Miguel Tanfelix Changes Looks on His 25th Birthday

Thursday, September 21, 2023

BTS of Miguel Tanfelix's shoot

Miguel Tanfelix is officially 25 years old today. The young and prime Kapuso actor just finished Voltes V Legacy, and portraying Steve Armstrong was like a dream come true. We asked about how he felt after doing their finale episode and what this means for him. He says "I am a little sad about ending the show, but ultimately, it brings back how a family actually bonds over what they watch on TV. I am so happy about what Voltes V Legacy has achieved. It's a privilege to do a very popular show from the 80's and 90's, and how we got to San Diego Comic Con for it." Miguel also felt it was a good break for those who are all just usually watching on their phones.

They have a new movie called FIREFLY under GMA News and Public Affairs. This is directed by critically acclaimed Zig Dulay. In it, he's able to work with the likes of Cherry Pie Picache, Yayo Aguila, Alessandra De Rossi, Epi Quizon. It's about a kid's adventures and how he gets to see different people along his journey. Like a slice of life.

CHANGING HIS LOOKS

Since his birthday is coming up, they planned this photo shoot ahead of time. Miguel is actually turning 25 this year and with it, comes a lot of change especially when it comes to his looks and demeanor. No particualr theme in mind, but just envibe maturity... also show off his new hair. If you didn't notice, he was not able to cut his hair for a number of years for the continuity in the script and the show VOLTES V LEGACY he's in.

HOW HE PLANS TO CELEBRATE THIS YEAR

Miguel doesn't want the run of the mill birthday party to go to bars and celebrate it that way, and rather just spend time with family, friends and do outdoorsy stuff especially wake boarding. Something like a short break after the grueling Voltes V Legacy shoot that actually took 4 years to make and took a few months to have the public watch. Any place is fine, as long as it's outside and spend it with the most important people in his life.

Miguel told us that Isabel actually tried to do wake boarding, but it was just physically draining. Miguel of course just wants her to be there. Miguel also wants the shoot to be something he could use in social media. Though let me ask you, do you like his new hair? I do.

Miguel is careful, still reaching for his dreams. Although he went through a lot these past few years, we are seeing Miguel's steady rise happen before our very eyes. For now, he wants to just take a break and spend it with his family. He's been working hard and deserve it, to say the least.

We will see more of Miguel Tanfelix in his upcoming projects. Do expect that he's going to do more mature roles, exciting ones which he plans to do on TV, online and in film. Our boy is all grown up, and we can see how he's become a fine young actor who's very passionate about his craft. Watch out for his photos coming out today!

Happy Birthday Miguel! We love you!

MIGUEL TANFELIX Shares His San Diego Comic Convention Experience

Friday, August 04, 2023

I've had the chance to interview Miguel Tanfelix a couple of times in this site since I've covered a few of his birthdays, endorsements and shows in the past. To say the least, I've seen him grow up in person and on screen and in real life. He's had many achievements, awards and yes, he deserved all of that and more. This interview was something that I did look forward to because aside from his stint in Voltes V: Legacy (which btw I religiously watched when I was a kid) and now, something big happened recently that must be known.

You see, for geeks like me, it's a dream to be in the biggest comic convention in the world called "San Diego Comic Con". It's the largest one, even stamped by Guinness World Records. It's also where much of your DC and Marvel movies are announced before they come out of theaters. It's a big deal to just attend it, but if you're part of the show, that's a whole different level!

The Voltes V Legacy 's Steve Armstrong was asked to fix his US Visa a couple months back, but then he got word that it wouldn't be pushing through. So he kinda relaxed and worked a lot in the series and planned to go to the GMA GALA. Then a little over two weeks before the actual flight, they told him they were flying to San Diego. Imagine how he panicked because he didn't really work on his Visa. He was approved a few days before the actual flight. He also traveled with a couple of GMA Executives and his loveteam Ysabelle Ortega who plays Jamie Robinson in the same show. Miguel being in this comic con means he had to represent not just GMA or the show, but the Philippines in the biggest comic convention in the world! Here's our really long chat with him a few days ago, please enjoy!

Then he gave us the story of why he wasn't at the GMA Gala, and why he wasn't online that time... he was sleeping!

Miguel also told us about the little trip they had in Sta Monica and the proposal they saw while the sun was setting. It was romantic!

In the event, there was a panel discussion that happened and they thought it wasn't going to be well attended. The place was actually filled up to the brim and still had people outside in the line. They went to the people that were not able to go inside and thanked them for their support.

I am so happy about Miguel and the whole Voltes V: Legacy cast's achievement (and you should be too), plus the fact that he represented the country well in the biggest comic convention and pop culture event in the world. The event will be shown soon online (I think), so stay tuned for updates about that. If you're a fan of Miguel and Ysabel, I hope you continue to support them especially now that this happened. It's a win not just for them as actors, but for what they've done for the Philippines.

I hope this isn't the last time they'll be going to SDCC, and I think they're working out something so they'll be able to bring the whole Voltes V Legacy cast to the US soon.  That would be an awesome opportunity no?

Congratulations Miguel!

Abby Clutario Releases "Chichi Wo Motomete" Cover Under Alt G Music

Thursday, July 06, 2023

Abby Clutario has just released her newest single, her rendition of Voltes V ending theme "Chichi Wo Motomete". Hers is a very mellow sounding one since she's using a Chapman stick which she has been using in her other singles.

Abby says "I know there are tons of people still asking about it, hopefully I could teach a few people play it in the country. Back then when I talked to the founder, they wanted to put the actual instrument in a physical store, hopefully in the future since it is an investment. I don't teach music on the side and if they like it, they can invest the same way I did. Yes, I did have to push and have the song approved and they saw the video I made a couple months back. We had to tweak it a bit since it was originally sung by a male artist. The version in the episode is done by Matt, hopefully people can see this one especially on radio. I remember manifesting this a couple months back and I am very overwhelmed about the support I get from the AltG recording company, it was hard to find the ownership and license but it all went well especially now that Voltes V Legacy is being shown in the Philippines. I'm super happy when I released this as content a few years back, but the single is a different feeling hearing it air played, my friends really gave me good feedback. It was hard to do it in the original language and glad to see the translations during the time I was recording it. It's about a man longing to find his father and making this ballad was such a perfect fit. I know there are people who want a Tagalog version of it but it's very difficult as the words and phonetics are totally different because the meaning won't be completely told. I had to re-record it and you will see the difference when it comes out."

About the Chapman stick, she says "I've always been into piano but when I held it, it sounded like a Cielo, and I loved how that sounds. This originated in the US, and I got it from a US forum and had to learn it, planned to make it a solo performance when I was still in a band. Now I can make originals and cover songs, my tie ups always include using this relatively not so common instrument. So far, I've never encountered people who don't like it, there are some but it has never affected me, I don't really pay attention especially on social media because I'm a musician and people only ask about music in general."

This cover song by Abby Clutario will be released tomorrow July 7, 2023 on streaming platforms. Go check out Spotify and others to hear what changes she's made on this iconic song. This is again under AltG Records.
