See Funny Mishaps in Filming "Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars"

Friday, June 23, 2023

When you get to do film, to act, write or direct it, what's the goal? Of course, it's to win an Oscar. Such is the story of this new film called "Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars" by MAVX Productions Inc. This very straightforward comedy stars actors Paolo Contis and Joross Gamboa. This is directed by Jules Katanyag (spirited writer of different TV series, films) and will be shown in cinemas starting June 28th.

The story will revolve around this big dream that Paolo Contis (the Producer Bobby B) and Joross Gamboa (the Director DMZ) has in making a movie that would qualify them to win the much coveted award. To start off, they'll be dealing with the biggest question of them all, where do they find the funds to make it? Aside from that, casting a stellar cast will be extra problematic especially since they're struggling to find those who would play "Aswangs" since it's going to be spinning around folklore and unimaginable concepts they wanted to execute in this new chapter in their lives. This will also involve their struggles, how to make ends meet, how to make their impossible dreams possible, and their fears that it'll all end up in shambles.

But what if a sudden twist of fate would change things? This starts several things to snowball to either make them win, or lose things in the end. The movie was intended to inspire people to go reach their goals, no matter how big or far it may be. There's also a lot of very touching things you should look forward to, so go make the trip down to movie houses and see why you need to watch "Ang Pangarap Kong Oskars".

The cast includes Kate Alejandrino, Long Mejia, Jon Santos, Gian Magdangal, Faye Lorenzo, Milo Elmido, Yukii Takahashi, Jun Quntana, Leo Bruno, Elaine Ochoa, Zweden Obias, Joseph Villanueva, Ian Ignacio, Paeng Sudayan, VJ Mendoza, Victor Medina, Edmar Guanlao and Jmee Katanyag. Remember, it shows this June 28th in cinemas nationwide!

Good Reasons to watch Heart Evangelista's "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon"

Monday, December 06, 2021

Looks like the much awaited I Left My Heart in Sorsogon series has not disappointed fans as it started not only with a good story, but a throng of characters that are quite interesting. For starters, this is Heart Evangelista's biggest comeback in primetime and by any standards, you could really see how she fits the role of Celeste Estrellado-Wenceslao. Celeste is a fashion designer who made a name in New York and came back to Manila. Like normal neighborhoods in Manila, there's actual gossiping, rumor mongering, bashers before her fashion show started. She also was figuring out how this would catapult who she is in Asia.

If I were not informed, I'd mistake this to be a movie because of the painstaking process of angles and effects they put into it. Not only that, each individual character had their own designer clothes in tow, so no one in their right mind came out silly, even the villains. Part of the show had heartwarming scenes because Celeste dedicated it to her Mom who passed. She leaves a single front seat for her every time she does a show.

Celeste is also going to have a go with relationships, that's where Paolo Contis and Richard Yap comes in. You'll be hooked with how they played with the dynamics of the different characters they played in the series, just hearing the stars playing it won't do justice, watch it because they've got the shows online in full episodes. If you miss one, just hop on GMANetwork.com for it. Aside from the main characters, Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara will be showing how they can spark romance. They also shot it fully in Sorsogon, so be aware how you would get the province in its purest form, its people, and the lovely sights you could see there.

You also won't know who's good and bad. You don't have to believe me, watch the episodes today!

Through Night and Day

Monday, November 12, 2018

This Alessandra De Rossi and Paulo Contis movie had so much to give. It’s a heartwarming story amidst the cold nights, days which they all shot in Iceland. The couple is cute, best friends when they were kids, neighbors too, sweethearts in highschool, got engaged and went to this absolutely gorgeous place in Europe.

Here’s a couple of things you could find interesting about this film.

Iceland is majestic - the trees, the flowers, the hills are all dreamy. Going around while bare, rustic and freezing, it didn’t matter as long as they are together. They also have weird weather, but the Aurora Borealis is just the perfect setting for romance. They will show that and a whole lot more unbelievable spots in the country.

Paulo’s timing is legendary. He’s funny, we all know that but his inserts here are reminiscent of the boyfriend girlfriend relationship we all wanted.

Alessandra is annoying, but the kind that is cute and if ever she does ask for something impossible, or bad, but she still gets away with it.

There will be small fights, the kind that hurts and builds up, when you think that you already know each other but when you rely on each other while traveling, you get to measure how much you are willing to sacrifice with each other. Half of the film is funny and heartwarming. In a way you will get to question that coming to the latter part of the movie.

When you get to see the same face everyday, when you find out all the flaws in relationships and the ways of finding your own happiness, do you give up? Do you lose all patience? How do you love? Where will you find yourself if you were in their shoes?

Go figure out by watching Through Night and Day in theaters starting November 14. This is produced by Viva Films, Octoarts Films and is graded A. Maybe that would convince you to watch this film. Don’t cry though, I have to warn you.
