COCO MARTIN and Task Force AGILA All Stars Appear in AP Partylist Sortie in Tondo, Manila

Friday, April 29, 2022

Yesterday was an eye opener for me. I got to witness a grand campaign by Ako'y Pilipino Partylist in Parola Tondo, Manila. It's actually very far from where I live and a bit adamant to go, but hearing that Coco Martin was part of the people pushing for the cause of AP Partylist tells me I should listen more about their platforms... this time, live and in person.

For those who don't know, they've been very active in helping people during the height of the COVID-19 crisis where Representative Ronnie Ong is running for 1st nominee. He did several projects these past few years which include free transportation for health workers,  helping farmers to get their produce to centralized pantries to feed communities, free tablets and access to internet connection for teachers and students who are having difficulty during the pandemic. This benefited communities around the country and helped public utility drivers, farmers, frontline workers to get to and from their work place. They also provided work for some ABSCBN workers who got laid off during the station's franchise woes that left 10K plus employees fending for themselves.

Coco and TASK FORCE AGILA knew about their deeds which is why they are in full force supporting AP Partylist #164 so that they may continue their projects in communities such as this one in Tondo, Manila. Coco says "Cong Ronnie has always been working so hard, we've been witness to that. Now it's our turn to support him, and hopefully you will too by choosing #164 AP Partylist on May 9th."

Coco and Task Force AGILA came from a long day of roaming the streets of Manila (through a motorcade from noon til night time). The place filled up in no time as it was pretty close to a community. They got a DJ from Cebu, DJ Jhaiho and Amazing Betong to host the event. It was met with excitement as several lucky guys and gals got to participate in games they prepared that evening. A mini pageant, a dance off, that got all of us entertained while waiting for the celebrities to come out.

Aside from singing, dancing and entertaining the crowd that evening, each of the Task Force Agila celebrities had the chance to talk to the crowd about Cong. Ron's projects which he still continues to do today. Marc Solis, John Medina, John Pratts, Raymart Santiago, Angel Aquino, Michael De Mesa, told us about the importance of having someone out there to help people in times of crisis, when people don't have jobs and how they could earn a living (they also help MSME's and fund projects). They are also supporting Vice President Leni Robredo who's running for President as well this 2022.

Meanwhile, Sancho Vito de las Alas joined Bassilyo, Sisa, Smugglaz who consider this their home turf so they got the crowd hyped up right before Coco Martin came out from back stage. They sung the "Ako'y Pilipino" theme, rapped some parts of it which touched a lot of the audience last night. They ended the festivities with Coco Martin going up on stage and the whole Task Force AGILA singing to the crowd. Coco reiterated how people need to help AP Partylist and Congressman Ronnie Ong have all of us who care about these causes true representation in the lower house. Because at the end of the day, each one counts!

P.S.Thank you to the kind people behind this event who had us experience this last night.

Get Ready for HUEniverse Music Festival

Saturday, September 07, 2019

HUENIVERSE is one of the most awaited Music Festivals in the country and since last year, the industry was abuzz with what could be the biggest party brought to us by Brightbulb Productions, but really, what is about to happen this September?

Artists like Bita and the Bottles, Agsunta, Spongecola, Written By The Stars, Claudia Baretto, around 12 Big names of in OPM music will converge in Filinvest Concert Grounds in Alabang. This is co-presented by SUN Cellular and has several partners. They will also have an international DJ to play music til the wee hours of the morning so you better get ready to party all day!

John Pratts, Camille Pratts, Isabelle Oli, Angelica Panganiban and Sam Milby form Bright Bulb Productions and originally they were just planning for Moira’s concert, then the music video came, then Kyla, then another one for Moira, then a movie but they want to concentrate in HUEniverse first. Their motivation is the artists dream so they start for that. Angelica have attended Coachella and Fuji Rock but in the country they wanted to spread positivity and learn from musicians here. To forget their worries, to get the artist spread their colors, to be positive. This is HUEniverse. It’s going to be fun!

Party starts at 1PM and the lineup will be a huge secret, so people could look forward and get to watch their favorite artists. There will be food stations, VIP section, food trucks, but if you have entered, you can’t go back. You will wear your status, there will be no dead airs (I hope this is true) and will have two band setups so you will enjoy music in the venue  continuously. This is also a product of listening to local artists (as John mentioned), they fell in love with OPM. It is a long term project and they are also planning ahead of what to do next year. Thing is, they are only allowing people 18 and above. They have also complied with security requirements of the city because they want everyone to be safe. They will be very strict. You can enjoy all the instagrammable areas especially the huge rocket which they will be placing in front of the stage. This will be really huge. Proceeds of this will be for the Hueniverse foundation. Details will be at Hueniverseph.com.

The ultimate dream is for Pinoys not to actually have to go to other countries because this is the perfect thing to happen in the country. They are hopeful it would encompass ages, people can bring their friends and family, make this a yearly event. They have a secret performer, but it will be divulged on the 14th so watch out for that. They also announced tickets will also be sold at 399 for the Gold Lite Section so everyone has the capacity to go there. They will also have arrangements for security, no things should go beyond 12 inches for bags. The long party will be from 12pm noon til 3am the next day. They will be also encouraging to report those who wouldn’t follow their guidelines, security is tight so don’t even try doing something bad!

Ticket Prices are at Php 2,999 for Platinum, Php 999.00 for Gold and Php 399.00 for Gold Lite. There is a VIP section but of course is offered to a select few.

So for those evil doers, you got no place here. For those who want good vibes, who want to have a good time and forget about your problems for a few hours, come and get entertainment at the HUEniverse Music Festival. This will be at the Filinvest City Events Grounds.

You shouldn’t miss this!

Angelica, Sam and John Launch Bright Bulb Productions

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Had the chance to drop by the launch of Bright Bulb Productions and "Malaya"(Free) which is the new MTV of talented singer Moira Dela Torre. This has been part of a soundtrack for a movie they did a couple of months ago but they didn't have a music video with it and they started it off. Sam Milby has been good friends with Moi, John and Angelica so they decided to make this their first official venture under their new production company.Moira is definitely the talk of the town because of her songs which recently gained airplay plus "Malaya" climbed up the Billboard Philippines charts so they felt it was just the right time.

John Pratts directed the shoot with a single camera on hand and he says "While editing it we felt that the emotions was right, this was Moira's personal story, a song that was for her Grandma. Freeing someone is hard, but you have to let go even if it's painful. It was easy to direct them because you can tell them what your vision is and they give it in one shot. It wasn't sad during the shoot. I think on the scenes, I caught them on the most vulnerable parts of their lives. I want to make them a part of the cast and make a concept that would be perfect for them. It was just awkward at first but since they are involved in production they gave it all and more because they are invested in it."

Angelica had a hand in the creatives and says the process was pretty easy since she was working with people she already knew, she adds "For me if you love someone, you have to fight for it but never force it. If they don't want you, it's not real love if you don't give them their happiness. I was a bit shy when those kissing scenes happened but it was inspiring to actually do that. When I started kissing him I didn't want to stop. It was addicting. (Then they laughed) The scenes in Moira's MTV was more of an open ended wide conceptualized thing so in a nutshell we just did it without any scripts. We just talk and execute. We didn't use any personal experience or talk about it otherwise we would have all gone home and packed up the shoot. The things we do elsewhere, it was raw and people could relate to that. It was just good to do it. I didn't have an awkward phase but just followed their direction because I know how to put up a wall between professionals and friends."

Sam Milby was in good spirits, he gamely answered he plethora of questions about love and letting go asked by other people in the small talk and says "It must really be that way, if you love someone you have to laugh about things. It would be more okay to free them if you value yourself. I don't know where to cry, I was just sad there and on the scene you just have to be mum. If you are guilty you just don't have to say anything just like what happened there. For me it was awkward at first because I never worked with him in that setup, but since it's a music video it was light even if the song was so sad. It came out fine because we could communicate easily. We know our own strengths and we work quite nicely and I even do tech, so I suggest things. That's how we work together."

For those who want to see the video, here it is as posted on their Youtube channel:

Saw this already earlier and I think it was awesome. It had that raw feeling that takes you in the situation, Angelica and Sam both had us engulfed at the flames of their pain, his eyes of guilt included. You'll see more of this and their future works because by the looks of it, this is just the start. Perhaps soon, they'll get to do short films, full length ones and release it in movie houses.

They assured us they will.
