Jackie Rice, Yasmien Kurdi and Teri Aunor on People VS The Stars this Easter

Saturday, April 15, 2017

I was keeping this post on drafts because it was taped a couple of weeks back. It was my first time joining the audience too. I was there during the launch and this Easter Sunday, you'll be seeing me on the sidelines of People versus The Stars with lovebirds and hosts Drew Arellano and Iya Villania-Arellano. During this episode you'll see the angelic but funny Jackie Rice (who also appears in Ika 6 Na Utos), Afternoon Soap Queen Yasmien Kurdi (who just finished Sa Piling Ni Nanay) and super funny Superstar impersonator and Bataan politician Teri Aunor. They'll be answering several TOUGH questions designed to confuse, outwit, and make them rich. Otherwise, the money will go to deserving audience members raffled off by a DTI representative during the shoot.

To start the game, they kinda choose a leader so if the time runs out they can declare their final answer. This time they chose Teri Aunor, which was quite a good choice because he's quite adept in answering trivia questions. You'll see how she panics because she talks too much before telling the hosts what it is. It was hilarious!

Behind the scenes, seeing Drew and Iya have fun while doing the show was actually refreshing. These two look absolutely in love, like it was if they were still boyfriend and girlfriend with the exception of the super cute baby that they have of course.

We won't tell you if they win the prize pot or not but they answered almost everything on the show. It was mostly Philippine General Information questions and I would have answered most of them myself. I like that they've got multiple choice questions and if you're not careful, you'll end up with almost nothing.

During the latter part of the show, you'll also enjoy the presence of GMA's home grown boyband ONE UP. Well, let's just say they've made some of the girls scream on the top of their lungs while the guests chose the answers to the final question.

If you would like to be part of this show you can follow their social media channels or GMA Network because they do include online participants to be part of the audience sometimes. It was fun and very educational and if you're lucky, that smartness might prove you to win moolah if you get pit against The Stars!

People VS The Stars shows every Sunday at 5PM. Don't miss it this Easter Sunday!

Allen Dizon Stars In Kamkam (Greed)

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

Allen Dizon stars as Johnny, a man who revolves around a community laden with drugs, gambling, illegal activities and modern concubines.
I never watch Filipino films on an ordinary day, but I did a few days ago with the invitation of some friends from GMA and Heaven's Best who produced the film. I didn't expect much because I always had a weird notion about pinoy films, but when I heard that this was a Joel Lamangan masterpiece, I knew I had to watch it.

Kamkam (Greed) talks about Sitio Kamkam. A community where the poor indulge in everything illegal. From water and electrical connections, to pot sessions, gambling and womanizing was a norm. Johnny ruled the streets and there were a handful of people who could go against him. The Barangay Captain and his men, the court of law and probably a few paid policemen. It delves on what we often call normal in some communities in the Philippines. There's an utter disregard to ethics, professionalism and even human life.

Jean Garcia, Sunshine Dizon and Jackie Rice plays as Johhny's wives. They (Jean and Sunshine) get along quite well but when the third wife arrived, he favored her more than the others. Jealousy ensued, family ties got severed and it wasn't a pretty picture. Their son's and daughters in some way also had their own issues come in between. the performances of Lucho Ayala and Joyce Ching were a revelation here so you must watch how their story makes the situation more complex for their Father.

Allen Dizon says yes, there was initially some awkwardness when they shot the film because the roles just required a few adult scenes with his wives. Other than that, it's also the first time that he got to work with these ladies too. He was also impressed with his co actors in this film and adds even the kids did quite well for the most. He also mentioned that people will be able to relate with each character because they'll all see themselves with them at one point. The closeness of the characters with real life is astounding and people will appreciate how much they've portrayed some of the good and bad things that Filipinos are accustomed to. Another thing that I'm very fond of is the role of award winning actor Jim Pebanco as Johnny's gay best friend. He presents a comedic, touching and supportive persona that would want Johnny's life easy. The thing is, they found Johnny's body one day... floating lifeless in the river. Who would do such a thing? Why would a man who only wanted to provide for his family find his untimely demise. You better find out why on July 9, 2014 as it shows on selected theaters nationwide!

This also stars Emilio Garcia, Elizabeth Oropesa, Jim Pebanco, Joyce Ching, Lucho Ayala, Rita De Guzman, Hiro Peralta and Kerbie Zamora. This is written by Jerry Gracio and of course Directed by Joel C. Lamangan by Heaven's Best Productions. See how this daring, dramatic film unfold the story about greed in so many ways.

GMA's Primetime Afternoon: Innamorata

Monday, May 12, 2014

You remember when we met Dion Ignacio a few months ago? Well, he's part of this series called Innamorata. It literally means being "in love" and this mid fantasy story that goes around a young lady who's got a condition based on the one they called Porphyria. In a nutshell, it's a very weird skin condition and you won't look good while having it. It's hereditary and it doesn't happen often according to statistics. All of which will all magically disappear when she (Max Collins' character) wears a necklace. Innamorata's lead stars are Max Collins, Luis Alandy, Gwen Zamora and Jackie Rice. We got to talk to some of them during the short blogcon a few days ago and it was fun!

We were treated with a song by Luis Allandy and a couple of acting games after LOL. They were asked a couple of questions, some were a little off tangent but most of it is general. I think they are running a couple of months and might be ending soon. That goes without saying that their story is about to get more intense in the coming weeks. Some that would be very interesting to their current viewers. Something to do with Gina's sickness and how Cora and Dino would try to find out if this claim is real or not. Gina will also make Esperanza a little bit more guilty about stealing everything from her but really, we know why she's saying that. Will Edwin succumb to Gina's wishes to get married because of that? Well, we've got to find out by watching them on GMA's primetime block.

I also hope you get to see that part where Gina goes storming into the wedding and pulls off the necklace off Esper; then divulges what she really looks like. It'll be hard on Esper and she'll feel extra sad these coming days. Will she be able to convince Dencio later on? Or will the love story end soon.

You were a treat to interview guys! Thanks for the time to get to know you! :)
