Mystery Basket from Greenwich Holds Cheesy Surprise!

Wednesday, June 01, 2016

This arrived on our doorstep a couple of weeks ago. I was wondering who was it from and why the pretty basket. It looks like I'm about to swing around Jellystone Park and roam around the bushes so I could eat something good. I think the last part of that statement is true. I love lasagna since I was a kid. As a matter of fact, I was strongly influenced by Garfield and how he literally just chow down boxes full of it in one go. I liked what I saw inside!

There were about 6 boxes full of lasagna by our lovely friends from Greenwich. Did you know that I always order this inside their store in Heart Center when I am in that area? Mom orders the thin crust Overload Hawaiian while my Dad and I love this most. Why? Because it's piping hot, great with the garlic sticks and it's so darn cheesy. Let's face it, when there's not much cheese on a dish like lasagna, it's not worth it. Greenwich does it like a pro and I love their version. It's got the meaty layer, the pasta done right and the Bechamel Sauce + cheese just oozes out on all the sides like it's Christmas!

If that was good, they just made it even better by making a version with Cheese on Cheese on Cheese. This is #OMCheese, the next level version Lasagna Supreme. It's the better, lovelier, cheesier version of your favorite lasagna from Greenwich. Now you people who are still trying to copy the original Greenwich Lasagna must keep up, I bet it's easier for you to actually buy the actual one inside the store rather than battling it out in the kitchen. I know, I felt that too when I attempted haha!

So go easy on your kitchen wars and order a couple of boxes of these lovely layers of Lasagna Supreme. Make the trip to the nearest Greenwich branch or make that call to 55555 and tell them you want one of those lovely Lasagna Supreme boxes like I do. Visit http://www.greenwichdelivery.com/ and check out the other things on their menu aside from the Lasagna, I assure you it's gonna be worth it! It's meaty, creamy and extra cheesy!

Mad For Pizza

Thursday, June 19, 2014

When the sign says so, it probably means what it is. This is the day that we went to MAD FOR PIZZA at IL TERRAZO in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. It's a stones throw away from ABSCBN and the Boy Scout monument too. This is rarely new and they've got the star of the show emphasized on the day of my visit. The Pizza choices were enormous! Aside from that, you can probably have it made and customized as you want it. Toppings all you want! You are the boss!

The Drinks

I only saw three or four drinks on out table. I ordered the Bottomless Iced Tea and got to also taste the Salted Caramel Milkshake. I must tell you to order the frozen version of the Iced Tea since it's a tad better than this normal one. The serving is ginormous though to for the price, it's worth it. The Salted Caramel Milkshake was good too, but make sure you go to this place with an empty stomach because they have it all BIG in this joint. It's a sweet treat!

Salads and Starters

Freshly made Hawaiian Salad that's both sweet and crunchy would be best for those watching their weight. The Nachos were as fresh as they make it on the spot when you order it. You can even feel it hot after they pour the cheese, beef bits and salsa. The Disco Fries was an even better alternative because it had all the good characteristics of the nachos but the filling ability of fries. I had second servings of this so you know how good that must have felt LOL. The Fish and Chips was also good but I must say you have to eat it while its hot. It tends to be soggy if you let it out that long, but really who wouldn't finish the plate right after they put it on your table.

TOKYO TOKYO Fire and Ice

Saturday, March 08, 2014

We were in BGC a few days ago to attend popular Japanese restaurant chain TokyoTokyo's Fire and Ice event. We were kind of kept in the dark of what it was all about but I had a pretty good hunch it was about new products in their store. I got my answer right after a few rounds of my favorite TokyoTokyo Red Iced Tea. Mmmm...

FIRE - an element that pronounces a man's courage and fervor. It's the perfect element to also signify hot melted cheese, oozing out on layers of soft meat covered in crispy bread crumbs and fried to perfection. This is their new CHEESE TONKATSU BENTO.

Imagine your teeth sinking into finely shredded cabbage with roasted sesame dressing, tons of melted cheese with pork cutlet covered in crispy bread crumb batter and piping hot rice. Tell me, how can you go wrong with that?!

How cheesy is it?! Let's ask Paul!

You might not be able to hold it up with your chopsticks that long because the melted cheese just drips put of the meat.

Then it was time for desserts!

ICE - made from the element of life, water. It signifies all things living and celebrates the sweetness of it.  shows better in the new TokyoTokyo dessert offerings!

This is their new SNOW ICE. It's roots come from the mother of all Asian desserts called Kakigori in Japan. It is said to be the forefather of the Philippines own HALO HALO or the Ice Kacang of Malaysia. They usually serve this at festivals to celebrate and induce luck and fortune. It's also available un three variants namely HaloHalo, Choco Sensation and the Mango Peach Medley. The halohalo is a modern take on the local dessert complete with ube, leche flan, nata de coco and crunchy corn flakes. Choco Sensation felt more of like brownie ala mode as it is composed of brownie chuncks, marshmallows, chocolate sauce and a cherry on top. My personal favorite the Mango Peach Medley resonates that fruity tropical flavors you'll love on a hot Sunday afternoon. All of these desserts lie on a bed of super finely shaved Vanilla ice that gives it just the right amount of sweetness. It's also perfect for sharing!

Tokyo Tokyo also had Kaya F.C. and Daniel Matsunaga there that afternoon. Even the Japanese guys in the team were overjoyed that they tasted a lot of what they had back at home. If they approve it, Pinoys should definitely rush over to TokyoTokyo branches nationwide and get the same Fire and Ice love we had that afternoon.

I'll definitely go back for the Cheese Tonkatsu Bento and the Snow Ice desserts soon!

Ciao!
