Daphne Home Scents x Dimensione x Bench Launch

It might have been one event that I missed but it won't be something that I won't cover. We got these gorgeous photos from Bench showing the highlights of the recent Daphne Home Scents launch last June 8, 2012 at the 2nd floor of Dimensione High Street Bonifacio Global City. It was a very posh tea party complete with white Tiffany chairs, pastel colored flowers and treats so perfect for that afternoon.

It was also the time to welcome Ms. Daphne Osena Paez to the Bench Family. We've been seeing her in shows recently that has inkling to design, home and architecture. Unquestionably, she has been one of the style icons synonymous to things that are chic, of glamor and refinement. She's also got her furniture line carried now by Dimensione which in my opinion is so long overdue.Her Daphne Chair now is being regarded as a must have for every girl when they decorate rooms or plainly jazzing up an existing space. The whimsical play on color inspired by her kids evidently influenced designing these pieces. 

I saw some familiar faces in the event. Spotted some celebrities, writers, bloggers, executives from Suyen Corporation and Bench.

Ms. Daphne Osena-Paez and Ms. Amina Aranaz-Alunan. Ms. Alunan is the person behind the famed Aranaz line of bags. She also graduated with honors from Istituto Marangoni in Milan.

Ms. Raquel Denise “Kelly” Galvez Misa and Ms. Patty Laurel. We heard Ms. Laurel is soon going to be Mrs. Patrick Filart! Congratulations!

Ms. Daphne with Inquirer lifestyle reporter Alex Vergara. I remember the article he did about Architects a few years ago.

Proud to see someone I know was also in the event. Chic Fashion blogger Angeline Rodriguez (http://wonderwomanrises.blogspot.com/) who consequently also won the Daphne Chair! Now we all envy her! Sweet!

 

Hosting the event was Raymond Guttierrez who I might say looks dapper in his outfit and pulled back hair. They had so much fun doing the tet a tet during the launch of Daphne Home Scents.

It was so nice to see familiar faces, friends and people from Bench supporting Ms. Daphne Osena - Paez' on her Home Scents launch. The Perfect Lounging Afternoon

I had friends over for a quick meal and made a lot of effort preparing food. I haven't seen them for a long time and this would really be a good day to reconnect. It was a good thing it happened on my day off so the schedule fits. They even brought wine and booze since that's what we often do in the hay days but I didn't quite enjoy that part since I stopped drinking a few months back. I asked them to wait in the Living Room as I get the food fixed and all along I thought they were comfortable. When I asked them to sit down on the table one of them whispered to me that I should change sofas. I was dumbfounded because I thought it was nice... apparently the blue corduroy that made everything hot said otherwise. I think I should take a look at my options in Max Furniture instead so I could get a new one. That is one thing I'll try and accomplish before the month ends. I don't have an expensive date for Valentines anyway!

The long stories between us were to die for! I love reminiscing and reconnecting and it was nice to see them in the flesh again. Some have kids and some stayed single like me. I want to see their kids though; call me envious but it falls on that category these days. I'm so happy about what happened to them and how they have become. I'm sure if I get leather ones the ambiance at home would surely be perfect. I won't have to sleep in a hot sofa on rest days too. I hope the next time they come over I'd be able to fix some design problems at home and get to have a few pieces purchased. Then I wouldn't have to worry about things like these anymore and just enjoy the time with them. That would be the perfect thing to do in a lazy afternoon. =)

Take a Seat

It was a fine evening; I had to do reports as usual. Since I am going to sit in front of the computer for almost 9 straight hours for work, the need to be comfortable in my chair was a necessity. This however did not turn out right because the one I had on my work area was used by a co worker and replaced it with a dilapidated one. I was not a happy boy.

I did try my best to get my posture straight and had to resort using pillows for my back and head so I can at least survive the 8 remaining hours of work. I was not lucky, my back still did hurt and my neck became strained for doing that. I guess I had to call another department and have them replace it, but since I was in a graveyard shift the administration office was closed and only open at regular office hours. I was already sarcastic when I asked the utility men and women; I was getting more stressed by the minute. I need better Office Chairs.

A Good Samaritan got up and gave me his chair, from then on I was smooth sailing. I got him breakfast too because of that. The necessity of proper seating is vital for people; I got my point across and got the chair replaced the day after. I'm happy they got me the best one too!
