Kelvin Miranda and Ally Gonzales for "Gusto Kita"

Friday, December 02, 2022

If you haven't heard "Gusto Kita" sung by Kelvin Miranda and Ally Gonzales, I suggest you do so on Spotify and other streaming platforms. We had the opportunity to talk to them a few days ago in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. It turned out to be very romantic that some of the press were wondering... if there's something else between the two artists. Or are they just friends?

Here's our coverage on video:

Ally says "I'd like to thank Mr. Gino Padilla for the wonderful song that we were able to collaborate in. Kevin is such a good person, very much a gentleman. He's also very fun to talk to, and I'm just grateful to have been able to work with him. Originally we were just looking for the song where Kevin and I would be able to sing together. We all liked "Gusto Kita" and we tried to revise it a couple of times to fit what we wanted to do because this wasn't intended to be a duet. I'm still very young, I just turned 18. I remember the days when my Mom used to teach me how to sing. I was also able to train with Coach Keith Martin and his wife. I was put under the wing of Vehnee Saturno since I was around 13-14. I had difficulties maintaining my low notes and that's what I had to train hard for. I also have a voice coach in case I also needed to do more training because this is a continuing thing, I need to learn new songs almost every day. I don't compete with other singers, I compete with myself because I want to improve and become better. Self love is the key, because if I had that, I'll have confidence and I feel, it all starts with myself."

Kelvin adds "The song was awesome, and it has recall. When I first heard it, I knew that it was a good opportunity to do our version of it. Ally is very sweet, I'm very happy that she's beginning to achieve her dreams in such a short amount of time. Ally already knows her music, her genre, I had the chance to choose this Filipino song in a long list we had for covers. I am really grateful to have been able to work with Ally on this single. In our group, we talked about what we need to do covers for, something that fit our personality, something that we can interpret and connect with. In this generation, any music is a little hard to sustain because people are looking for new things everyday. This is done differently, I realized how I wasn't listening much of OPM songs but this made me realize there's so much out there to listen to. Hopefully I could do both acting and singing, train for it, because I know experience is the best teacher. When there are opportunities, I don't want to pass on them especially when it's on GMA. This chance to partner up with different actresses, singers, it's part of how I could develop as an artist."

The version was something off a teen romance novel. It kinda makes you feel all fuzzy inside and wish you also had someone say the line to you. Again, "Gusto Kita" is available on Spotify and other streaming platforms. Their music video is also available at the GMA Music YouTube channel so go ahead, indulge on what could be a start of something big. I would want to see if this could start some new show, or series for them. I bet their respective fans would want to see that. This is under GMA Music and Universal Records Publishing.

Jessica Villarubin Releases "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin"

Friday, September 23, 2022

Jessica Villarubin won The Clash 2 years ago. She's dedicating this new song to her future love, for the people that continue to support her so we asked a few questions during the launch of her single "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin" which is out now. She's done Queendom numbers in AOS and has been trending for quite a number of weeks.

Jessica says "I am thankful that I'm part of Queendom, it's just so nice to feel that I'm part of those who really excell in singing. It's a great honor, and people love our performances. The work we do there is like sharing things, we do songs and ask each other how to do it better. People see that and in real life, we're happy about the reviews of our portion. They love our performances and it all starts from that. I remember doing Free Your Mind with Hannah, Thea, and it's an upbeat song, I love that a lot. I also want to do theater, I also want to do other genre because I've always been doing ballads. I have a voice coach, I'm still learning. It's a different kind of training and with my seniors sing, it's different and I want to learnt the ropes and sing like them as well. My current single was composed by Vehnee Saturno. His songs have been hits -  done with different artists and it's a dream come true for any artist to do his songs. Among the songs that I listend to, I connected well with "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin". I have performed in Dubai, my concert in Cebu, the opportunities coming to me are experiences that I treasure today. I play instruments, I dance a little and want to do workshops. I want to practice more of that and I'd want that to happen soon. I feel I need to still work on my low notes, I admit I still have to learn a lot and practice so I could focus more on the craft. I want to sing a song for StartUp and I've seen that series, I've watched the Korean version of it and it would be an achievment if I could do that. Yes, there is a pressure to want to prove you're a good singer, because you have to believe in yourself, you use it to better your craft and be inspired with it."

She adds "Even if I'm busy I want to be with my parents, I love them and I always say I want to work for them so they could just rest, and my wish to become a singer has come true. "

Her single "Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin" is now out on digital streaming platforms so make sure you download and stream the single, she's one good lass.

Beverly Caimen Launches First Album Under GMA Records

Wednesday, August 12, 2015

She's not really new to the industry but this is her first album. That 20 year old lady who won as WCOPA 2013 Senior Grand Champion Vocalist of the World and Grand Champion Performer of the World admits that it's been a long time since they planned for this to happen. This she says is the perfect time for her dream, and she's worked hard since she came back from the win in that competition.

Beveryly says "Before I joined WCOPA I already was joining amateur singing contests and that's where I usually sing my winning piece "One Moment In Time". My manager Vehnee Saturno and I were auditioning in different recording companies and finally chose GMA Records to do this with us. I was really hoping to always win contests because I really find it hard to lose, and I didn't take losing very good at all. WCOPA was an international thing and it was something I never even dreamed of. This album was two years in the making. Most of the songs I have are made by Sir Vehnee Saturno. I'm still studying but I'm about to graduate this year with a Psychology major. When I auditioned for WCOPA I wasn't really thinking of going that far, I was just with two friends that auditioned that year but later on I didn't know I would win. USA, Malaysia, Brunei, Malaysia were really tough competitors.

I've been singing since I was 9, they heard me sing and thought it was nice and got to join amateur contests in Batangas and Laguna. I really it like when people say that I look like Sheryn Regis because she's a great singer. My first carrier single "Maari Ba" is now being used for Two Mothers and I was so happy and excited that it's going to heard almost everyday. I have 2 revivals "Saan ako nagkamali" and "I will be here to stay", but my favorite is Maari Ba because when I heard the demo I really felt the song. I would really love to get the chance to sing with Sarah Geronimo, and also Alden Richards. In a few years, I'd like to have a huge concert and tour the world!"

It's been a while since she's in the music scene because she's undergoing more training, being planned to do some Japanese album, and this one in Manila. If given the opportunity, she's willing to go the mile. She's also willing to work out her career in Japan. She hopes her time will come, even if there's a lot of competition in the Philippines.

Check out her voice!

See what I mean by her serious pipes? You can follow her social media channels @BeverlyCaimen in Twitter and Instagram, get to know her better.
