aikee, NARIRINIG MO BA will be sung by new Asian sensation Morisette, SAMPU by Jona, TANGHALING TAPAT by Unit 406, TAYO NA LANG KASI will be by Kyla and Kason Dy, THE LABO SONG will be performed by Kaye Cal, TITIBO-TIBO by Moira and WOW NA FEELINGS will be performed by Janella Salvador.

The Grand Finals will happen on November 26. All these songs will be available at Apple Music, iTunes, One Music, Music Video, Astroplus, Odyssey Music and Video, ABSCBN Store, and can be heard through Star Music channels, MOR plus their social media channels. 

My personal favorite is the song TITIBO-TIBO by Moira. It's catchy and when I heard it, it just was flawless. I hope she wins!

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2013!

What does make a song a huge hit?

Well for starters, it's got to be a union between the song writer, arranger, producer and the singer. Now how do you know the song is great? You gotta have the proper venue to show it. That's were the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs competition comes in.

It's 2013 and it's time to discover more talents, so when this songwriting competition called in entries... a total of about 2,500 people from all over the Philippines and other countries that have Pinoys sent their songs; and by golly wow it was really a huge turnout. We were able to see the finalists a few days ago and judging from the ones who got in, it looks promising.
