TOMS: Artists Holds Silent Auction

Friday, May 08, 2015

You know about TOMS when I wrote about them on this article. They're still doing good deeds these days by collaborating with young and rising Filipino talents. They commissioned Bambina Jacinto, Carlo Ongchangco, David Bonifacio, Gil Angelo Ibe, Nicole Wisenhunt, Lilianna Manahan and Nix Alanon to create one of a kind pieces so they can have it in a silent auction for the benefit of their chosen charities. They used their own chosen mediums plus pairs of TOMS canvass shoes so they could whip up these gorgeous looking pairs of shoes for this exhibit that will run until May 13, 2015.

Bambina Jacinto is an art curator, painter and visual artist. She's also a member of Slate Manila. She did 2 pairs, one is Blue China which was inspired by fine china. The other is called Full Bloom which is inspired by spring. She's going to give the proceeds of these shoes to CRIBS Foundation.

This one's Carlo Ongchangco. He's a painter and a visual artist. He made two pairs as well. One is called Being Silly which is inspired by a normal day of a child. The other one is called Happy Life, inspired by smiles and a happy life. He'll be donating the proceeds to Real Life Foundation which caters to street children and how to get them education.

This guy is David Bonifacio. He's a social entrepreneur, artist and poet. He was inspired of escapes while on a trip. He likes the quiet life, away from everything. He's donating the proceeds of this auction to Real Life Foundation too.

This graphic artist and illustrator is Gil Angelo Ibe. He's a top digital artist and recognized by idesign.co.uk. He was inspired by "insignificant ideas" in making this pair. He's donating the proceeds of this to PAWS, a non governmental organization that cares for the welfare of animals in the Philippines.

Nicole Wisenhunt is a very successful jewelry and accessory designer. She's in top international fashion magazines and she made these with inspiration from spring and disco. She also wants to donate the proceeds of this to PAWS.

She's Lilianna Manahan. A young artist from Studio Magee, Hive and an apprentice of Kenneth Cobunpue. She was inspired by table top creatures and hammered brass in making these pairs. She's donating the proceeds to Fairplay For All. It's a foundation that helps children from Payatas, making opportunities for the kids no matter what economic condition they may be.

He's Nix Alanon. He's a very successful interior designer. He was inspired by Marble and Wood to make these pieces. He's donating the proceeds of these shoes to Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation which caters to less fortunate children in Manila.

If you're interested to see the exhibit, please do not hesitate to visit them at the 3rd Floor of SM Aura Premier. They will only be there until the 13th of May and will be ending the silent auction until then. You are going to get one of a kind pieces that are made by real deal artists. You'll also be helping their chosen charities in the process so don't hesitate to bid if you're thinking about it. TOMS and these artists would really love your help!

Auctioneer Group Harringtons' Lifestyle Auction

Sunday, March 30, 2014

I've been in tons of expo's and art events that I've probably seen them all. With the turnout of thousands I'm sure there's always someone and somebody that hoards pieces because they usually run out of the ones I like in seconds. Deals don't come often but I think there's big news about Harringtons that would definitely make enthusiasts rush to Rockwell Tent in Rockwell Drive in Makati. It's going to happen this April 6, that's a Sunday from 10AM to 7PM in the evening.

A preview will also happen on April 5, Saturday from 10AM to 7PM so if you want to get a glimpse of what they have in store, you might want to go there early. I heard they are coming out with paintings by top Filipino artists, sculptures, art installations, furniture, luxury cars and a lot more more. For sure there will be a wide assortment of junkets and trinkets to find on this weekend!

Here are some really good ones that have been confirmed to be at stake in the auction

This is Jewelry designed by the one and only Anita Del Rosario. It's beautiful!

This is an artwork by famed Filipino artist Arturo Luz. He's pretty well known around the world and if you get this piece, you'll be part of the few who will get to own one. Will you let this slip your collection?

Shiny, lustrous and gorgeous chandeliers by designer Gabby Barredo. Everything is going to be priced reasonable because this is their first salvo. So what are you waiting for? If you are interested to bid, you may register on both dates right on the venue... or contact HMR at 5486900 local 6962 for more details. Oh wait, here's one more!

A medical doctor made this, Toribio Herrera. He was featured by a Harvard Phd holder Rodolfo Paras-Perez which made his artwork known internationally. Will you let this piece escape your hands? Then do the right thing and check it out during the viewing, it'll be the best advice you'll ever get from me as an art enthusiast! I think the last time I checked I have taste.  :)

Check this video out!

See you there!

There is joy in giving. With the recent plight of our countrymen in the Visayas region, both whom have been victims of the huge earthquake in Bohol; and typhoon Yolanda who's ravaged several provinces in that area, Ayala Malls wanted to give more to rebuild their homes and community.

Up for grabs are items from the best fashion and beauty brands and much more. This will be held on December 19, 2013 - thats this Thursday 5PM at the 4th Floor Cinema Lobby in TriNoma, EDSA corner North Avenue, Quezon City.

Rowena Tomeldan of Ayala Malls, Thelma San Juan of PDI and Citcit Sioson of Look Magazine.

This event is brought to you by AYALA Malls, in cooperation with Look Magazine, Inquirer Lifestyle and AYALA Foundation.

I'll be there too, so I hope yo see you on Thursday! :)

Update: I'm here now in the auction and am really excited about the items I did bid on.. Hope to win some of them! :)

I would have bid on those Sebago shoes but it's gonna be a tight fit at size 10.

This Apple TV is also a steal at 2,495, hope no one bids over my price.

This shirt and pants is a little procey for me but since it is for charity, who cares right?

A quartet of Philippine Madrigal Singers were there too to sing lovely Christmas Songs during the launch!

Hurry shoppers! You gotta run to trinoma because this will only last until December 22! Just proceed to the Cinema Lobby right beside the carousel.
