Wednesday, May 18, 2022

Just got home from the Lenovo LEGION event at the Whitespace Events Hall in Makati City. Pretty sure there's a lot of people looking for the next generation laptops from the brand that held the number one spot last year. Gamers, students, creators and professionals probably have seen how they listened to consumers, and today is a momentous occasion to bring their big guns out!

Lenovo GM Mike Ngan says "Thank you for being with us today from almost two years of not seeing each other physically. Today, we are working and presenting with our business partners Microsoft and Intel. When we launched the Legion brand we were in the 6th place, we continued to develop and started climbing the ranks. 2021 we became number 1 in terms of revenue sales. A lot of our customers are asking for Legion and established a name of its own. We are on our second generation of Legion products and we are launching it today."

Tristan Ver Gonzalez Product Manager for LEGION says "Our core ever since has been gaming, but we don't stop there. We at Legion deliver the best hardware, our customers enjoy their product and have excellent customer service. The most bang for the buck laptop, IdeaPad gaming 3i. All new chassis, new display at 16 inch, rear I/o ports, latest connectivity in a gaming laptop. It is available in onyx gray and glacier white. This supports type c charging, 8hr battery life, thunderbolt support, display ports and a 16 inch 16:10 panel so you can view more and scroll less."

Legion 5i is very thin, comes in Mg and Aluminum Metal Cover, thermally efficient, larger exhaust, quad heat pipe layout, improved CPU heat sink. Has 12th gen Core i7 processor, ddr5 memory, gen4 SSD, plus 3 year warranty.

Their most premium 16 inch gaming laptop is the Legion 7 series. With the Legion 7i and the Slim 7i, it's got all metal trim, zero bump, thinner than previous gen of laptops. The LEGION 7i and Lite 7i has 12TH GEN Intel core i9 HX and can handle all things powerful.  It comes with 3 year accidental damage protection aside from the usual and additional XBOX Game Pass for serious gamers out there.

I'm sure this is just the start, go check out the Lenovo Legion social channels to know more about these products and price points. According to ballpark figures, some of them are in the 69K range up to 120+ so it just depends on your laptop requirement on what you want to choose.

Saturday, September 18, 2021

Looks like the folks from LENOVO are taking their gaming rigs seriously as they come out with three new products, the ideapad Gaming 3i, the Lenovo Legion Legion 5i Series and the Legion 5i Pro.

The ideapad Gaming 3i has 15.6 FHD ips, 1920x1080 resolution, 512GB PCI SSD, 1TB HDD, battery life that can last 8 hours and be charged 50% in 30mins. It's also got 2 USB 3.2 ports, ethernet jack, headphone and mic jack, and wishes to be your best buddy in gaming. The device has got 165Hz refresh rate that used to be done in monitors, but now can do it on smaller form factor (laptop). You can use this for media, movies, editing, all that good thing on this laptop. Equipped with an intel i7 11th gen processor, with more power and less power consumption, it could last the whole work day. It's also easy to carry around and will be available in Lazada, Shopee, Lenovo and Legion concept stores and authorized resellers. It's only available in Shadow Black color. Price starts at around Php 59,995.

The Lenovo Legion Legion 5i on the other hand comes in Stingray White and Phantom Blue. It looks great, but don't fret, it is powerful as it is equipped with GEForce RTX 30 series gracphics card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 in this case), AI Engine, 15.6 QHD display which any gamer would love. It also works on a fast 165 Hz refresh rate and less than 3 ms response time. It also is equipped with a TrueStrike Keyboard system present in the products launched with this one. They also have Nahimic Gaming Audio which gives you a more immersive experience and sound quality. It is also equipped with 3 USBA 3.2 ports, so you have more stuff to stick to it like cameras, earphones, more peripherals if you want to attach more devices. It's not that heavy either and is easy to carry around, and of course, has got the latest GPU line. If you want on, you've got to shell out around Php 72,995 for it.

For the more serious gamers, I'd like to suggest you get the Legion 5i Pro. It's got a 16 inch QHD with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Also has an unbelievable 12 hours max clock speed, a built in 720p front camera, Thunderbolt 4 ports, TrueStrike Keyboard system and is available in Storm Grey and Stingray White colorways. They also have a 3 year Legion customer support for devices which you can get so you get covered if service is needed. This is also available in Lazada and authorized Lenovo stores nationwide. You can get it for Php 124,995. It comes in Stingray White color and is equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor and an RTX3070 graphics card, something you'll need for those pro ranked games. It's a dream in a nutshell and is pretty nice to have when you're planning to beat foes on your FPS games.

If you want to push for more, get the Lenovo Legion 7i. It's a beast carrying a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Graphics card and next generation Legion Coldfront 3.0 thermals so you don't have to worry about overheating. It's not bulky and has a slim form factor, also a whopping WQXGA display and 165 Hz refresh rate. Turn up the volume and you'll hear how good the 3D Nahimic Audio is so you'll hear those footsteps when enemies walk by easily. This comes in Storm Grey and costs Php 169,995. Make sure you're buying from official stores in Shopee and Lazada, and authorized ones if they're third party so you qualify for the warranty (we need to be secured of course!). If you want to know more about these gaming rigs, check out lenovo.com/ph/en/legion because it's all there!

Lenovo also had us enjoy a few games with it during a stream on their FB channel, you should still see it posted there, just look for Lenovo Legion!
