CinemaOne Originals Festival 2017 at Ayala Malls

Tuesday, November 14, 2017

I was surprised to see tons of people watch one of the Cinema One Originals Festival 2017 entry "Si Chedeng at Si Apple" starring Ms. Elizabeth Oropesa and Ms. Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz. It's one of several films that will be shown until November 21. So if you haven't seen any of the entries, now would be a good time to watch these films.

Trinoma was grand, I could imagine watching these too in Glorietta or in any Ayala Malls. Trinoma has dedicated Cinema 2 while Glorietta has Cinema 4 which will show these CinemaOne Originals Festival 2017 entries. So if you're raring to see other films like "The Third Member", "Cain at Abel", "L'Amant Double", "Nay", "Nervous Translation", "Paki", "Bundok Banahaw, Sacred and Profane", "Changing Partners", "Throwback Today", "Historiographika Errata", other previous remastered entries, some foreign films who also joined the screenings, and other short films, make sure you look up schedules in Trinoma and Glorietta. I like the movie "Si Chedeng at si Apple" most because of it's plot. The dramedy film really had some really serious scenes and you'll love how the banter between Chedeng and Apple show the values of friendship, love, second winds and relationships. Gloria Diaz became a little unfiltered, capable of being funny at times and completely having the audience hooked on their journey to find a lost lesbian love. I wouldn't want to spoil things for you so you better watch this film made by directors Fatrick Tabada and Rae Red.

Ms. Elisabeth Oropesa was impressive, fully immersing herself with a character that's full of flaws, but completely happy and contented with life, never even looked back after hooking up with a stranger (a fine looking man too). You'll love her and Chedeng, as they tick off things on their bucket list, you'll be eager to do the same thing with your life. Or maybe find a lost love in the process too.

The movies will be shown up until the 21st of November in Trinoma and Glorietta. It starts 12:20pm and screen the last ones around 9:50pm. Hurry because I've seen tickets got sold out last night with this one and the film Nay.

Watch them all this week please! :)

Sandara Park, Thunder, Grace Lee, Sam YG Stars On One Night Food TripInternational Edition on tvN Asia

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

I heard about tvN a couple days ago through the event of iFlix which gave me the idea that this Korean TV corporation isn't playing around as they've got serious TV and series titles on their belt to release Asia wide. Tonight, we had a glimpse of their upcoming original production of One Night Food Trip International Edition which partakes Korean stars and mix them with local ones in different countries to do three things, EAT, PLAY and COMPETE!

Now that might look so easy to do but believe me there willbe trials in between that they need to do in order to win. It will involve mostly local food (in whatever country they are in), culture (as they will deal with people), attractions (to find the best spots in each country) and everything local! When they accomplish each mission, they'll get a chop on their ONE NIGHT FOOD TRIP PASSPORT. Whoever gets the most chops will get the GOLDEN PASSPORT exclusive for the big winner.

You'll see different stars in different countries like Jung Jun-young, Cho Sae-ho, Hsu Chia-yang and Waa Wei for Taiwan, Nakjoon Park, Eric Nam and He Ying-ying for Singapore, Hong Suk-chun, Cho Sae-ho and Lee Ki-chan for Malaysia, Sandara Park, Thunder, Grace Lee and Sam YG for the Philippines.

"The Philippines is one of the most beautiful places in the world, we have unique flavors and you will be surprised how interesting our food will be. It was educational for me and would be a good thing to see on TVN. Sam is so funny, you can't really eat because his humor is very on point, can't really laugh when your mouth is full. My memory of meeting Davaoenos was just so good, they were all so nice!" -Grace Lee

"Grace always wanted to travel with me, but I didn't have load. Now we have a reason to travel, not just a company thing, this is both work and pleasure to showcase how nice the country is, to find the spots and show it to the world. Durian was my wild enemy, I don't know how to eat it but Grace could eat it all! I had nightmares after that. What made it memorable is jumping from one place to another. Shoutout to kimchi and curry team, it was all worthwhile." -Sam YG

"I was taller before, I used to carry him when we were younger, now he's taller than me. We got to see Manila and Palawan in a different light because it's Thunder's first time there. We had to strategize because we didn't eat too much, had to dance several times just to get stamps. When we went to the crocodile farm, we had to eat Crocodile sisig, and I couldn't it was just not the time!" - Sandara Park

"I didn't travel when I was in the Philippines and this was a nice opportunity to connect with my sister and see the other places I wasn't able to go to when I studied here. Our stomach also had limited space so we had to also play just to see who would have to finish the plate. It was also hard to eat the local tamilok, but we couldn't do that." -Thunder

One Night Food Trip International Edition will premier on October 10 and every Tuesday thereafter. The Philippine feature will happen on December 5 at 11pm. Follow their social media accounts @ch.tvnasia on FB, @tvn.asia on IG and @tvN_Asia on Twitter. Go watch them on Cignal and Skycable as they're available there too!

Sandara Park for One Step

Saturday, May 06, 2017

Well well well! I was so happy to have been able to get the chance to interview Sandara Park this afternoon, thanks to the people from Viva Entertainment who will be releasing her film ONE STEP in the Philippines this May. She was happy, giddy even if she lacks sleep but she was ready to answer questions from the press.

"Joross, Luis Manzano, I still am close with them. I also have all my Star Circle Quest family that I still get in touch with. I couldn't stay here forever because I have cats that are waiting for me in Korea. I don't have a lot of investments, just a house, a car, my clothes because I really love fashion. Filipinos love music and I think they will get to relate as we all have problems, but we want to make it better and I hope my fans would watch it. I'm expecting it to be wilder here because in Korea they are really very reserved and quiet, and when I watched block screenings here, it was different and I was even hiding during My Ex and Whys. My Director kinda noticed I knew blocking and doing movies, I told them it was because I did movies in the Philippines too so it was really easy to do this, like we finished everything in one month. They gave me like 4-5 songs and she just asked me what I really liked and that's what ended up in the movie. You should know I didn't get to act anymore in those years that I was in 2NE1, I only did it in Music Videos but not in real movies. Now that I am, I am so happy they noticed. I don't have a boyfriend, I have MU's but wasn't brave enough to have one because it's indicated in the contract. I'm really happy that I'm working, my cats are cuter so I'm staying at home. Last year we had talks of doing a movie, suggested a leading man but I think it was moved because the guy's schedule and mine wouldn't get in sync. I think I'm educating Koreans but it's really in my heart. I have nothing to do with Robi's split up, I'm not the reason nor am I involved in it. In the movie, I love the big performances, I love it because they tell me they cried about it. I didn't have a workshop before this and there were a lot of changes because we had so many ideas, that alone was already a workshop. It also is quite similar how we shoot here and in Korea. I also wish I would be able to record a couple of songs we left with our producer CL, I want to do those songs. I'm already happy though this is my first step and there is already the next one. I hope you get to all watch One Step!"

One Step will be shown in theaters starting May 10, so if you wanna see how Sandara Park made her first ever Korean film, this is it!
