REMITLY Expands to More Countries

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

It’s 98 days before Christmas and of course Filipinos around the world are thinking of their families in the Philippines. With the way things are, they of course would want you to make this another year to remember and get that festive spirit and dinner taken cared of. I remember the time my Ninang sent me 20 dollars each Christmas and how happy I was to get my toys and stuff, but sometimes it gets stolen in transit for one or more reasons.

These days we’re more than happy to use remittance services that are affordable, easy to understand and super safe. Honestly there’s no better opportunity to send money home than now where the exchange rate is very high. I’ve met some of the executives of REMITLY (an online money transfer company) as they start partnering with a local tech brand as they expand their services in the country.

Matt Oppenheimer “I started Remitly to disrupt the 500 Billion remittance industry. With mobile growth we now have something scalable, we believe that we put the customer first to transform hundreds and millions of lives, serve and deliver on their promises. We’re just getting started.

In 2011 they launched in the Philippines with a service US to the Philippines only. They didn’t launch in other countries until they mastered the service. They acquired Talio and got a tracking system in place to send text messages, emails so you know where your money is anytime of the day. They also got scholarship grants for 500 students, got their feedback, improved the system even further. Now they have other 11 European countries, Canada, Australia and even cruise ships. They also donated money for disaster relief and saved 900 Million dollars in transfer fees because it was easier for them to pass on the company earnings to customers easing their ability to send money home.

They are doing Geographic expansion, Product Expansion, even established a Manila Office with 400 employees (and is still growing). For those who don’t know Kuya Kim Atienza is their endorser, in his words “Being the face of Remitly is like giving back, I am here in the Philippines and spend enough time with my family but tons of Filipinos are abroad working, living alone, it’s not easy. This is how countless Filipinos do it. Initially I didn’t know what it is all about, I realised what good this is doing with Filipinos, thank you Remitly.” He even said the weather during the event! Hahaha!

Transactions according to them is 100% safe and their promise is to get you that money online in 5 seconds or less. They offer a very competitive rate for senders, no add on fees. There are tons of Filipinos around the world and this will be a good venue to send money from abroad. You should give this a try because their first transaction is completely FREE. Would you believe that?

Send money to me too if you’re not busy! LOL

Philippine Firm ALOUATTA, INC. Hailed As Partner of the Guam Visitors Bureau

Tuesday, November 12, 2013

I've never been to Guam but I'd really love to. It's one place where Ferdinand Magellan landed before he came into the Philippines. We are bounded by history and the island has got a 26.3% Filipino population only next to its natives the Chamorro people. The country is blessed to say the least and they have opened their doorways for those who simply want a glimpse of how it is to experience GUAM.

The Guam Visitors Bureau has tapped one of the Philippines trusted Marketing-PR companies Alouatta Inc. as their official partner in celebrating and spreading the news for what seems to be the next premier destination in the orient. The large population of Filipinos in their country not only means we are part of the workforce but now a significant tourist source more than ever. Alouatta Inc. will be showing more of what Guam has to offer. Now you can make new friends, taste the sweet life, spend quality time and fall in love in one place they call GUAM.

I can't wait to see this country soon!

Philippine President GMA; Proud of The Strong Economy despite US Recession

Friday, October 10, 2008

Hey! don't compare the height! People say she's strong and powerful yeh know!

Despite the global economic crisis that affected the US, Europe and Asia... the Phillippine economy continues to be strong says President Arroyo. From a tv show I watched this afternoon, she stressed while speaking on a conference in Makati that the government she says has readied itself for these kind of situations. I doubt that it is the real score but I consider this strength is caused by the millions and billions of dollars that our Overseas Filipino Workers is pouring in as expected because we are obviously nearing the Yuletide season.

Nothing beats Christmas celebrations in the Philippines! We spend a lot this season!

I've heard that even the discovered oil in the Galoc property is going to earn 60-40 in favor of the government (in royalties) and it will be cheaper to transport oil from there instead of ports elsewhere. Palawan crude will be still sold at prices indicated by the world market. I just hope the government does not waste this opportunity to have the resources' earnings go to the rightful set of people. They in turn would be able to use the money for the right projects and make our country stable before the 200million barrels of oil run out. I hope that its not the last of it too because they are still exploring of course!

We (the Philippines) by the way have a 7 percent GNP rate last 2007 and it is expected to be higher this year unlike other countries that are in a slowdown. She also urges the business community to report anomalies to the anti-red tape task force. I just hope this just works so lets just be optimistic and cross our fingers and stop complaining too much! lolz! ^_^
