Looks like the classic products from Universal Robina Corporation are getting the nod of Filipino consumers especially in fast moving consumer goods available in the market. This includes Great Taste coffee, placing 9th in FMCG according to Kantar's Brand Footprint study which was done in 2022. They have placed 4th most chosen one in 2021, a huge improvement also happened from being in 15th in FMCG ranking.
Kantar employs consumer reach points (CRP) which measurement depends on shoppers buying habits and what brand it is. In it Great Taste performed well with 424 Million CRP this year compared to 283 Million last year. 75.8 percent is big, and being chosen for over 20 times per annum is a remarkable number.
If you've been out in groceries like me, you've probably seen their new products too as part of their expansion. The GT Supreme line includes the Toffee Hazelnut and the Black Forest Latte (which I love!).
Aside from that, cult loved snack Piattos and C2 also got include in the top 20 food brands in the Philippines. The chip got 7th place with a whopping 183 Million CRP's while the tea drink got 16th place from last year's 19th place. This also got sold with 74 Million CRP's, which is quite a significant amount (but we're not surprised because it's that good!). This feat has been acknowledged by Pearl Benjamin who's a Senior Account Manager for Kantar Worldpanel. URC continues to also grow in the ASEAN region, and is also releasing products for consumers.
Congratulations URC! You're awesome!

No Sugar Added, Low Calorie TRUE TEA Iced Tea
Monday, September 25, 2017
I am so fond of sweets and didn't know until I had a check up that I already have heightened sugar levels according to my doctor. Living with diabetic parents, I was pretty sure I'd be getting it too so I tried to follow my doctor's advice to cut down on almost everything with carbs, starch and sugar.
I also got a bit addicted drinking powdered fruit juice drinks not just because they have cute and fancy commercials, but was just so good because they taste like real fruit and it indicated they also had it in them. I was a bit blinded about how these drinks actually contain a LOT of sugar, I even had withdrawal symptoms because on a normal day I barely drink water thinking all I did was healthy. So after all that and my Doctor's advise, I stopped cold turkey and did not drink a single drop of powdered juice, iced tea, or soft drink (well sometimes if I get discouraged Coke Zero it is). I took my coffee black often, didn't take Equal, then I heard about Stevia. This plant (photo above taken in a farm near Manila) sounded like a gift from nature, it is a naturally occurring, zero calorie sweetener. They've had it now mixed in food products, including cakes, pastries, even drinks. So imagine my surprise when a friend suggested True Tea Iced Tea.
So I thought it was going to be one of those drinks that tasted like chalk (oh yes I've tried them all), but really, TRUE TEA tasted like the actual iced tea we love. I then introduced it to my Mom, my Dad, then my sister helped herself, so that one box that I had was gone in one day. If that doesn't look like they liked it, I don't know what will. I have a huge mug at home which I fill with ice and water, even if it's a little more diluted I could still taste the tea on it because they use real black tea leaves which was a relief for me. Now I can have my usual fix of iced tea without the guilt because this has no added sugar and is low calorie. Perfect for my diet now, oh yes I am doing that.
True Tea Iced Tea is available online through Lazada, leading supermarkets and groceries nationwide. Hope this makes your iced tea dreams come true even if you're cutting down on sugar. I'm still enjoying it, it's got Vitamin C too. So cheers!
Lipton Gets Real Iced Tea in a Bottle!
Saturday, July 30, 2016
I've had this brand in our pantry for ages as much of the people at home are heavy tea drinkers. We also get a little festive at home, even more when there are guests of friends and family so we do get Liptom Iced Tea served in so many ways. It makes conversation fun, sweetens up things and keeps us hydrated. It gives that positive vibe no matter what time of the day!
The good news is, Lipton is evolving. They want their products to fit a new generation of tea drinkers as they up the antè with taste and the benefits you get from having real tea. The drink also has low calorie content so you don't have to worry doing other things all throughout the day because it's light and easy. The Green Tea variant was a favorite at home, with that light lemon flavor, you get the lovely refreshing feeling in each gulp because you know it goes good in any situation. The Red Tea on the other hand has that lovely deeper tea flavor but with a hint of orange, making it sweet but a little tangy. The classic Lemon Iced Tea on the other hand still satisfies me. Sitting on the top floor balcony, letting the sun shine while you watch the sun set on the horizon. Ending the day with a sweet note, dreamy, but imagine all the possibilities!
Lipton pushes you for positive change. Take it easy, take it one day at a time. Make yourself enjoy the moment and see how you, your friends, and family could make every day a #LiptonPositiviTEA day! I'll go ahead and share these bottles to the most precious people at home, so go buy one in your favorite convenience stores, groceries, supermarket and be a good man or woman by bringing positivity to friends and family everyday!
