ProPak Philippines Starts 4th Edition This Month

Wednesday, January 17, 2024

ProPak Philippines is getting their engines running for the 4th International Processing and Packaging Trade Event this coming January 31st to February 2nd at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Philippines. This is their 4th time doing it and this means there's a lot to learn with industry trends, business connections to make and starting of investments and opportunities in the country. They will also be having various companies showcase their products, do workshops for the public that would be beneficial for local and international corporations.

The press conference was attended by Ms. Rungphech Rose Chitanuwat Country General Manager for Informa Markets - Philippines, Ms. Blesila A. Lantayona the Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group Department of the Trade and Industry, Engr. Higinio Porte Jr. the President of the Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, Ms. Julieta Austria the President of Philippine Association of Food Technologists Inc., and Mr. Ustadz Alex M. Sultan, PhD the President of Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Philippines Incorporated.

Ms. Rungpek says "This will be our 4th edition, the 4th time we are holding ProPak Philippines in the country. There were over 50 seminar sessions from 40 speakers from around the world in the past ProPak. We are doing this because there is big potential in the Philippines. The Philippines is more into MSME and we are partnering with Thailand industries to give more options for sustainable packaging, like what the Philippines is doing in paper products. This is also free of charge, and there will be entertainment, plus various business innovations you can adapt from the show."

Ms. David from DTI ROG says "We are excited for the partnership we have in the event, the one town one Philippines is perfect for this. ProPak is aligned with our programs, it is a commitment of helping MSME's in the next three years. It is up for more growth, and they will showcase in different pavilions more ways to do product development, in transformative and we support this all the way!"

Engr. Porte Jr. of Pascual Laboratories shares "The industry is growing. Much of it though is still with foreign brands, it increased even before the pandemic. Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam have programs to help their local manufacturers and I wish the same would happen in the Philippines. Our raw materials are expensive because they are imported. The packaging materials also have the same fate. The market is big, and it is still growing. From cardiovascular, diabetic, oncology and mental health medicines, it has grown in demand even during the pandemic. We have r&d for natural and synthetic ones, do logistics and distribution, manufacture and partner with government agencies."

Ms. Austria of the PAFT says "Exhibitions like these serve as knowledge exchange and best for professionals and stakeholders. We are glad to be able to participate and share our expertise for the advancement of food technology in the country."

Mr. Ustadz Alex Sultan shared a lot of Halal pointers in consumer goods and says "As one of the Halal certification bodies in the Philippines, we prove products and services are free from harmful substances. Halal is for all and not just for Muslim only. It is very simple, if it is Haram, then it is not Halal. There is a global market for it. It promotes healthy living, organic, demands cleanliness. Thank you to ProPak as we partnered with them last year. We believe we can't run alone, we need to do that for everyone. They have been so enthusiastic in providing us a lot of products and manufacturers, and partner with them. We will be there for a seminar too."

ProPak Philippines is also going to be bigger this year. They will be occupying three halls as there will be over 200 exhibitors and 10,000 people to attend the event. This will be beneficial for MSME's and entrepreneurs. Plus more sessions facilitated by AIP Institute of Packaging, the DOST, Philippine Board of Investments and Philippine Printing Technical Foundation, Production and Operations Management Association of the Philippines, the Philippine Association of Food Technologists Inc. and the Halal International Chamber of Commerce and Industries of the Philippines and UP.

ASUS Releases All New INTEL Powered ASUS ZenBook Series

Friday, December 04, 2020

Looks like ASUS is not going to give you a breather after coming out with new models last month. This time, they've got us drooling over these new laptop computers in a lovely reveal event.

This evening, ASUS Philippines introduced new hardware powered by Intel processors on an ASUS ZenBook line they properly call The Incredibel Class. To test it out, they got world class furniture  designer Ito Kish, Cyndi Fernandez-Beltra the owner of Manila Moss and  actress, director, producer and princess of all trades Bella Padilla to do real world work with it, to tell us how it fared. They went hands on with the the new #ASUSZenBookS, the #ASUSZenBookFlipS and the lovely looking #ASUSZenBookFlip13. All of which are equipped with the new Intel 11th Gen Processors.

The ASUS ZenBook Flip S and ASUS Zenbook S utilizes the Intel Evo Platformso you get superior hardware performance that Intel can only deliver. Aside from that, the ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 carries stunning display and more power, one that is required in these times, where your workplace needs it. Without sacrificing looks, these laptop computers can perform above and beyond industry standards, one that you'll love for your office, home office (especially for the creatives), or just casual play.

For Ito Kish, he would like a high performing ASUS ZenBook Flip S UX371EA. He gets the Intel Evo Platform that gets the work done together with the 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 Processor that's in it. It's very efficient in power consumption, all because it's got an Intel® Iris® Xe graphics card that doesn't hog as much as its predecessors. He's enjoyed the 4K UHD NanoEdge touchscreen and OLED HDR display because he needs to see the minute details of every project he handles and designs. They also took care of the harmful blue light by around 70% so you won't be squinting too much with it. It's also very light at 1.2kg and quite thin compared to the rest in its class.

Bela on the other hand loves the ASUS ZenBook S UX393. It's got that lovely oriental look with it's Jade Black colorway and Red Copper diamond-cut edge. Weighing in at 1.35 kg, it's quite light and the vivid colors and details are always on point. She would use it for work and entertainment. It too is equipped with the 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor and Intel® Iris® Xe graphics, so you don't have to worry about power consumption.

Cyndi loves the form and factor of the ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 UX363EA. It's got 1.3 kg weight, so it's quite portable to take around anywhere. The NanoEdge touchscreen display can be extended out to present stuff, and is very slim at 13.9 mm. It doesn't sacrifice the common I/O ports, and utilizes the 360° ErgoLift hinge design that is only found on these models. It also has a NanoEdge Touchscreen, Full HD Display and supports the handy dandy ASUS Pen for different screen applications.

The ASUS ZenBook S UX393EA costs Php 99,995, while the ASUS ZenBook Flip S UX371EA costs Php 94,995. Last but not the least, the ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 UX363EA costs PHP 64,995, which all can now be acquired in ASUS concept stores and partner establishments of ASUS Philippines across the country.

Cherry Mobile TOUCH HD: Worth Every Cent

Friday, September 11, 2015

It's been a while since we've seen a worthy phone to review but this is just too precious to actually pass off. This is the Cherry Mobile TOUCH HD phone. It's one of the most affordable phones in the market that runs on Android Lollipop OS. The phone has got pretty good layout, responsive transitions that isn't really previously present in phones at this price point.

This box contains the usual manual, usb cable, plug, headset and a removable battery. It also comes with it's own screen protector so after taking it out of the box, make sure you clean it up and put it on. It'll make sure you don't have scratches on the screen. People don't read manuals these days but I'd suggest you do, so you won't be clueless putting in the battery, how to turn it on and the basic buttons.

As for aesthetics, they've made a metal frame off of the central part of the phone and used leather looking grooves made of hard plastic for the back cover. It's also easy to take on and off but securely fastens when you need to. It'll survive a fall but I won't do that today to prove it. Honestly, it doesn't look cheap, and people would have paid more for this. Since Cherry Mobile is a local brand, they could keep the costs down and know what works for the local market, something other brand might not be able to understand especially when it comes to the masses. It fits snugly too on my hand, so you can say it won't matter if you're a guy or a gal if you're handling this mobile phone.

The 5 inch HD Display reels you in to watch more videos, tons of movies and shows in superb quality and lovely colors. They also added essential applications for the usual, messaging, a proprietary keyboard system and their own Cherry play to get the latest games and utilities all in one place. Aside from that, you can always get the others on the Google Play store. The preinstalled ones just makes it easier for users not to use precious data to download large programs you need on your smartphones (especially if you don't have wifi at home). They also have the whole list arranged in categories, so no need to panic if you're just into one genre of games. We love platform ones and RPG so it was a cinch to find that already there.

The phone also has an 8MP back camera that would be sufficient for social media use, those yummy food shots and 2MP front cam for your selfies. The fact that this doesn't cost that much but has a 1.2 GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB Storage and up to 32GB expandable memory makes this one of the most powerful yet affordable phones in its class. The 2,000 mAh battery can get you tons of battery life if you need a dependable phone for call, text, gaming or Social Media. At Php 3,000, you can say it's a steal, but I'd rather call it "worth every cent".

Make sure you get the Cherry Mobile Touch HD in stores and in Lazada. Online would be better because they'll give you coupons so you can shed off a few hundred bucks on your purchase. See? You even saved a lot with it! Now that's real value for your lifestyle that Cherry Mobile can give.
