One "Pawsome Day" at Golden Haven

Friday, September 08, 2023

For those who have an additional and special member in the family, this would certainly be good news for you. If you're taking care of a dog, a cat or anything in between, Golden Haven Memorial Parks Inc. recently held their "Pawsome Day" at all their affiliated properties nationwide. Folks brought their furry kids to their over 30+ properties and had a grand time playing with them last August 19th. Much of the properties were filled to the brim with dogs, cats, and other animal friends, all aimed to bond with their furry pets while inside the confines of the sprawling property.

They also invited several pet related businesses in the event so the fur parents won't have to go far in order to take care of their pals, even went to lenghts in doing a pet fashion show during the event. The audience certainly enjoyed the various clothes ther wore on the catwalk, of which made them extra adorable. It was a mix of barking, laughing and music in the venue, something they wanted to do to make each property a place not just for our loved ones, but to celebrate life while we're living.

The President of Golden Haven Ms. Emy Lustado says "Holding this event affirmed our efforts to be not just a place of peace for the departed, but to also have awesome experiences with their loved ones. Pets have always been cherished confidants, and give us a source of boundless happiness. It is but right to give them this Pawsome day!"

This is their second year of holding this event, and by the looks of it, they're raring to make this an annual thing for the whole Golden Haven community. If you want to know more, you can search Golden Haven on social channels of their website goldenhaven.com.ph today.

PAWS Pushes for Spay/Neuter with New KAPON Program

Friday, February 04, 2022

Anna Cabrera Head of PAWS

T
he Philippine Animal Welfare Society has been established since 1954. They're a non profit, volunteer based organization dedicated for the protection of animals. In the country, they've been pushing for pet care and adoption like no other. This time, they're campaigning for spay/neutering so we could better take care of our pets. PAWS doesn't enforce collection of strays, the government does that, nor are they a destination for pets that owners wouldn't be able to care for as these are done by city pounds (though no government facility accept "for adoption dogs").

Anna Cabrera who heads PAWS says "The stray problem can be solved by neutering. Strays are homeless dogs/cats/animals. As of 2019, there are about 12 Million of them in the country. They usually start out as pets, when owners can't afford to take care of them, they throw animals on the streets and reproduce with other strays hence the problem at hand. The cycle continues til now. If you don't spay neuter pets, they get pregnant and more unwanted dogs, cats or animals. Often, people don't see the connection with the spay/neutering with taking care of pets. Sadly rabies is super high in deaths in the world and the Philippines ranks 7. It can also cause mange, transmissible venereal tumor and other disease. It's also very contagious. There are also problems of dog feces in the streets, it can cause a lot of problems with humans too. They are also probe in scavenging in garbage dumps, which is another problem. They can chase people, after runners, bikers, cars. If they get bitten, that'll be another issue. There is a huge need for animal control, this is why we need the Anti Rabies Act so enforcers would be able to enforce laws and protect humans as their mandate. All strays will be rounded up under law. You can't put the burden on animal welfare groups because chances are, their shelters are all full. Spay and Neutering is a strategy that is sustainable. "Kapon for all pets" is a solution, done by a vet, under humane procedures. It reduces chances of breast cancers, uterine infections, no heat cycles, less spraying and markings. This brings down numbers of unwanted pets too. This is a nationwide approach encouraging private spay-neuter programs in partnership with PAWS, veterinary clinics, the government and their respective local units. We believe pet homelessness can be resolved in 5 years. PAWS will provide 50,000 pesos worth of surgical materials for 10 free spay/neuter every month for participating LGU's. We would want this to be written into law, hopefully done nationwide. February 22 is International Spay Day, and hopefully we can have good numbers to announce when this is done in local government units. Given the right procedure, one person at a time, we will keep hammering at it, we don't give up, we can do so much more!"

You see, with this procedure, pets would be healthy, gain weight, even prevent the ridiculous amount of population of dogs/cats, stray animals which could not be managed by owners in order to take care of them all properly. This way, they won't be in harms way. If you want to know more, visit paws.org.ph or pawsphilippines on FB and IG.

Saturday, October 15, 2016

Heads up kids and not so kids anymore!

It looks like the word is out! For the whole month of October (Weekends for the Diner) Trinoma is giving you a treat! They probably know that Halloween is just around the corner and since they've been holding the Choose Your Own Food Adventure call all this month, they're letting you experience a full blown Zombie Outbreak Diner and the oh so cute PAWS Pet Cafe too!

The Zombie Outbreak Diner is located at the Garden Area right beside the fountain in the front entrance of the mall. Just go right after the guards and you'll see it there. Now this ain't your ordinary diner of course because it's going to be a whole different experience if you need to PLAY while you're having lunch or dinner. The experience of being in the story was pretty interesting because this is a case of WHODUNNIT (A Crime Solving Game) and you might also get the chance to win prizes! Here's what happened during the launch!

Aside from this awesome dining experience, they've also got those cute little dogs and cats from Philippine Animal Welfare Society that put up their own kiosk at the third floor of the same mall. You basically just order coffee, get cat food or dog treats, then get to have tea or coffee with your friends and these lovely little furballs! Oh I just want to take them all home!

Anyway here's a short trip we did during the Dog day. There are cats too but it's scheduled on a different day. Both are so awesome, I want to take home adopt the white little dog :(

So come hurry and get your friends, family and yourself to Trinoma today! Aside from good things to buy, you can get these lovely dining destinations that's only available the whole month of October! Make sure you also visit the PAWS Pet Cafe just a few floors up from the Zombie Outbreak Diner, solve the mystery to help catch the one who killed the Doctor! Dun dun dun dunnn...

Thank you TRINOMA and Ayala Malls for having us! Super loved being there earlier!
