Wattpad Presents: Maid For Korean Boys

Saturday, May 30, 2015

This week's episode for Wattpad Presents is totally cute. For starters, you've got Carl Guevarra, Eula Caballero and Steven Silva as the lead cast. Aside from that, they've all made us a little giddy with their past projects because now, they're fighting over one lady. The premise is, Eula plays the role of a maid who had to serve two Korean masters. One of them knows who she is, and the other only knows her alter ego. You have to watch the show to understand the story of "Maid For Korean Boys", but you know this is going to be sweet in so many ways because the two good looking men will provide a very good challenge.

Eula says "Steven is a little proper, he's toned down and a little serious. Carl on the other had is very funny and I enjoy being with them both. I don't mind falling in love with Koreans but I prefer Pinoys. It's possible but I like how Pinoys look in general. About the title of Wattpad Queen, I am really thankful for Baker King (she jokes!). I think the casting depends on who will do the role, if they can't do it I'll probably get the role. If they can't find one, I'll probably do it too. I'm very grateful because I can practice doing so much characters in a single show. It helps a lot make us do more. I want the feeling of being challenged. I had to do more than my previous roles and they give us the variety of stories, you can't run out of it in Wattpad. I've done almost everything but if I were to do, I'd probably do a horror flick since I've read something funny in Wattpad with that theme. I'm still happy now, I'm happy with my boyfriend and he inspires me to do better. In Wattpad, we're having distinct characters and I hope we're doing the new characters, new interpretations."

Steven Silva says "She's fun to be with because this is the second time. We had a phase to get to know each other. Carl and I already know each other because we've worked in GMA. She's really professional when it comes to her craft and I really appreciate that. About learning Tagalog, actually I have tutors before and I read a lot until now. I am still learning continuously and I hope to get to sing more. The prods make me learn how to dance, I do theater plays and musicals, I did La Cage a few months back and they would tell me they like how I sing. I would be happy but a little sad they didn't get to know it. I have to do my best as one of their talents and artists. I do my best in acting or performing, I look for auditions, I went in Kitchen Musical, I hope they would take notice that I do have other things. Grease was something I auditioned for, and I got into La Cage as lead so it's really a process and I have to do things on my own and not depend on help. It's a very good training ground. I'm looking for management right now and perhaps a new direction, don't get me wrong I haven't been offered anything yet by TV5. I just don't want the next three years to be like my mistakes in the past to repeat, I've learned a lot and GMA has been very good to me, we're still talking. I hope the next few years would be even better for me."

Carl says "This is the second time I've worked with Eula and before, it was a little awkward because we were getting to know each other. Steven and I didn't hang out that much but we always see and greet each other. I've done 5 episodes and I've done the good looking dude always. I wish I could do something ugly, or maybe something gay. I do this per show and I'm happy that I can do things as a freelance artist. I wanted to court Eula but she has a boyfriend (he reveals). Before Cinderella, she was my crush seriously. When I got to work with her, I was too shy actually, but now I'm okay. I'll wait. (then we heard shrieks from the press). Wattpad stories may have some similarities but you have to attack it differently every time. I'm happy that TV5 and Wattpad because I've done a lot, I hope the audience appreciates each thing we do."

TV5's Wattpad Presents This March and April

Monday, March 23, 2015

Tons of TV5's stars came pouring out from their studios to the press conference held in Max's Restaurant in Scout Tuazon in Quezon City. I loved the past ones because they've been able to combine unsuspecting artists to team up and make their own kilig moments to the delight of all the viewers and readers of Wattpad.

First up was Heartbreaker which stars Youtube star Donnalyn Bartolome, Carl Guevarra and Joseph Loyzaga. I actually watched it last week and had really enjoyed it. The romance between Jason, Summer and Dustin had me think of ordering one for my ex's too. What if that service was around, I'd love to see people that hurt me react when I get better girlfriends in the process. Anyway, I wanted Summer and Dustin to end up together and from the looks of it, they look so good together that they probably should do a follow up with this one. Maybe a second book to make it a reality. She ordered him on a website anyway so what's not to enjoy if she ordered another one again haha!

I enjoyed interviewing Neil Perez. He's the cop who won Mr. International and I think I know why he did. He's a charmer, he's softspoken and you can feel how caring he is when he talks to you. Not that I'm crossing over but that's exactly his charm.

He's going to be paired with Isabelle De Leon, and she's a veteran in Wattpad Presents since she's done quite a number of shows in TV5. Working with her was a bit nerve racking says Neil and since this is his first show after the pageant stint, he was trying to keep his nerves in check because he didn't really take workshops prior to this show. He needed motivation and he only got it while shooting, he was really thankful though that Isabelle helped him all throughout the shoot and made him comfortable. This story is very different though because he's not playing the tough cop, but a Math professor who ended up teaching his ex girlfriend in school. It's going to be awkward, it's going to be a bit uncomfortable for Isabelle's character but will romance blossom once again? We'll have to watch out for that!

On the third week, we have Eula Caballero, Brett Jackson and GMA's Steven Silva. They're doing something pretty close to another Asianovela but of course putting in a Filipino twist. You see, Eula is going to school in this series, but it's an ALL BOY SCHOOL. See how she pretends to be one and get that guy she surely wanted and might come into trouble while doing it too.

Well, you're not the only one asking why Steven Silva is here too. No, he's not going to transfer channels. No, he's not quitting GMA. He's just here on a guesting stint and GMA Artist Center permitted him to do so. He's actually also re-negotiating contracts while this was going on and he's planning to renew with GMA. He's also doing stints here and there for  plays he auditioned and is appearing in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES by 9Works Theatrical together with Michael de Mesa and Audie Gemora. This has been staged in Germany, Korea, Mexico and Australia so you know how Steven is marking this as another feather in his hat. Anyway, he's doing good in everything he's got and he'll do more with GMA and TV5 if all his schedule permits.

I love these two especially when they did Mr. Popular meets Ms. Nobody. They've been extremely quite successful and that's probably why TV5 is gambling on them again in this new story. The call it The Magic In You which will start on the second week of April. They'll be doing something extremely historic in Philippine TV because they'll be doing this fully shot in Hong Kong Disneyland. They opened the new attractions a few weeks ago and they're looking forward to do this series clad in full gowns inside the happiest place on earth! You see, Shaira Mae is going to be playing a princess and pair up with good looking but playful Mark Neumann in this episode. Wattpad regulars would surely love this series and I can't wait how much they'll be able to show Disneyland to Filipino viewers. They even said this isn't going to be the last time that they'll do it with this partnership with TV5 and the people behind Hong Kong Disneyland.

All of these episodes will be shown on TV5 at 9PM. Make sure you don't miss the one on Sundays if you didn't catch some of it during the week as they'll show the full episode then. TV5 is gunning to be second place this year, they are claiming it. Let's see how things come and see if these romantic episodes get the public excited every week!

GMA Artist Center Does "Pintura Eskwela" (School Painting)

Saturday, June 21, 2014

Talents from GMA Artist Center took a break from their very hectic schedules to pay a visit to Catmon Elementary School in Rodriguez, Rizal. It's one of the most depressed areas in the country and a great percentage of people who live here barely have meals or live with minimum wage work. Aside from that, the situation in their schools just tells that they are in dire straights and need help. That's exactly what they did that afternoon and they dubbed it as "Pintura Eskwela" (School Painting). It's somewhat like the government initiated "Brigada Eskwela" (School Brigade) where ordinary men and women rebuild schools, repair its facilities and help these kids have clean rooms so they can start classes. 14 artists from GMA got down and dirty to paint rooms for the same cause. We saw how bright the kids faces had become when they saw the stars rolling up their sleeves and joining their parents, teachers and friends in making the school a little better than when they found it.

Zandra Summer here saying hi to the kids and other volunteers before the painting started

Mike Tan all smiles because he gets to help these kids have a clean room when classes starts

Rita De Guzman also spent the afternoon not singing, but help paint the rooms so they could have a decent place to study. She also says she'll be back to school next semester and was inspired by the kids here.

Kris Bernal of course took time out and made sure she said hi to her fans in the area. She also went in and helped paint some of the rooms later on.
