ToFarm 2017 Proud To Release 6 Quality Films

Friday, July 07, 2017

After planting a seed last year, it looks like ToFarm 2017 is already bearing fruit. Several entries shown first on this festival have already won several accolades and nods of critics locally and around the world. Dr. Milagros O. How has spearheaded one of the most successful film showcases and dedicated it to shown the plight of farmers, agriculture and their families, made it even more powerful to tell their stories in 6 more quality movies to be released in the festival this year.

It includes Victor Acedillo Jr.’s "Kamunggai" (Malunggay), Topel Lee’s "Baklad", Byron Bryant’s "Sinandomeng", Joseph Abello’s "What Home Feels Like", Jason Paul Laxamana’s "Instalado" and Tara Illenberger’s "High Tide". We'll be featuring some of the artists and their characters later on this week so be sure to stay tuned.

For the opening salvo, they will also be featuring the work of Gerry De Leon called "Banaue: Stairway to the Sky!" starring no less than Superstar Ms. Nora Aunor, Christopher De Leon, Johnny Delgado and Ronaldo Valdez. The veteran actors will also grace the event on the 11th of this month at Novotel in Quezon City. They will also witness the re-introduction of the films together with the stars and directors of the 6 film entries this year.

Now this is exciting news! I can wait to see it on theaters, good thing there's still space for quality films during this run (without anyone resigning from their board LOL). You mat visit https://www.tofarm.org/join-tofarm/8 for more details about the film and information about the festival!

It's pretty apt for their theme this year which calls for "Planting Seeds of Change".

It's Vic Sotto for Chooks To Go!

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

We got surprised today by someone who gives the best to his family, the new brand ambassador for Chooks to Go Mr. Vic Sotto. He's been loved all these years by Moms around the world and this time they're thinking of making you the reason for their Moms on the Go campaign.

Aside from bossing Vic, Super mom Delamar Arias was also there and said "It's super convenient. The best bonding between Cooper and my husband is talking while in the dinner table or in bed. We're disconnected and even without visuals, it's something so special and I've recorded it so he knows what he said when he was a kid. He even said that he could live with us when he gets married and when asked where she's going to live, he says she could sleep beside the dog, kids really the darnest things!"

They also told us about BAVI Agriventures. They are turning 20 this year and just so you know, they've got tons of poultry and livestock operations around the country and are the owners of Bounty Fresh, Chooks to Go, Reyal, to name a few. Their goal is to be the number one Commodity Chicken in the the Southeast Asian Region. It stemmed from their fears of opening the market a couple of years ago into a very quality driven company producing chicken. With superior recipes and the passionate people they have, they turned around and have become successful.

Vic Sotto was adorable. He swooned women with no effort. They chose him for his charm and they said his unbelievable attraction to women and Moms especially. You'll be seeing him hereon in upcoming commercials in different media. And of course, the best chicken even without sauce too!

Philippines Breaks Guinness World Record of Largest Serving of Lechon

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

It was a hot and humid day but we were still happy during the event for Calata Corporation. For those who don't know, they're one of the largest agricultural conglomerates in the country. They are the corporation behind the distribution of brands like Bayer, Syngenta, Bmeg, Jardine, Monsanto, Dupont, Sinochem, Leads Agri, Planters Products, Swire, Yara. They are also behind agricultural chemical corporations such as AGRI Crop Protection, Heisenberg veterinary medicines, Thomson and Hine and Ivansmith agrochemicals. They also own Golden Bean Feeds which supply most of their products in AGRI stores nationwide. They're celebrating their 16th Anniversary and what better way to do it but by preparing a huge feast of roast pork commonly known as Lechon in this country. The premise is to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Serving of Roast Pork set by Mexico a couple of years back. By the way, they supply huge corporations like Puregold, Lydia's Lechon, and others with produce, technology, distribution so you can just imagine how big they are in the industry. Instead of having just their company's posh party, they wanted to share it with the community. with those who couldn't really afford the well loved Filipino dish usually served in huge parties. Everything goes!

Here's what happened during the Guinness World Record Attempt

Calata Corporation World's Biggest Serving of... by kumagcow

That's not all. Calata Corporation is partnering with other NGO's, Foundations to give scholarship grants to deserving students. They're eventually planning to also do this specifically for agricultural courses so they could further improve the lives of Filipinos in the agricultural sector. Their dream is to make agriculture cool and dubbed it AgriCOOLture. Since they're already making waves and earning a ton in this industry, they hope to inspire more people to work and change the manner they perceive the business because true enough, they're showing that there is money and opportunity in agriculture. Our aging farmers won't be there forever and there should be another generation of people who would want to spend their life working, tilling the fields with the help of new technology, advanced ways so this agricultural country would eventually NOT import goods anymore and just locally produce everything here.

Previous record set was about 3,015 Kgs, we however set 4,046 Kgs. An honor for the Philippines and Calata Corporation. Congratulations to Calata Corporation on your 16th year!
