SHOPEE Breaks Records this 12.12 BIG Christmas Sale

Saturday, December 12, 2020

This is just some news over the shopping habits of Filipinos this Christmas season, Shopee just got hold of the numbers and it has been astounding. Compared to last years shopping activities, this year, Shopee has garnered a whopping 4x the amount of items sold on the platform compared to 2019. This 12.12 Big Christmas sale has officially broken records in just the first hour and there are also several shopping habits seen on the platform.

Top purhcases came from Home & Living (congrats titos and titas of Manila), Men's Apparel (because your man deserves it), Health and Personal Care (because we need to fight covid and also look good). Most purchases came from Metro Manila, next is South Luzon and last is North Luzon. The top shopper for the platform made 100 orders on this day and the most popular product are Men's Joggers. (It's pretty cold and nippy these past few days and men want something comfy and protect them from the cold nights LOL). They sold around 30,000 pieces of it. Next product comes close at 20,000 for shoe box organizers, which reminds me, I need a lot of that LOL!

Information came straight from Shopee, so if you haven't downloaded the app yet, you better do so you can save a lot, and get what you want this Christmas. It's available on Google Play and the App Store, don't let me stop you!

Big Things Coming on SHOPEE's 12.12 BIG Christmas Sale

Friday, December 04, 2020

Oh yes big things are coming on SHOPEE's 12.12 BIG Christmas Sale. We got the chance to see what will happen this December and the grand day on 12.12 earlier including an appearance from Jose Mari Chan and the one and only Queen of all Media Ms. Kris Aquino. Shopee also told us some of their milestones and what the next few days would look like with the 12.12 event coming our way.

Martin Yu, Director of Shopee Philippines shares "2020 has accelerated everything digital. Shopee has innovated its platform in the region and has driven growth despite the pandemic. This brings the human touch to online shopping. Consumers want to be entertained, informed and Shopee has made changes to make it more meaningful. Livestream has increased 10 times across the region. From January to September this year, it has quadrupled. Some of our partner brands have also increased sales and have captivated more users and changed the lives of a lot of Filipinos. Consumers get overwhelmed shopping online and we are personalizing the experience by refining our recommendation engines to fit your needs. This has been AI driven, and at Shopee there is no one size fits all solution so we tailor fit it to Filipinos. In integration efforts, our logistics system, payments and Shopee mall has been further strengthened. We have daily segments, a new ambassador with Kris Aquino and have launched different programs to support our shoppers and sellers. We are also happy to have been able to give back through the Shopee Bayanihan in app donation drive. We have pledged 10,000 vaccines for DOH, launched campaigns for the benefit of front liners too.

He added "On December 12 itself, there will be nonstop promos on the app itself. Flash deals every ten minutes, free shipping, big disounts with big brands. Thanks to participating brands who have given us their support. We are also doing 12.12 Big Christmas TV Special on December 12 Saturday at 10AM. Stay tuned for that! We couldn't have done this without you! Maraming salamat po!"

They awarded several brands for also doing good on the platform. They had several successful campaigns in the recent months. It has proved to be successful in sales too!

Father Christmas Jose Mari Chan also had a surprise and quips "To my Shopee family, thank you so much. Christmas is family, I will  spend it with my children and my grandchildren. I will be singing my newest Christmas song for you today. Merry Christmas! My wish for you is good health, to return to our families, remember to love your family during this pandemic, we really hope for the best for all of us."

I was super ecstatic to see Ms. Kris Aquino in the same virtual room as ours and she says "Shopping is my hobby and I've been buying things off Shopee during quarantine. I have broken Shopee Pay. I am so happy to be part of Shopee that's why I'm always happy. I want to sing with Joe (ahahaha "that signature laugh"). Thank you to Shopee for increasing riders during 11.11 because I read the comments I see on my social media channels, you are helping a lot of families. I am praying for more things this 12.12 so we can help more. We need to hold hands, help each other out to bring back the economy. I salute Shopee for not giving up, now there are thousands of riders delivering for their work and families. When I get my Shopee products delivered, it is my happy day when I receive my items. I want to be able soon to have Shopee pay cards so I can show my appreciation to front line workers, you know it feels good to be appreciated, Filipinos need it right now especially the front liners. The best way to do that is stay home, stay safe and do Shopee so they feel good while they are at home."

There will also be some huge discounts with brands from the Shopee mall and if you also use other payment channels.

For those who don't know yet after all that info LOL, the 12.12 Big Christmas Sale will happen from November 18 to December 12. UNIQLO's Give The Gift of LifeWear

Tuesday, December 17, 2019

It's the holidays and what better way to spend it than shopping right? Well no, our friends from UNIQLO had a different idea. Today we were with kids from Bantay Bata 163 and the SOS Children's Village so they could experience the same, shop for their own gifts provided for by Uniqlo as they Give the Gift of LifeWear. Funny as it sounds, I haven't heard of it until today. Apparently, they have been doing this since they have set up shop in the Philippines (around seven years) and they bid this as an annual event. A pretty way to give back to the community.

I kinda snooped in on their activity, seeing them choose essentials such as shirts, shorts, sweats, underwear and socks had me felt so happy they are doing this. As you may know, some of them are neglected, abandoned or victims of violence and these organizations are helping them live normal lives. To ultimately be productive and independent. Good thing there are private corporations that are helping them too.

Kids were all super happy about their hauls, I could imagine, they have new clothes now which they can wear not just for the holiday season, but the whole year round!

As part of the treat, lovely Lea Salonga sang a few Christmas songs for them. Jose Mari Chan followed suit and gave a duet with the Disney princess, ahh it was just like listening to a concert, I'm sure the kids felt so loved!

Thanks to the volunteers, the Uniqlo staff who helped them to choose their outfits. There were about 120 of them but it was organized, I'm sure next year there would be more. Keep this going UNIQLO! It warms my heart knowing you are also doing this in different communities in the country but you're not even saying you do. Bless your heart!

Oh and for those who would like to help, Uniqlo also collects old but usable clothes which they give to far flung communities, you should do that if you have extras. It goes to good people.
