LG Showcases New Monitors and Gives to PH Naval Air Wing

Tuesday, July 05, 2022

Took a short trip to BGC a few days ago for an epic event from our friends at LG Philippines. They're showcasing their latest monitors and surely, I was already drooling of the huge ones on display on our table because I've been dreading to get one for gaming purposes especially for Valorant and GTA V. I also work with the same setup and having something that can accommodate all the windows for programs and files that I need to function especially when there's a lot to write about. So far, I love what I'm seeing from them. In this TOP GUN themed party, it was fit to see their most technologically advanced monitors and they used it legibly in different scenarios.

From spreadsheets, work related stuff, movies, graphics, they all displayed quite nicely at the event which was also attended by celebrities. Andrei Felix hosted the event and one by one, other celebrities like Eric Tai aka Eruption, PBA's LA Tenorio, Photographer par excellance Magic Liwanag, actress Myrtle Sarrosa and all around performer Gab Valenciano took us around for a tour to look at what's new with LG monitors.

They used the 32GQ950 OLED Monitor for a race car game and it performed well under these conditions. The LG UltraGear 32GQ950 had 4K resolution, details were on point, the 144Hz refresh rate was something gamers like me would benefit in especially in first person shooting games where lag is an enemy. It also has very nice output as blacks and whites are deeper and brighter, you won't be asking for adjustments right from the start. They also used the 48GQ900 OLED Monitor for console games, and because it's got faster response time and higher refresh rate, you'll see your character take action as soon as keypress happens, no delays in platform games or 1v1 modes because it can keep up with you. You can also see less glare and reflection, something that is quite important especially when you are editing images on the screen on normal work days. Photographer Magic Liwanag showcased the LG Dual Up 28MQ780-B which he uses on portrait mode, beneficial for creatives who would want to see the whole picture then work with a lot of other things while you're rendering videos of events on the side. Myrtle Sarrosa on the other hand loves the 29WP500-B 29-inch which is a 21:9 ratio UltraWide monitor. It gives her more than enough immersive experience when she's playing her favorite games on PC plus do her tasks if she needs to do office work on the side. Gab on the other hand enjoys the LG UltraGear 32GN500 because it gets all those ghosting problems gone as it utilizes NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium at start, something people used to pay for to make things better. There were lots more in the event but I got a little excited when real NAVY personnel came in and met with Sungjae Kim the Managing Director for LG Philippines.

They even used this setup with a real flight simulator software, like the real deal.

LG Executives went up the stage and announced something good, they gave 30 LG UltraGear 32GN500 monitor units to the Naval Air Wing of the Philippine Navy that was also there for the occasion. That part was really touching to give these quality monitors to people that serve the country, in my books, that's huge especially knowing that they'll be able to help a lot of communities with it.

Real Pilots Appeared!

Congratulations to LG Philippines and to the men and women who organized this event M360 PR+Activations Agency. Haven't had fun in a while so this was something really good to experience physically, after being stuck at home for a number of years because of this pandemic, thank you!

ACER Projector Upgrades and New Monitors Out

Sunday, November 01, 2020

Good things come to those who wait and yes, ACER is bringing in new upgrades on recent projector ranges and new monitors that are fit for home or business use.

They've been doing quite good and is extremely visible in the projector market and now they're raising the bar by including new wireless LED 1080p projectors with 3K lumens and laser projectors of 3,1K lumens. Aside from that, they have also released new Acer monitors that are equally nice.

For the PD and VD series, they've got the VD6510i and the PD1530i. The first is a wireless 3000 lumens LED projector which can do movies without a hitch while the latter has its colorspace twice larger than ordinary lamp projectors, which can be turned on and off in seconds. That would save you time in meetings or bonding time with family if you're fond of that.

For a more energy efficient one, they've got the Acer XL series. This includes XL1220, XL1320W and XL1520. It delivers clear 1080p videos while staying very economical. It also lasts long on tests, having passed IP6X certifications and a 30,000 hour lifespan which means you're bound to be with it for years. That's a lot of productive meetings eh?

They also have the Acer UL and PL series which covers venues that needs projectors big or small. The Acer UL5630 is equipped with a laser diode which can do 4500 lumens worth of brightness, so imagine how big that can go. The PL7610, PL7610T and PL7510 on the other hand can handle 30K hour lifespan as well, so you can do presentations, movies, or commercially use it if needed.

Acer's B248Y, CBL272U, BL270 are all remarkable monitors from them. The first being the safest as it is designed with that in mind. It's eyesafe certified, has Acer Lightsense and Colorsense. It is FHD as well, and can be swiveled around even in a portrait way. The
CBL272U has HDR10 support so you get clear looking display. It also has BlueLightShield Pro so you never have to worry about blue light hurting your eyes. This supports 178 degree viewing angles so you get the largest vistas when you need to. The BL270 has about the same safety features but has nice looks courtesy of the flexible placements and disappearing bezels. It also works with the Acer Smart Console App so you can easily display stuff even from your phone. Think of the things you can do with it!

If you're looking for one or more of these, make sure you're following @acerph on social channels as they're also discussing them there. I bet yah!

Philips/AOC Launches E and V Line of Monitors

This is something you would want to look forward to if you are an ESport fan or just working in your office cubicle. AOC and Philips just launched a new line of monitors that would be perfect for your gaming needs or even professional use. I often use them in spreadsheets and real time monitoring of social media so I’m not new to their brand.

“Good morning everyone, thank you for coming to our event. We’ll give you an overview of what we released this month. The global market from 2010 to 2018 is declining together with personal computers, but this year we grew 1.5% prolly because of ESports which is going to be part of the Olympics pretty soon. A lot of people are into ESports, even establish school labs. The growth is attributed to us in the non bundle market, we do not have laptops or desktops but have a lot of government shipments worldwide who want us to be part of their system. It’s not because of business doing well on unbundled LCD monitor market, but a large part of this is the Department of Education project. The market is better than other countries who do double digit drops, the forecast is promising though because it is still 35% market share. This is why we are bringing in new products in the market, to see how we get new products aside from monitors.” Kan Yeung of AOC/Philips said.

Regional Product Manager of Philips Paul Tsai says “We want more market share in the Philippines, while delivering Professional, Performing Product. Better is always happening and we want life to be better than before... and these monitors look better. Better contrast value, you see more details, vivid color, better brightness, like HDR so you can see something as close as what your eyes can see in the real world. Your monitors, devices, xbox, ps4, chromecast and Roku all have HDR and other standards in the market. They provide this and is the next big thing of displays. The new generation of Philips monitors are the 1st Vesa PC HDR 400 certified 4K2K Display. It’s got superb video quality, DTS Surround Sound and much like a theater. It’s got better color even on our Ultra Wide Color E9 because of it’s vivid true to life colors and gets higher number of colors, wider color gamut which happens only on our ultra wide color monitors. We also have them with more curvature ratio, uses AMD FreeSync for smoother gameplay. This can be also used for commercial purposes, it’s reliable even in a hostile call center environment. We also have the new V7 model to protect your eyes (flicker free) which is good for businesses that use it all day long. It’s also got edge to edge glass so you see a lot on your documents in an office setting. It’s better performance, design and applications, all from Philips monitors. (They are referring to V Line Model Number 223V7QHSB, the E Line Model Number 248E9QHSB and 328E9QJAB)”

For those who want a piece of the monitors, Philips and 20th Century Fox also has just partnered up, so every purchase of 24 Inch monitors (and up) will get them a free ticket for BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY at the Directors Club in SM Megamall , 8:30PM and will be legendary. This will be shown on October 31. Philips hopes to rock your world in Cebu and Davao too, and it will happen very soon!

Congratulations in your launch AOC/Philips!
