Dreaming Big: Tadeo Paras

Friday, May 13, 2022

Meet Tadeo Paras, a 25 year old fashion photographer born and raised in the Philippines. He graduated from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde and went to the US in 2019 to finish his masters in business at San Diego, California.

His fascination with movies came at an early age and he has always wondered how films were made. He says "I love how stories are being depicted on the silver screen and how it's being told." He had opportunities to act in top rating drama series in ABSCBN like "Wildflower" (during 2018) and "Nang Ngumiti ang Langit" (in 2019).  With this experience, his passion grew even bigger over the years.

He was also inspired by the work of Gordon von Steiner, one of the most sought after photographers in the world. His work consists of the who's who of international brands, supermodels, celebrities and a throng of unbelievable fashion spreads in Vogue Italia, and other countries. He's also done remarkable work in video editorials, working with gargantuan photographers in the field which is why he's obsessed with him and his craft.

Putting in the work, Paras is currently studying film making at Santa Monica College in the US. He plans to pursue further studies in other universities and augment skills in fashion photography. He dreams to become one soon and says "I've seen how the west does film projects and the difference in storytelling, the diversity in choosing actors. I'd like that to happen in the Philippines, to not just have the face for it, but the needed depth in our films. I believe this puts me at an advantage since I have theater and TV acting experience, this will surely help in my studies."

Paras continues to build experience in different projects making music videos, events, media, content creation and production. He also shot LA Fashion Week and a few more shows as restrictions ease stateside. His plans of making worthy films and stories that depict culture, quality, and the Filipino way of life is just the start. Can't wait to see him reach his dreams, with the flag on his sleeve every time.

Julie Anne San Jose x Get Laud!

Sunday, June 23, 2013

I've seen her perform the first time I visited the set of defunct Party Pilipinas years ago; she was one of the few performers in that show that impressed me and I must day she has definitely made a name for herself. She's Julie Ann Jose, and this beautiful lass who just arrived from a US trip got us excited during the Get Laud! Event at the 3rd floor of SM City North Edsa's main mall.

Clad in a simple black top, hot pink skirt, moderately chunky accessories from the same store, she shared her excitement about big news when she arrived in the Philippines. She said,  just hearing the remarks and appreciation of her album by production, album and network executives, a testament such as a QUADRUPLE PLATINUM AWARD surely was much of a great welcome home package she never expected. She surely owes it a lot to her fans who continue to support by buying her album legally and also request her songs on the radio. She says the amount of airplay really helped in achieving her dreams of becoming the lone person to achieve this feat from GMA Records.

She is a little busy studying now and she is attending regular classes at Angelicum Colleges. She's also glad that they don't treat her differently in school that's why she's so thankful to everyone as this really keeps her grounded. She admits she even takes her homework to the set so she could work on her assignments in between takes. She needs a year to graduate in her Communications course so she is really trying to get serious this time. Her schedule previously had her take time off from school because she couldn't handle it and work at the same time. She's taken only a few units and try again this time so she could graduate at least on the dean's list!

She's excited to also show what they've been up to these couple of days as she'll try to win with the group again in Sunday All Stars! It's all hard work and but says it's all worth it! She shared that she even gave suggestions for the songs they are performing so it's really going to be a big surprise come Sunday!

She says she's so thankful about the brands that also help her. Get Laud has given her their unending support, even immortalizing her on their 25 stores around the country and by making her their gorgeous official endorser too!

I've seen quite number of pieces that looked quite expensive but I think their store doesn't even carry anything that is over a thousand bucks. Practicallity + Quality and Affordability in one roof! Imagine that!

If Julie Ann Jose likes these stuff, why shouldn't you right!?

Thank you so much to GMA Artist Center and Get Laud! for inviting us to this event! It was wonderful! And it was nice to get to know Julie Ann Jose on a more personal level. Till next time! :)

Wear Your Music: Jessica Sanchez for Bench!

Friday, September 28, 2012

It must have been a long journey for this lady and we're witness to what she has accomplished just this past year from a search called American Idol. Although she missed winning it by a hair, we've never been so proud about her being half Filipina and half Mexican and full blooded American. More so the thought of her coming over for a tour in the country (which her Mom was born and raised in) she never thought would be able to step foot on.Jessica Sanchez, our own American Idol is now a global Benchsetter. She immediately got to shoot for the brand right after her stint in American Idol and it could never be better!

Hosting the function was fab Ginger Conejero. She was candid and so perky, it was so nice to have her talk to Jessica on stage.

Then she came...

I think she was a little nervous. But later on when she got to talk to Ginger she kinda got a little loose and talked away like they've been friends for the longest time!

She was tall, cute, very pleasing to the eyes. Plus she had killer heels with extra spikes on the back and she was so nice she immediately greeted everyone.

She was really happy to be part of the BENCH Family. She gave the biggest smiles to everyone who was there to meet her.

She was so overwhelmed about the turnout they had during the AI Concert tour. She loved the reception of everyone including the throng of people who went there. She never thought the crowd was going to be that big... saying she even thinks it was bigger than the shows they had in the US.

Her style isn't that complicated. She even tells that simple shirts or jeans would be fine by her. She also goes out with sweats regularly and only glams up when its needed. She knows what she wants and they have stylists but ultimately she knows what and how to wear what she feels comfy.

Now that she's part of the BENCH Family, she's excited to let everyone know about how everybody can "Wear Your Music!". She was even wearing one of the shirts on her line and she's so happy about how comfortable and how good it looks on her. Something that she think she could wear anytime of the day even when she's got gigs in the US. She's so happy to have gotten connected to a brand from the Philippines and she's so happy to represent this global brand. She felt so good and overwhelmed about how much importance was given to her by Suyen Corporation, Bench, the main man Ben Chan himself and the whole Bench Family. She feels right at home.

At the end of the event when Mr. Ben Chan went up the stage, Jessica Sanchez whispered to him that she feels so thankful and honored to be part of BENCH. I was so glad they got her because Jessica Sanchez is truly the pride of the Philippines... another feather to our hat!

Jessica's grandma was there to also witness this momentous event in Jessica's life. It was so nice to see her family support her. Oh and speaking of family...

Jessica's Mom was there too. She was so happy Jessica got the chance to actually see the country of her Mom. To see her Filipino roots was priceless. She even defended her against Charice during the interview... but I believe they've got no rift at all. Jessica's Mom lauded Charice even! =)

Congratulations to Bench for having Jessica Sanchez as part of their growing family! I'm sure there will be more soon! Make sure you guys go and hoard everything in Bench stores nationwide and find out how you can also WEAR YOUR MUSIC!

Like them on Facebook!
