The City of Marikina Goes Cashless with PayMaya

Thursday, April 08, 2021

Looks like it will be easier to pay taxes and government dues as the city of Marikina just started to roll out contactless payment in the city as they have started ties with PayMaya. This means residents of the city and those transacting with their offices can now pay for things right in the comforts of their home or anywhere as long as they are connected to the internet and use the PayMaya app. The Marikina online portal accepts credit, debit or prepaid cards and the PayMaya Wallet which can be loaded by cashing on from bank accounts or any PayMaya partners. PayMaya collaborated with the Development Bank of the Philippines and this has been welcomed by the city Mayor himself.

Marikina City Mayor Marcelino Teodoro says "With this initiative done by PayMaya and DBP, we empower our constituents with a safer way to pay for taxes. They can now also pay other fees online while in the comforts of their home. They don't have to physically go to the city hall during the pandemic. This will allow us to continue delivering critical services to our community and the public."

PayMaya Founder and CEO Orlando Vea says "Enabling the public to have digital payments is the way to go and we thank the city of Marikina for leading the way for cashless solutions in local governments. We are ready to have more people access digital financial services during this time."

There are over 60 national agencies and local government units that have had cashless solutions powered by PayMaya including budget disbursements so they get money for projects safer and faster. Aside from that, other agencies like the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Bureau of Customs (BoC), and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and cities like Manila, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, Pasig, Caloocan, and Valenzuela have already adapted PayMaya payment channels. It's easy and cashless so it's also safe for everyone.

You can also pay for groceries, medicine and tons of other things using the app. You also get the chance to earn cash back in each transaction as they regularly have promos that would get you perks when you pay through QR, transfer funds, pay bills using the app. Now don't say I didn't tell you about it, go download the PayMaya app today!

Bacsi Bros Expands Operations at Ayala Malls Marikina

Saturday, July 27, 2019

They're growing, definitely growing.

It's a  great day for comfort food goodness and abs for days as we celebrate the opening of Bacsi Bros in Ayala Malls in Marikina City. This is different from Ayala Malls Feliz and is a two floor complex at the Liwasang Kalayaan area. It caters to residents and people from surrounding towns so they don't have to go to far cities just to go to an Ayala Mall.

The Bacsi Bros branch here is at the Food Choices area up at the second floor together with other pretty well known brands. But of course, we have to go to Bacsi Bros because who doesn't dream of hot heaping white rice, fluffy egg and strips of mouthwatering bacon.

It is as freshly cooked as you order so just look it up on the menu and owner endorser Tony Labrusca will offer you everything for 75 pesos. Extra egg and Cheddar Cheese will only cost you 15 bucks! Sounds good? Of course!

This BacsiBro has these soft fried smoky bacon, tons of liquidy melted cheese, a soft sunny side up egg on top of white rice. Ohhhh I could hear Homer Simpson's growling.

The Cornsibro though was perfect for breakfast. The corned beef was soft and a bit on the salty side, the runny egg envelopes everything including the rice, you could almost taste it in the photos.

The Hotsibro on the other hand is perfect for kids, kids who can tell. If you think about it, it's like an all day breakfast setup. Less the hassle of cooking.

Tocino lovers will rejoice over this Tocibros, remember that they cook this teppan style so you get that bits of crunchy edges on the meat and the egg they cook. There is also some margarine/butter in it so you get that flavor profile too. Ohh this was so good!

For those who want it beefy, try the Tapsibros. Strips of Tapa style beef fried over the griddle on top of sunny side up egg, and white rice. It ain't for the faint of heart indeed and is real comfort food. You should enjoy this with friends and family.

They also are launching a new item on their menu which are all wraps. I tried the Bacsi Wrap earlier and it was almost full to the brim, reminiscent of breakfast burritos in the US. It's quite huge and filling, pretty much an equivalent of the rice meals, so go get the Cornsi Wraps, Hotsi Wrap, or Tapsi Wrap if you love Bacsi Bros. Oh and before I forget, they also have Chiksi Bro and Porksi Bro for 99 if you have an even larger appetite.

Oh and today, he's actually here in Ayala Malls Marikina Branch, of course it went crazy!

Dion Ignacio's Birthday at the Camillus Medhaven for the Elderly

Thursday, March 31, 2016

We're in far Marikina today for the celebration of our dear Kapuso hunk Dion Ignacio. He's celebrating his 29th birthday but he's never look older. The Starstruck alumni and Marimar antagonist is looking forward to spend time with the seniors and patients from the Camillus Medhaven for the Elderly. He spent a lot of time with them first and even sang a few songs for them while giving small things for the elderly too. From food to toiletries, to small grocery packs and adult diapers, he's sought help of his GMA Artist Center family to facilitate the arrangements for this day to happen.

When Dion arrived, he immediately said hi to the elders and made "mano" to all of them. He also obliged to get photos taken with the staff and patients of the center. I learned most of their relatives are abroad and couldn't get someone to take care of them that's why they are in the haven for the elderly. A sad fact, but I find it was actually good for them since they can talk with others in their situation plus the people in the center took care of their needs quite good. Dion remembers his Grandpa and Grandma and felt he's just visiting them here too. He lives a couple of blocks away from this place in Marikina and this isn't the first time that he's celebrated with the elderly, he did this too in a different place last year.

The center's leaders also told us that this is the first time that a celebrity has been able to visit them, and wishes this isn't the last. I'm sure GMA Artist Center would do this again.

Dion also sang a couple of songs for them. The staff swooned on the young hunky gentleman from Starstruck.

Happy happy birthday Dion!

One of the caregivers who also facilitated the event thanked Dion, GMA and Artist Center about them holding his birthday here.

What I don't understand is that he's still not satisfied with his built, he promises to go back to the grind so you'll get to see him in more roles real soon.

He also told us his experience in the first Lipsync Battle together with Tom Rodriguez where he had to help his friend. They were battling against equally gorgeous hunk Dennis Trillo. He also mentioned his experience studying culinary arts plus what he's doing with Philia Band. We also talked about the starstruck winners this year. Listen and watch our interview with the birthday boy  :)
