TCL Shares Life Stories Through Sports

It's another evening with blogger and media friends over at TCL's 35th Anniversary. The well loved TV brand is launching a campaign for families highlighting inspiring stories of athletes in cooperation with ESPN. It's a 4 part web series which they dubbed "Inspiring Bonding Moments featuring world class athletes from the Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. Heck, it's got Simone Rota in the lead!

For those who don't know, Simone Rota was abandoned in an orphanage called Buklod Kalinga before getting adopted by an Italian couple when he was 6 months old. They moved to Milan and he grew to have had his first professional football at age 17. He has played for international teams in Italy and Switzerland, but he never forgot about where he came from. So at age 29, he went back to the Philippines to search for his parents and found Sister May of the Buklod Kalinga orphanage. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to find them after several attempts to do so. Later on, he found his affinity with the kids from the center and made it his life mission to run a food program and teach the kids football too. 

TCL stands for The Creative Life and the company believes technology should be used to being people together. As they show the athletes personal stories, they hope we learn the lessons of love, loss, and selflessness. TLC wants to walk the talk, so after this campaign, they are giving Buklod Kalinga sports equipment to encourage the youth to develop their talents in something they are passionate about, and that is sports. Joyce Ching Celebrates Birthday in Orphanage

It's been a while since we've seen the beautiful Joyce Ching. She just celebrated her birthday with kids from Holy Trinity Home for Children, a shelter for kids without a home or family. They teach them catechism, good manners and send them to school. 

Joyce is currently part of the new love series Because of You which stars Gabby Concepcion and Carla Abellana. She portrays the role of Cheska Salcedo, the daughter of Jaime Salcedo played by Gabby. She's probably going to have a play in the relationship because it'll be difficult to pursue something if there are kids involved. It's fun actually, not too heavy. It's more romantic, more kilig, and it just is more conflicting because they probably love each other, but there are times when Jaime just had to leave for family matters. This is where Andrea feels so left out, as she first was left hanging in the mountains where they first got to tell each other how they feel.

Anyway, Joyce was so happy during this celebration because she got to spend time with kids. During our small interview, we asked Joyce a few questions about the show. Here's a short video:

Joyce isn't entertaining suitors as of the moment but realizes she has fixed a lot of things in her life after her previous relationship. She has matured a lot and is focusing on her studies and career. She's planning to finish her studies as she's taking up film in Mint College. She's eager to actually be behind the camera in the coming months, and perhaps make a few documentaries based on the scripts she also made. She's also happy that her fans were in the event supporting her, they personally packed everything that they gave away to the kids. She's been very blessed, and hopes she would continue to have more projects after the current series she's in.

She also told us that during the cake blowing, she wished for the kids to have successful careers, make their dreams come true. Isn't that selfless? It's one of the reasons I love her, she's down to earth, and very humble. Happy birthday dear!

I Voted... You Should Too! The BENCH 1M41M Campaign!

What can a single tweet do? What can your statement do in this campaign? In this day and age you probably think it's worthless to just message friends and family. BENCH knows how powerful social media is; and your social network would be the key ingredient to make this particular campaign to work. Yes it's our beloved Jason Francisco on top and when he keeps this lead he'll surely be getting a 100,000 upto 1 Million Pesos for his charity Mother of Mercy Home for the Elderly. I love his cause and will be campaigning for him of course! I know how the elderly needs all the love they can get. They only have a few years so giving back to people who have spent their lives in the Philippines is just right. MELASON, Pexers, Tropang Jason and other clubs... asahan ko ba ang tulong nyo?! =)

I also have my other bets like Rocco Nacino, he's rooting for the Cancer Warriors Foundation. This guy also has gone leaps and bounds in his career and he sternly believes in helping some of our less fortunate and ailing kababayans. It's really expensive to go to hospitals and have treatment for Cancer, my Grandma died from complications of it and I hope people see they need to help people, isang follow sa twitter lang. Isabelle Daza would like you to vote for her and the charity she's helping EPHESUS, HOME OF THE ABUSED GIRLS in BULACAN. Teen pregnancy has been very rampant and without family to help or support them, this foundation would do just that. Isn't that reason enough to follow @benchtm and vote for her cause?

Jake Cuenca is rooting for C.R.I.B.S. Foundation (Create Responsive Infants By Sharing). Kids/Babies who have been abandoned, neglected or been born to teen parents who can't raise them are been taken cared of in this agency. Kids do not have the capability to choose their parents and there are less fortunate ones who go through this. It was my first time seeing her since Philippine Fashion Week. Although we didn't talk that much she had this very nice aura. She was tall and beautiful. I used to watch Lotlot and Monching's show in Channel 9 (pardon the age) but I didn't think she was going to be this gorgeous. Ganda no? =) She's helping White Cross Childrens Home in San Juan. It's quite close to where I live and I have been there a couple of times. Kids need you and your help, it just takes you a couple of minutes to press buttons and vote for her charity. We should do it and help these celebrities help these charities now!
