81st Oktoberfest at the Solaire Tent

Wednesday, September 04, 2019

Had another wonderful taste of Oktoberfest once again at the Solaire Tent in ParaƱaque City this morning. This is officially their 81st year of doing this and yes, it's just becoming bigger and bigger.

The German Club Manila happily shared how they have been able to break records in the number of crowds and liters of beer, German sausages consumed every year and 2019 should be no different. This year they are doing it in three days on October 17, 18 and 19. It is expected to be full so make sure you wear those lederhosen trousers and fancy dirndls because this is the authentic one, it comes with a full Bavarian band called Bavarian Sound Express (OMG I miss the 99 Luft Balloons medley)!

The desserts like the classic strudel and Kaiserschmarnn have to be noted because it just was heavenly with the cream and vanilla ice cream.

I heard they are prepping about 4-5 liters of Weihenstephan per person so there won't be shortchanging on the beer supply. You can book tickets via Oktoberfest.ph and purchase them online.

The event was graced by the current German Club President Tobias Rast, Solaire VP for F&B Knit Becker and VP for Culinary Michael Dinges. The first photo above was the yearly dance we had to do before the start of festivities, it's a great way to break the ice and celebrate Oktoberfest like how the Bavarians do.

Call the German Club via 8942899 or 8184236 because this is going to be the biggest authentic German Oktoberfest in Manila, and you wouldn't want to miss this for the world! They will also have separate raffle draws including trips to Europe. Not even joking!

Raise your glass and say Prost!

80th German Club Oktoberfest at Solaire

Wednesday, August 15, 2018

I wouldn't wanna miss this for the world.

It's Oktoberfest season once again and this year they are holding it in Solaire's Oktoberfest Tent. Hosted by the German Club Manila, this is their 80th year and they are building the tent just for the occasion (a whole 2,400 square meter that is) so they can pack more people, booze, Bavarian food in it. This will happen in 3 fun days from October 4-6, 2018. So what to expect? Easy...

5.5 Million Pesos worth of prizes will be given away to lucky raffle winners. They are doing this together with their sponsors Etihad Airways, Lufthansa Technik Philippines, Royal Cargo, Smart Infinity, Ticketworld (where you can buy the tickets too!), FoodPanda, Asia Grand View, The Peacock Garden, Transwing Art Gallery, Allianz PNB, CS Garment Inc, Bosch, Leather Plus, BDO, Rhenus Logistics, Brotzeit, Schenker, Nivea, Dusit Thani, Veltrup, Siemens, Riekermann and a whole lot of other German companies.

Also 25,000 Liters of wheat beer from the makers Weihenstephan, Schnitzel, Sausages, Pretzels, plus a 12 man German Band called Bavarian Sound Express flown in to the country. The party is only for 18 years old and above, for obvious reasons. So bring yourself and enjoy free flowing beer, food just for the ticket price.

Don’t say I didn’t tell you!

Go visit Ticketworld.com.ph for ticket inquiries, it’s all there! You may also check the seat plan via http://www.oktoberfest-manila.ph/oktoberfest-prices/.

If you have questions or want to  reserve a table or two, you may call German Club Manila at (02) 894-2899/ (02) 818-4236 or email them via reservations@germanclub.ph.

OKTOBERFEST Happening This Weekend at Sofitel Manila

Thursday, October 05, 2017

When I got to Sofitel a few weeks ago, I knew I was in for a FUN afternoon because the preparations have already started for the 79th OKTOBERFEST here in Manila. Set at the majestic Sofitel Manila, Germans from all over the Philippines, Filipinos and other nationalities will converge at the Sofitel Garden Tent for a night of merrymaking, tons of men in tights, women in pigtails, and just about all the BEER, Sauerkraut, Sausages, Pretzels and sweets you can devour all in three nights. The main event though will happen on October 7, 2017 and tickets are sold through the German Club so get them via their email address reservations@germanclub.ph. October 6 will be for German corporations and entities, and the main celebration will be on October 7. During last year, I could still see a few people buying tickets in front of the venue, aside from that, there were a couple more raffles that they hold via a ticket they sell separately. If you purchase that, you could win tons of prizes including a trip which some of the German companies actually give away.

Just like this cute cow on the tower, you'll never ever run out of beer because they have tons of it to consume.

Plus the sausages, the saurkraut and other German dishes that they have are prepared exquisitely by the Chefs of Sofitel Manila, and by the German standards, they do it the LEGIT way.

So what are you waiting for? Go and email them or head over to Sofitel Manila and enjoy it like the Germans would do. Ein Prosit!
