MYMP Releases "Di Mo Lang Alam" Under PolyEast Records

Sunday, October 29, 2023

I've been an MYMP fan for a couple of years now. I'm not afraid to admit, I'm obsessed with the acoustic and heartbreaking songs they dished out in past albums, and hearing they're releasing a new single made my MYMP heat quite happy. For starters, they've got sisters Juliet Bahala and Ethyl Bahala singing for the band. This means it's a whole new plethora of music that they're going to do as it won't sound the same if they only had one vocalist. They're already awesome individually and since they're singing together, it's something different which Chin Alcantara welcomes. He says much of their music revolves around the singer, and the recent single they released called "Di Mo Lang Alam" had a more pop hopeful love song vibe. We met them at the SUPERSAM branch here in Scout Tobias in Quezon City.

Juliet is a very spirited songwriter, and she's got more songs in the pipeline which they plan to release in the near future, to hopefully complete an album. They have been working hard after renewing ties with PolyEast Records. The new music will certainly earn them another generation of fans, while hopefully not alienating those who love the previous songs they released. This is what Chin believes is his responsibility as a Producer, and I think he's done a remarkable work with this.

Here's our interview with the band last night, please enjoy!

"Di Mo Lang Alam" was something that has spurred from imagination, funny that it came from a day she forced herself to write. Juliet asserts that much of the upcoming songs they plan to release would be something relatable, with efforts to concentrate on what people go through at a certain stage in their lives. It's also about vulnerability, to allow yourself to muster up the courage to tell the one you love how you feel and the sacrifices you did for them. The band also has plans to make songs in English to cater to those who are outside the country and prefer it in that language. They also don't have concert goals yet, but much of the success they've achieved in the past few years have always been that way, and hopefully, the same happens in the next couple of months.

They do have plans to make a music video for the new single, but for the meantime, you can go to the MYMP Facebook page to know more about where they are regularly performing. The single is now out on Spotify, Deezer, YouTube Music, Apple Music and other streaming platforms where available. You can also head on to the official PolyEast Records social channels to see where MYMP's music is going, because as far as what I've seen last night during their gig, it's going to be awesome!

Here's a little more chat about the time we talked about the health issues that Juliet went through and have been able to overcome,

I'd like to take this bit to thank the men and women from PolyEast Records and the MYMP management who hooked us up so we could talk to them. Again, thank you!

CEDRIC ESCOBAR Releases Debut Single "Di Na Ba" Under Polyeast Records

Tuesday, March 21, 2023

It must have been fate, least to say when Cedric Escobar was asked to perform as front act to the Introvoys' tour in the US. They were initially confused when he wasn't allowed to be "front act" and instead, asked to perform in the mid to test if he could sustain the energy of the crowd Introvoys were playing at a few years back. It was then when drummer, actor Paco Arespacochaga knew he had a gem in his hand, so he's mentoring him, his career together with record label Polyeast Records until today... as he releases his debut single called "Di Na Ba" announced in a press conference held at 12Monkeys in Estancia Pasig City. This is co-presented by B2B music distribution, tech and marketing corp FUGA. He has already performed in US tours of KZ, Jaya, JK and other Filipino artists and is excited for his first work being released locally.

Cedric says "I've been lucky to have been able to have Filipino fans because they really do support Filo artists like me. This has certainly been a dream, like a part of my vision board. I'm going to give it my 100 percent, really thankful for the opportunity!'

"He treats me as one of his sons and I do look up to Kuya Paco. Right now I am working on a lot of music, to hopefully release more this 2023."

Paco says "He really didn't want this song but when I invited him on stage, and at the end of the performance, everyone clapped. It's hard to mentor someone, but after that, it was just trust between us. I felt back then, he did do a lot of front acts already, so I didn't allow him to be front act, I put him in the middle of the set. It was to see the momentum of the crowd was going to be sustained and we did a lot of 90's songs. We did covers and he respects how the song was supposed to be sung, it didn't have vocal acrobatics. This is a two year journey, and I'm glad to see him here."

His single "Di Na Ba" can now be downloaded or streamed in all digital platforms, you can also check his performance video on Polyeast Records YT channel today. You can also follow Cedric Escobar's social channels to get to know him even more.

This was already launched through Polyeast's The LiVeRARY which was streamed on YouTube during the height of the pandemic where they let artists showcase their music on stream.

MARLO MORTEL: READY TO START Making Music Again!

Sunday, December 12, 2021

It's been a while since we've gotten to talk to Marlo Mortel, probably during his last movie which was ages ago. It's been a rough time for him especially during the pandemic as he really had a bad case of anxiety, and I can relate because I've gone through the same. He's got better and started writing songs... and having the urge to sing again. He also got back with Star Magic 2 months ago and raring to work in shows and movies, but before all that, he's introducing a new single called aptly, READY TO START.

Contrary to rumors, the song isn't about Marlo's personal experiences. This was actually a friend's relationship that was asked to be written into a song. But Marlo says, his friend experienced something that happens to a lot of people including him, so in a way he too can relate to it. That's when I started to also ask a few personal questions, which he gladly answered. One of which was the admission of having a girlfriend during the height of the MarNella love team, which he didn't publicize so he could protect her from rabid ones that sent death threats during that time. Here's our blog conference on video, enjoy!

Marlo is a kind man and he deserves all the success he's getting. He was also asked about working with Janella again and he was actually adamant to do that if given the chance. That's a nice premise and why not, they're very professional!

Oh by the way, the song READY TO START is produced by Polyeast Records and Marlo himself. Aside from artistic freedom, he was given by the recording company a chance to do other things creatively, which he feels was a very good arrangement when he started creating music again. Make sure you listen to his song on Spotify and other streaming platforms. The lyric video is also out so make sure you listen to it with that, so you would understand how painful love is, and how you could cherish it even more if you are in a relationship. I hope you enjoyed our talk with Marlo Mortel, and don't worry he's going to be appearing even more starting now, he promised that!
