Brigiding, Precious Paula Nicole and Vinas Deluxe aka DIVINE DIVAS

Getting their rightful place in the spotlight are RuPaul Dragrace Philippines' brightest Brigiding, Misis ng Bayan Vinas Deluxe and 1st PH Dragrace Superstar Precious Paula Nicole. They're going to have their own concert entitled DIVINE DIVAS: The Ultimate Drag Experience which will happen on February 10, 2023 at the New Frontier Theater at Araneta City. This is produced by Nathan Studios (of the Ataydes) and Fire and Ice Live (the production company of Ice Seguerra and Liza Dino-Seguerra).

The same production houses have already worked on Ice Seguerra's concert called #BecomingIce which was very successful that it warranted another installment in Cebu on February 18th, at the Waterfront Hotel. We were also informed they will be doing a Davao leg and a tour of North America and some countries in the Middle East (in the near future).

Certainly, they've seen something special about these PH drag queens, and honestly, they've represented the country proud in the international stage. They are already talented individually, and seeing them perform together, was on another level. Here's a taste of what's in store for you IF you watch the show next month!

And this is just the tip of the iceberg, because during their interview, they divulged that they will have a different repertoire than what they are performing in the bars they've performed in. I personally asked what dreams they still have, and aside from the successful careers, they're putting up their own business too, to ultimately have their own bar where they don't just cater to the fabulous LGBTQIA+ scene, where everyone will be recognized as the talented people that they are - equals.

Alden Richards for ADRENALINE RUSH

I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. Honestly, I miss this guy a lot because the last interview I had with him was during MMFF with Maine Mendoza, so that was a long time ago. Good thing he’s staging a concert this September at the Kia Theater and fans have been waiting for this too I’m sure.

In the press conference, I asked Alden about the venue and he says “Why Kia? It’s because I have been able to do shows in Kia Theater before and now that we know the place, we will be maximizing the venue because we will do things not just on stage but on the audience side too. I’ll be doing several stunts which we haven’t done in previous shows and that’s what will happen on September. We haven’t announced who will be our guests because we want everyone will be surprise. You may expect the expected people to be there. About Victor Magtanggol, I am so happy to have turned most of the show’s detractors into fans of the show after they have watched it. They went into complaining first before they did watch the show. The album has originals, it will be different, we know we have different kinds of listeners now. Majority of what is in it will be original. In the concert it will be super difficult to do the song and dance numbers. It’s a dream for me to do a bigger venue next time but we will have to make the venues of these few concerts be sold good. GMA Records is so nice to believe in me and produce things for me, singing is a bonus and it’s something for the records, I will be still doing acting gigs all the time. I ask my friends to pray for me before every show I do. We will be doing things off stage so it will be different for me and I am excited. I want my family to be there and I am so happy to see them there also the last time. The show will not be a narrative but the sequences are planned, not structured. I was consulted since conceptualization, and I had collaborations in planning, choosing songs. There will be themes per segment, there will be personal stuff and parts dedicated to special people in my life.”

He adds “When I get concerts I make sure to do my best so that the people who trust me won’t get disappointed. I mean with all the trust that they have put on me, it’s only right that I give something back.”

Johnoy Danao, Ebe Dancel and Bullet Dumas on IISA Concert at the KIA Theater

They are no strangers to the Philippine music scene but have yet to really gain thread in mainstream. Hard to admit, such talented performers like them don’t really get enough spotlight in the business. That’s going to change because they’ve pretty much made headway in their previous concerts and I think they don’t mind if it would take time, they are taking the next step. They are showcasing their musical talent with surprise guests and Manila String Machine in a concert called IISA slated on June 9 at the KIA Theater. This is good news.

IISA means being one, as Ebe puts it, “It’s a team up, it’s what we’ve become, we weren’t really friends at first but now even our family members know each other. We were supposed to do it this March, but we had problems putting this up. We now have a following, so we are doing this as a treat to 3D fans. We know each others quirks, we don’t even fight, 3 different personalities but we are like a family. It’s a whole army with us, so our rehearsals would require a lot of time to do that. We also have friends we would like to invite in the concert.

Bullet Dumas adds “Manila String Machine will be with us, so it’s going to be different. When we started we had low expectations, so every time we had an opportunity, small gigs, the singapore one, we make it memorable for everyone. When you watch us, we won’t waste your time, now it’s a bigger venue, bigger things to do in that show. Decisions are also easy in our group because we are three, we know each other personally.”

Johnoy Danao says “We thought about it at first, we have our group now, the concept is about being on stage, even if we are a lot of musicians, it’s only going to be one music. In terms of records, we did random things, our vibe is just like a gathering of friends, if one sings one thing, we do it even if he can only sing the chorus. If they go to our show, they’ll hear something different, it’s like an anniversary, like a treat for people and we have bands, a full orchestra to make you happy.”
