Insurance Crisis in the Philippines Addressed on 11th Unionbank E-TalkTales

Friday, September 03, 2021

Woke up super early for this but had my cup of coffee and forgot to login promptly for the 11th edition of the E-Talk Tales hosted by Unionbank. Guest speakers were UBX President and CEO John Januszczak, Coherent CEO John Brisco and Chubb Deputy Regional President for Asia Pacific Glen Browne.

They discussed the Philippines low insurance coverage and how much Filipinos have not seen the benefits of having one. John Januszczak says "It's not easy for most people to have a basic understanding of how it can be valuable for them. Providers should device a way to make it easier for them to discover it. You have to make them relate, have it personalized and not make it complicated. These days, some products are being shown the same way as it was 50 years ago. It should be easy to understand for customers, agents and advisors. Mobile has been a great enabler in the Philippines and we have to leverage that more so for internet connection, I believe there are creative ways to do it. We're bringing products to make the transaction faster, to make it easier for them to buy insurance. There is indeed a lot of upside in getting insurance."

John Brisco, CEO of Coherent says "What we do is make it easy for them to create products by providing data, help them interact wtih insurance and UBX without hitches, make it accessible for everyone. We want to help integrate them into the UBX ecosystem and act as the facilitator between them and UBX. We want it to be as seamless as possible."

Glen Brown adds "Insurance is seen as something extremely complicated, when we first partnered with UBX, what we could do here was different from other countries. We'd learned across Southeast Asia that we need to bring the best solutions to more that 50 Million signups in the region. There really has been a change in the last 2-3 years. Chubb continues to provide world-class products that fits in that experience and Coherent is bringing the technology that makes that happen. It's quite unique."

With the way things are, there are lots of room to grown in the insurance business in the country. You just have to have the right partner to make it work.

Mark Herras and Mike Tan Celebrates Birthday with Women in Crisis

Monday, December 14, 2015

Two good looking guys, two very accomplished actors. We were with Mark Herras and Mike Tan a few days ago for a small charity event as they celebrated their birthday with women in crisis at the Kaisahang Buhay Foundation in Quezon City. It's a shelter for women who can't provide themselves a roof over their heads, or support during their pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy in particular is very rampant still and they've got several cases of mothers to be as young as 12. They definitely need help, and with these gorgeous guys giving them entertainment even for a few hours, hopefully they'll forget, or be optimistic that whatever their problems are... they'll all get through it.

Mark is still in the series called Dangwa with Janine Gutierrez and Aljur Abrenica. He's portraying the role of Baste who is in love with Janine's character Rosa but couldn't find the courage to tell her. You should definitely watch their show every Saturday. It's aired worldwide in GMA Pinoy TV and will feature small stories in between their story. It's different every week and is something you should look forward to!

We had a chance to also talk to Mike Tan. He was so moved by the stories he heard from the women who were in the center. I could feel he really did get affected as he shared his own story. Growing up in a single parent's house, he was lucky to have been able to get better in life. He has been blessed because he's a good man, he also hoped for these women to stay strong despite of the things they're going through right now. Here's also our interview with Mike on video:

Mike Tan just finished his Aquathlon and done it in great fashion. He won a bronze if I'm not mistaken and for a first timer, isn't that amazing? Make sure you wait for more projects with this looking guy. He's probably going to be in primetime or afternoon prime as always. He's good in every show he's been in and I'm not surprised why he's always been blessed.

Happy birthday Mark and Mike! It was my birthday too last December 6, being born in the same month as you guys make me proud especially since you're doing more good things. I want to emulate what you guys are doing :)

I hate the fact that they sent the bodies of the dead HK nationals (via the Manila Hostage Crisis) and they mislabeled it. Someone has got to get fired. I hate talking about the hostage situation. I hate seeing HK politicians talking S*** about our country when this is supposed to be an isolated case. They are blowing it out of proportion so they would look good for their people. I hate saying sorry for something that one criminal did. So I'm stopping. They said it was the fault of the funeral homes. Potatoe potahtoe. 2 survivors said they will talk about the incident now. I wonder who will go there and get their sides.

Pacquiao is going to be exempted from not attending hearings. He can go and still get paid. The hostage crisis in the US took 2 hours, and got the culprit dead. They are obviously comparing that to the one that happened here. Let them get the bus here and do that again.

Payment for teachers are going to be paid for their election duties. Hello? We already have a President and they just thought about doing that now? The SONA has already been done for crying out loud!

I saw some bloggers from other sites, it looks like they are having fun. I'm not. Hehehe.

There are going to be 5 Filipino nationals that are going to be hanged. 4 of them Pinays and 1 Pinoy... all about drug trafficking. If they did it, go ahead. But if its just to get revenge, think twice, I think we have some druglords stocked in our jails too. Not that I'm suggesting!

There are 2 kids who got in a fight because of playing spiders. They chopped each other in Negros Occidental! How gory! Yuck! Oh, I remember, I'm from that province too!

Rant off.

I love how bloggers show their love on their posts. I get inspired. I won't complain why I'm single but hell get me one of my own please! LOL I deserve one right?!

I want to commend my Dad for getting Senior Citizens discount. Because utilities will be included next month. That's great since he uses air conditioning a lot! Ha-ha!

I hope someday, someway, love will find my way.... well not now, I'm having fun every weekend. I go out so much that I sooo enjoy it! =)
