Magnum Gold Now in the Philippines!

Friday, February 14, 2014

These ladies were keeping something in their back. I could see it slightly peeking on the middle but they didn't let me check it out. For whatever reason, they asked me to go back when it's a little around 3PM because something big is happening. Something GOLD is appearing for the first time in Philippine shores; and no less than SM Supermarket is giving us a peek at what seems to be something luxurious and decadent... I was tempted to push these girls away but I'm a gentleman.. I had to find out later on.

I went in SM Supermarket to buy a few things for my personal consumption. I forgot to buy stuff for myself when I went to the grocery the day before so I went ahead and splurged on chips, plus Vanilla Coke and Cherry Coke. Oh I know what you are going to say! Don't judge! :P

The kind ladies on the counter helped me sort out stuff and I paid for it.

Then a person from their Customer Service desk approached me and said STOP! She handed me a golden ticket and said CONGRATULATIONS because I'm one of the few who would be able to get to taste tentenenen!!!

MAGNUM GOLD!

Imagine rich thick Vanilla Ice Cream with a salted caramel swirl then coated two layers of mouthwatering, sweet, sinful and addicting Belgian chocolate. I already surrendered whilst listening to the ingredients being mentioned LOL!

Aside from getting that Ice Cream bar, I was also told that if I could open the vault using the secret code, I could win a brand new spanking iPod Shuffle or an iPad Mini (in the day's raffle)! Since it starts at 3PM, I did the next best thing to kill time.

I asked my blogger friends to come along and eat MAGNUM GOLD with me.

There's definitely more where that came from and we all enjoyed this new MAGNUM GOLD flavor since it retails at Php 55.00 only! Now, there's no reason not to enjoy it this summer when the heat comes back right? Aside from that, we went ahead and lined up to get our chance opening the vault to win the iPod Shuffle!

A commotion ensued when it was already 3PM and I even saw customer Erdy Tumapon win the MAGNUM Gold Ice Cream MP3 Player! Funny thing is... when it was my turn.... I entered some numbers on the vault and pressed the enter button.... and you know what happened?:D

I am now a proud owner of this iPod Shuffle! =)  I couldn't believe I guessed right. The number was XXXXXX hahah of course I won't tell you! :) I haven't won anything for a long time and opening this great prize was just the icing on the ice cream. I too struck GOLD in MAGNUM GOLD! This wouldn't be possible if I didn't go to SM Supermarket in Megamall! =) Thanks guys!

Swensen's: The Ultimate Ricecream Sundae Experience!

Monday, November 12, 2012

It's been a while since I visited the Eastwood Branch of popular ice cream brand Swensen's. I feel sorry for myself not being able to do so because I literally am a stones throw away from this branch. It's a good thing they invited us over for dessert as they launched their new products in this side of the world! I had goosebumps when I saw what they had on the menu.

Their executives were all smiles as they welcome us to their second branch in the Philippines. It's so spacious and best of all, service is quite impeccable. They took good care of us and showed us the menu. Surprised about the things they concocted which probably has this Southeast Asian flare. Being a brand from San Francisco, they are continually innovating and creating more regional flavors to the delight of their customers. Mango and Rice? This certainly calls for something good!

They immediately made us several servings of the Ultimate Mango Ricecream Sensations! Imagine Mango Ice Cream with Pandan flavored Sticky Rice topped with Mango Cubes and whipped cream. Just describing that made my mouth water. Just check this out!

Oh did I forget to mention the oozing Caramel and slivers of Almonds on it too? LOL just kidding, sorry for making you guys crave too much on this article LOL!

This was Catch Gaviola's (of CatchGaviola.com) plate and my eyes just lit up when I saw what I was going to have. He says the rice was soft and reminiscent of those desserts in Thailand and our very own Mangga't Suman. Though this one had something so good on it, it had Swensen's signature Ice Cream. It was so creamy but not too sweet. They even added whole cream on top. It was perfect for that hot afternoon. They call this Sticky Rice with Mango, I had some for myself of course!

Two heaping scoops of awesome Mango Ice cream and a couple of spoonfuls of Mango and Pandan Sticky Rice, topped with whipped cream, almonds, caramel syrup and a dab of green nata de coco. It's like heaven on a bowl and boy I was easily closing my eyes and trying so hard to remember my name after the first scoop. In the serving sizes I find this so perfect for one person but for ladies, you can probably have this shared with your man. I'm sure they wouldn't mind. This is the Mango Breeze Boat!

If you are in a group or maybe have more appetite that the usual, then your better get this Mango Hurricane! Tons of Ice cream good for around 3-5 people, hot Waffles, Pandan sticky rice, mango cubes, served with coconut mil and mochi balls. It was a humongous serving of Mango good enough for the picky ones because for the price, this is all worth it! On a hot day in Manila I'm sure you can easily finish this!

This is one big goblet. Imagine melted marshmallows, more Mangoes, Pandan Sticky Rice, Waffle cones and oozing rich caramel syrup and mango syrup. When this comes chugging on your table you'll hear some oohhs and ahhsss because you'll surely get your fix of everything good in a Mango and Pandan Sticky Rice combination. Perfect for those who are alone and got a big appetite! This is the one they call Mango Sensation!

If you are just dropping by, don't worry. Swensen's has got you covered. With all the nice things you saw earlier, you can have that same experience in a crunchy Waffle Cone via Mango On The Go. That's how important you are. You just have to make sure that the next time you drop by Mall of Asia or Eastwood City, don't miss the chance to go to Swensen's because you know you want to have the Ultimate Ricecream Experience!

More Than A Cup of Joe!

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

I'm sitting down and enjoying a cup of coffee now. I'm a fan of coffee obviously because I even have that favorite flavor popping up your screens every time you visit my site. I indulge in the sweetness of caramel and the strong espresso flavor each time I order this in the most popular coffee chain in the world. With the economic situation, they were not spared because we saw them close down almost all their branches in Australia. I wonder if the same also happened here. That does not dampen my interest with this addicting drink that I still manage to fill my self tub fulls every now and then.

How cold can you get? I enjoy this drink ice cold with just the normal instant coffee powder that almost every household has. A spoonful of sugar would be enough to make it irresistible to me. How I comfort my self with that and a laptop computer nearby is bliss. This is much like what I am doing now, so go figure!

I like it hot too. Although I have huge horror stories about it because when I tried buying a large cup in a convenience store nearby our office, I poured steaming hot vanilla flavored coffee before I went out. Lining up to pay for it, I kind of felt it was already seeping through the cup. Something terribly wrong was happening, I saw it already leaking by the time I reached the counter. True enough, as I placed the hot item on the desk it was making a huge mess and people were looking at me like I did it on purpose. It was so humiliating, even my friends were laughing at me that time. I politely asked for a coffee sleeve so I could at least get another one and not hurt my self in the process. I paid for it already and guess what, they did not have one. Imagine how many people would be purchasing that same drink and experiencing the same ordeal I went through. A simple coffee cup sleeve that would keep you safe handling hot drinks and they did not have that on their store! I wish there was some way we could get them on our own and have them personalized as well. I mean, we probably would be using them often since that is like staple in the office. Maybe if we got that endorsed in the administration department they could purchase some for us. That would be great if simple coffee sleeves be given free to everybody at graveyard shift. Right?! I'll try to tell them now.
