Sunday, November 11, 2018

It’s Christmas and we all know we have to put up our Christmas decorations. Have you thought about how much electricity people use for lights alone? Well we met with Firefly Electric Company executives this afternoon to see how we can save a lot if we get LED’s on our trees and just about any electric socket imaginable in your home. Do you know that even if an LED lightbulb cost 10-15 pesos more than the usual bulb, it actually lasts twice as much or even more? So you definitely get more than what you pay for.

Ms. Amby Molina the Marketing Manager of Firefly Electric and Lighting Corporation says “We want to celebrate Christmas happy, peaceful and safe. Our LED Bright Christmas Lights that are safe, affordable and this year so Firefly Electric being in the market for 15 years, our core products would be perfect for your homes. Our LED Christmas lights now have green versions and transparent, and also dynamic lights now. Some customers want some in curtain lights or string lights. Almost all we have are around 4 meters. It is safe and use thick wires, this also does not heat up even if you use 15 connections. We are also certified by the DTI, so government testers go to our factories plus Meralco gave us an Orange tag, as we are the first branded Christmas lights manufacturer in the country. We guide our customers about what our products are, we have longer lines too and this is why Firefly Electric Corporation is the leading brand in the Philippines. We also have outdoor and indoor type, we also have tested it to last 3 years for 6 hour use everyday so this won’t be broken under normal circumstances. We also have a one month warranty. All our products are made with quality but affordable!”

Ms. Alice Mallari the Brand Supervisor adds “Over a decade ago we started these installations including this new 71 ft Christmas Tree. All the 40,000 bulbs and Meteor lights we used here are energy efficient, we also followed the Winter Wonderland theme of SM Mall of Asia. It took us 4 months to design and build it, this will stand on the SM By The Bay until Three Kings celebrations next year. We have all made this with our efforts, from ground up.”

You really get what you pay for. In their case, it may be even more!

GLOBALTRONICS Forges Partnership with JUMP Digital

Sunday, December 03, 2017

I'm sure your mind must have drifted so many times on Edsa, C5 and looked up those huge billboards to see the Globaltronics brand somewhere and perhaps know how much they've been a huge part of the advertising and digital tech industry over the years. They've been doing headway in Electronic LED displays, ad placements, partnered with local and international companies to get a grip of a huge market share in the Philippines and elsewhere in the world. We were invited over dinner for a thanksgiving session for the press and their corporate partners a few weeks ago so we got to know a couple of updates with the company itself- and their partner agencies that's undergoing changes and preparing a whole lot of events this coming 2018.

One of their partners JUMP Digital has already been growing their portfolio and has come in the most opportune time as they are gearing for more this coming year. Jed Marcaida the Jump Digital Founder and Chariman remarked "So for the 2018 Digital Arts Awards, we want to be more inclusive so we are introducing more categories. Globaltronics is bringing forth the Filipino talent and showcase it to the ASEAN region. We will go beyond our borders and will be ASEAN ready. The most wanted speakers, bigger prizes and global possibilities will all be there on NDAA 2018. We are excited and we hope you will be there."

Jasper Evangelista CEO of Globaltronics says "Thank you for staying with us for the night, I'm really confident that we will have that drive to surpass the next projects, the technologies, our partners, this is just the start. Expect more to come, we will never park our laurels and there will be changes so we could be a player in the global scene. We would need your support to get us there. We are also unveiling the new Globaltronics logo to show we are tech savvy, we are leaders. It's still a globe, the three stripes represent our 3 core values. It's on 25 degrees because it's like a giant aircraft, we plan to progress as a bigger and global Globaltronics and we hope to sit down with you so we could provide more solutions for you."

The affair was also witnessed by Globaltronics Chairman and CEO William Guido. So aside from the new look and logo, they also awarded top contributors and most loyal clients for 2017. Now that they've also partnered with JUMP Digital, they'll have PR and Digital requirements now as part of their folios and it would be easier for them to actually provide 360 degree services here and around the region which they regard as the next step.

Among Globaltronics clientele who received accolades that evening include Doublr Dragon Properties, PSE, Honda, Pra, Starcom Mediavest Group, Megaworld Corporation, SM Mart Inc., BMPI, Adidas, PLDT, Havas Media Ortega, Posterscope Philippines, DLSU College of St. Benilde and A. Magsaysay Inc. While JUMP Digital services their clients Alaska, Nutriasia, Tanduay, ACS, Hyundai, Metro Pacific Corporation, Vista Land, Green Cross Alcohol, Asia Brewery, Pascual Laboratories, Healthy Options and a lot more.

The future looks bright for Globaltronics and JUMP Digital. I can't wait for their huge plans to materialize in the coming years, to hopefully make their offerings a one stop shop and perhaps make the ease of doing business in the Philippines and the rest of the ASEAN regions they are present in easy.

Congratulations! To know more about them, please visit their official websites  http://www.globaltronics.net/ and http://jumpdigital.ph/.

Choosing The Right LED's with Philips

Thursday, March 19, 2015

Saving energy has become of national interest because we all need to do it. In the past few months, the Philippine government is even planning to utilize privately owned corporations' own generators so they wouldn't get anything from the government reserves and work off their own capability to generate electricity, even go the mile of paying for it with the Malampaya gas fund. The government is pro renewable energy but I think there are just not enough private corporations that are building power plants that would be able to save us in the next few years. The crisis is imminent and we all should do our share.

LED Technology has gone leaps and bounds, even surpassing the energy consumption rates of low watt light bulbs and fluorescent lamps. Ms. Fabia Tettero Bueno the country manager for Philips Philippines says, "A power outage can be catastrophic for the economy, we lose the comfort in our homes and the stability of livelihood and business. It will impact all sectors and consequently take the unified efforts of these to prevent it from happening in the future."

Philips is now strongly pushing Filipinos to save energy now by using the right LED's. Together with Philips, Deustche Investitutions und Entwicklungsgesselschaft (DEG) Bank, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), they are holding this #MayMagagawaKa campaign to seek awareness to build urgency in conserving energy in the country. As WWF President and CEO Joel Palma says, "We are consuming way beyond our limits, saving energy is one way of helping to manage the lack of energy. Most of what we use is from fossil fuels and the only way to resolve this is by also lessening the greenhouse gases, it's carbon footprint so it would have lesser impact on climate change". A lot could be done by us too. If we all do our part by lowering temperatures in air conditioning, lesser waste and using the good kind of LED's that not only consume less power, negligible heat and doing something in your own homes.

Greg Yan, the communications officer of WWF also added that we're all using centuries old technology and we are all over drawing our planet. They are pushing for this too because if we switch all existing bulbs into the right LED's we would have saved 70% of energy and would've given lamps to remote areas in the country. They partnered with Philips to retain the quality of life that would improve how we live... They're also spearheading Earth Hour this weekend and assures is, we definitely can do something about it.

The situation is serious and we just lost a lot of power just this last week with the maintenance of Malampaya. We don't have enough energy reserves because the capacity of the plant is 700MW. We need to fill that up by using less electricity and we all can help.

Changing your bulb would be a start. Do you see the need to save energy? Are you using LED's? (It has to be Philips!) We're only half way but converting to non traditional bulbs would save us up to 80% and people are seeing it now! It's also affordable because they've got some as low as Php 150! There are even smart lights now which you can control remotely, or have it in different colors too!

There are even LED tube lamps that you can use and mount in different surfaces. There are a ton of advantages and you just need to know how to get the right LED.

To make sure, you need to make sure of the actual brightness, actual life + guarantee and safety. Philips has even tested their devices with third party corps which attests to the quality of these lamps and bulbs. Switching to LED can really get you to save up to 20% of your electricity. People should start converting to LED now, not on a later date because the lack of power is happening now! Go and change them now and post it on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with the hashtags #MayMagagawaKa and #UsingTheRightLED, who knows, you might just win some prizes with that too!

Oh by the way, they've got special edition Team Manila shirts that would be also given away on their Facebook page and other social network accounts. They are also giving this away on leading stores if you purchase LED's from Philips.

Now tell me, how would your life be affected if blackouts would be a regular thing in Manila? Every minute, every second counts. Philips is also pushing for standardization of all electronic devices/the industry. They're starting with yellow stickers now, but they hope this would be done with anything including lighting solutions used inside our homes.
