YEELIGHT 2 in 1 Wireless Charging Nightlight Review

Thursday, October 03, 2019

When I got my iPhoneX about a year ago, I was looking for wireless chargers - but ended up getting super frustrated about how long it took for me to get my phone to full power, I ended with a phone without batteries for only half a day (about 4 hours standby). iPhones are notorious power hungry monsters and if you don't have a Powerbank with you through coverages, you're pretty much useless in the afternoon when you get out of your house.

I understood it was still a developing technology and it wasn't perfect back then. But if I'm looking for something that would help me work the whole day, this setup just wouldn't work. A few days ago, this Yeelight Wireless Charging Night Light got us wondering, would it be sufficient to make me happy with its wireless charging feature? We started opening the box of course.

The night light was pretty simple, you charge it with the cable that comes with it, read the manual too. The light actually can be taken off the flat contraption. Switch it on and off to use either warm or white light. This is awesome especially when you want to play games in your phone but don't want to wake anybody up in your room. It takes hours to also run out of charging and you can snap it to metal surfaces because it's magnetic.  On a hallway, or another room, this would be perfect so you don't stumble around when it's too dark outside.

The Wireless Charging is obviously much faster than my old Qi Wireless charger and it takes a few minutes to get my phone juiced up so I can grab and go when I wake up in the morning. One awesome thing though is that it's very safe because when I placed keys on top one drunken morning, it didn't activate the wireless charging capabilities and it detected that on its own. Some other chargers continue to trickle and that would be dangerous if you get electrocuted or if it starts a fire.

Overall, this piece of technology is worth every cent. This is available in Digital Walker and OMG Feel Good Gadgets Stores nationwide! Go get them for your wireless charging phones before stocks run out!

Belkin Unleashes New Wireless Charging Pads at Power Mac Center

Friday, July 06, 2018

Spent the afternoon at the Power Mac Center branch in Powerplant Mall in Rockwell.

Belkin has been in the industry since 1983. Producing products and accessories that makes live better, they added more today at Power Mac Center. PMC's Marketing Director Joey Alvarez says "We made sure we provide better third party accessories such as Belkin in our stores. Today we are launching new technologies, Belkin Wireless Charging Pads, Belkin TrueClearPro 2, to make our lives easier."

Victor Reyes of Belkin adds "Belkin is a family, from Belkin International. We have 4 brands Belkin, WeMo, Linksys and Phyn. WeMo is for home automation, home security, a pioneer under the wemo brand. Linksys does soho networking devices. Phyn is for intelligent water solutions which can notify you for leaks and technologies about it, Belkin does good accessories. We have partnered with Apple so we could do 7.5W wireless charging, but now we have a new one which can do 10W. We won design awards consistently, we are launching 2 of them today."

Jenny from Belkin HK says "The iPhone X and iPhone 8 wireless charging has been talked about 5x when it was launchex. It's convenient, clean, sleek and would save you from seeing clutter for cables. You don't have to have 2 cables too because you can charge both phones on iOS or Android in one go. Plugging in on usb ports is also a security risk, this makes it totally safe and is beneficial when you do wireless charging. These new products from Belkin are Qi Certified. It's safe from overheating, less risk of device damage, and now is good as it is Lithium Ion batteries in most phones. The BOOST UP Wireless Charging Pads support 5, 7, 9 and 10W. The 9/10W is being released July/August (today), later this year we will have car chargers (car port/window mount) that support the same. Every device will have an extended 3 year warranty."

"The TrueClear Pro system on the other hand is where protection meets precision. When you purchase one in partner stores, we install them for free. 90 percent of people want screen protector right after they buy a phone. It's slow, it's hard and expensive. This is why we designed the TrueClear Pro System so it can be installed in a few minutes. Store associates have been using this worldwide, it is now available in Power Mac Center in the Philippines."

Now I'm sure you've had your share of horror stories with third party accessories, but Belkin is licensed, has been doing this for years. If their awards and recognitions for design doesn't convince you to purchase premium products from Belkin and their subsidiaries, I don't know what will.

I know they know how to make these things, they're pretty good at it.

Elephone Now Available Through Lazada

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

I almost forgot about this, but the smartphone brand Elephone  based in Hong Kong and mainland china just launched a couple of days ago in Shangrila Fort. They also forged a partnership with Lazada which in turn will be exclusively selling the product online in the Philippines together with existing ones in Europe and Southeast Asia. I haven't really experienced using one but during the launch, they let us handle the Elephone S1, Elephone P9000 and Elephone P8000. They also had the W2 which is a modern smartwatch accessory that's quite elegant looking and none of those modernly designed ones in the market.

This is the P8000 which boasts of Android OS, 4165 mAh battery that gives it longer hours of use, 4G LTE connection capable and has it's own fingerprint scanner. This retails for only Php 7,799.

This is the W2 Smartwatch I was telling you about. It looks like a classic watch no? But no, it's a full blown smartwatch that can take health and pedometer data while you go about your normal work. We didn't have the price yet but I'm sure it'll be available in Lazada very soon!

This is the Elephone S1 that only costs Php 3,999. It has 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, Android 6.0, 13MP Main camera, plus a fingerprint scanner. It's one of the most affordable phones that has that feature, so if you're looking for one this might be it.

This is the Elephone P9000 which has it's own wireless charger, 5.5 inch screen, 1080P display, 1.3 GHz MT6580 Quadcore processor, Hellp P10 Octacore and a fingerprint scanner. This is their high end one which costs Php 11,499. It's available now in Lazada!
This would be welcome news to the shoppers of Lazada and the arrival of Elephone will make the saturated Android phone market a little challenging. Their pricepoint is quite different, they have every right to challenge the ones selling quite good with the similar specs giving Filipinos more selections. The battery life on the the Elephone P8000 impressed me most and perhaps that will entail having other brands make better battery life a priority too. It's value for money but I might hold back on that Elephone P9000 as I find it a bit too expensive. They have different markets anyway, hopefully they'll sell quite well online. If you were to buy something for Php 4000 though, this might be a good idea. Search well in Lazada and you may get a deal today.
