How NOT to Lose Your Way!

Sunday, June 19, 2011

I'm one of the few who in this time and day still gets lost in the city. I make appointments here and there and I always end up going to places where clients prefer since I don't want to make a hassle with just the meeting place. Lunch is usually on me so it is pretty difficult if I end up late and it would be my fault if they go hungry. This happened quite often; but I'm not making excuses. I'm not that familiar with places in the south and it takes time if I always ask for directions from strangers. Have I mentioned dangerous too?! I wish I had a GPS Tracking device so I wouldn't have to worry about this anymore!

I probably would have that put into my van for security purposes. With the high crime rates and car napping incidents in my city I wouldn't be surprised if one day I'll be a victim. I wish it was easy to say otherwise but the sad truth is that it gets worse every year. If I get one it'll be easier to track it and be a deterrent to these things. I know how important it is to have one than to get my car stolen instead; which unfortunately would cost even MORE! I hope my friends or relatives get me one for my birthday. Oh well!

Do you guys have one of those GPS gadgets? I need one obviously!

Managing Information Structures

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

This is going to be a little technical so bare with me. I know I'm used to talking about this stuff in the office on a regular basis but let me impart to you a few things about network services. It has been obvious that I know how routers, switches and wireless networking devices work. I've been an expert on it for quite a number of years now. Experience tells me that together with premier grade devices there should be a corresponding working database that would efficiently bring any system up to its feet. The electronic mail that we use in everyday office work for example needs listings for the whole thing to work. Managing thousands of mail recipients and senders on a secure environment is tantamount to corporate systems. Without it and its security everything would be out in the open including company secrets. That would be the end of an illustrious career and a whole operation. I know I have a lot to learn and it is a good thing that Active Directory Tutorial can be accessed with a simple click of a button. Learning the concept of LDAP directory services would get me well informed than some of my other peers who are in the industry. We probably all schooled on same universities but experience would definitely get someone like me an edge. That; and a couple of masters class too in a well known university perhaps would seal it up when I get the urge to study again soon.

Anybody want to learn about it with me?! Just let me know!

Time to Keep My Readership Up!

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

I know it has been painstakingly taking me too long to achieve MAVEN status since I started my site. But believe me I have not been on hiatus these past few months because I was trying to learn more about web directories like DMOZ or YAHOO. These are major players in the industry and if you do not get hooked up with them, you would probably end up in the least liked category of this hobby. You would not want to be counted in that!

This morning, I have a few realizations... and it has taken me a lot of thinking why I should sign myself up with these large companies in the free web directory. First of all, your readership will be wider which means that if each person tries to look up what you are talking about in your site; they would easily find you in the search engine that they tried to look at. GOOGLE has been the leader in search engines around the world and a single press of a button could get you thousands of results. You would rank higher and easily find you if you make yourself visible and listed on the system. Without them you would not really exist in the World Wide Web.

I write because I love what I do and I get to share what I know about anything under the sun to people across the globe. The Internet is powerful and getting valued readers that can use your information to their advantage is tantamount to the success of the site you have. I will make KUMAGCOW more popular this year and I plan to do that with the help of the SEO friendly web directory I signed up with. I want to make the world a better place than when I found it so if my turn comes to die I would have a happy feeling that I have not wasted my time but have done my best.
