ProPak Philippines Slated for February

Tuesday, November 08, 2022

The biggest processing and packaging event is going to happen this February 1-3, 2023 as ProPak Philippines will happen at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Philippines. It has been quite a good venue to promote products in packaging, processing, machinery especially for food, beverages, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics and more.

Arch Prakasvudhisarn the Events Manager for Informa Markets says "With the industry needs in packaging technologies, we listen and studies so we can contribute in SME's. No one is left behind. These are many partners we work with in the industry. We are expecting 250 exhibitors including those from Italy, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. For those looking for products and sustainable packaging, this is the perfect opportunity to see what could benefit your businesses and be part of the progressive solutions that can now be made here in the country."

Usec. Blesila Lantayona of DTI says "The pioneering edition of ProPak Philippines was very successful. DTI pushed for innovative packaging initiatives called Pak Pinas through seminars and trade fairs which is why we partnered with MSME Trade Council, DOST, and other private organizations to drive businesses to scale up by doing packaging, marketing, and certification through better technology. We will continue to support ProPak as we see huge potential, congratulations to ProPak Philippines!"

Dr. Jhino Ilano of the Export Marketing Bureau of DTI adds "January to September was a time when we increased imports compared to previous years. We are bouncing back compared to pre-pandemic values. We have seen 11% and continuously growing especially electronics, coconut oil and a lot of other products that have huge potential. We have shown huge export growth and can attribute it to improvement of Filipino products and sustainable ways of doing it."

Engr. Hignio Porte Jr. the President of Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association says "We partnered with Informa Markets and brought our members to Thailand and it has since made us the third biggest in SEA, but posting highest growth. From over the counter products, vitamins, minerals, immune boosting products including paracetamol was all sold out during the pandemic. There is still high demand and world market growth in the pharma industry. I envy Indonesia and Thailand as much of their products are locally produced before they get released in the country. I told congress about this and even DOH is getting medicine from India and China instead of locally doing it. We have world class distribution in the country, very comparable to products outside the country."

Antonio Tanael of Philippine Printing Technical Foundation also says "Packaging is going to be an important part of what's going to happen in February, we will be supporting ProPak Philippines and working with them hand in hand."

Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. President  Jeremiah Paul Morales says "In the Philippines, in every corner, there are franchise owners. We heeded the call of Franchise. ProPak Asia has helped us in learning more about packaging technologies especially in food where we are involved. Now that they are here, it is going to be more accessible for franchise owners this coming February."

Norman Camungol of Production and Operations Management Association of the Philippines says "This is the most important sector, with a higher multiply effect. It also affects supply chains, inducing demands for technology. We introduce changes and contribute to taxes. The manufacturing sector is now going digital, from web and email channels, it's challenging to make that experience better for the customer. Industries are using smartphones and do video conferencing. You also use apps, smart tech that are all here now. We also use analytics in lots of areas. Our lives are all connected on social media, and machines, systems, can also be like that. The diagnosis can be done quite fast. The ability also to connect to consumers is happening and it shortens sale cycles, delivering products at a faster pace. Before, it takes weeks to find customers but in Nueva Viscaya, there are a lot of farmers who already sell produce even before they get harvested. We need a holistic approach, and it shouldn't be one segment. We used to be a quarter of the economy and we want to have representation just like other countries parliaments. Our partners in packaging and we have partnered with ProPak and DTI in the field of manufacturing."

Anna Anastacio of GS1 Philippines says "We hope to be able to support local packaging especially our 116 member organizations around the world. Ours is the organization authorized to issue prefixes in barcode numbers. It allows products to be sold locally and internationally. It carries info on products, and GS1 Philippines will be in the ProPak event this February."

It's going to be a great place to see businesses and packaging professionals work together and level up your products. Make the trip to World Trade Center in Pasay. Get access in person, or visit informamarkets.com for more information.

VICE GANDA Says "Better SARI than SORRY" with Saridon and SariMAX

Thursday, June 02, 2022

Health brands Saridon and SariMAX got us all excited this afternoon for 2Good2BeTrue, a new campaign they have for Filipino consumers. We are back at work, the office, or perhaps at home but we sometimes get sick, so Bayer knows how this exists.

Eileen Kuan of Bayer says "Today is all about feeling good, we want to share the good news about our new campaign especially the one with Vice Ganda that was so successful. This time we are showcasing two of our new products Saridon and SariMAX."

Bayer Consumer Health Philippines Toby Manlapat says "2Good2BeTrue, how often do we hear an excuse about headaches, fever, pain? I'm sure we do that one way or another, but now you can say SARI, instead of sorry as we have 2 of our pain relief products with Saridon (Propyphenazone/paracetamol/caffeine) and SariMAX (Naproxen Sodium). We have people try this, for a pain free body we need it for our daily grind. This is availble for Php 5.50 for Saridon, and 10 pesos for SariMAX. Remember, it's better Sari than Sorry."

Dr Leah Manio the Consumer Health Lead for Bayer Philippines says "One pill can give 12 hours relief. Saridon is an analgesic, anti inflammatory, and gives you alertness + good mood. It gets released in 5 minutes, so pain relief is faster."

Vice Ganda says "Talagang 2Good2BeTrue no? Kamusta po kayong lahat?! My fave vacation spots are HK and Japan, I want to party and have lots of food. I also want it near so I don't go far when I take a vacation. Right now, I want to always be with Ion, I want to see him daily and he calms me down. Jackie also is an angel, she knows where everything is so I need her by my side because I won't be able to work easy without her. When I also bought my Mom her house, I saw how happy she was. Love can be faithful, love can be painful but still beautiful. I still have lots of plans, to have a family, but I'm not in a hurry. I want to penetrate the international market, Hollywood, who knows?! Sometimes we look at the future too much, we sometimes need to look now. I need help with my knees, and my stomach especially when I'm at work and in heels. For now, I want to work with big stars like Sarah Geronimo and maybe a film with Regine Velasquez."

Magic Darmawan the Country Head of Bayer Consumer PH says "Thank you to everyone who attended today, thank you for supporting Saridon and SariMAX. Stay Safe and God Bless!"

Inspirations: Meet the Pharmaton Life Chargers

Monday, August 18, 2014

We went to a Pharmaton event this afternoon as they selected people that would best represent themselves as Life Chargers, a new campaign specifically to bolster inspiration to people who have inspired others and make themselves inspirations too later on. Their tag line was "What inspires you?" I was asked the same question earlier so I answered quite practically and said money. Of course, there are a lot of things that should be important than that. People like the Pharmaton Life Chargers Hindy Weber Tantoco, Maxie Abad, Michelle Ressa Aventajado, Chef Rob Pengson and Anthony Suntay are truly sources of inspiration, they are also inspired by others who are driven in pursuing their goals.

Maxie Abad is a former member of the Philippine National Football Team. He's also a lawyer and manages to still teach youth who loves the sport. He mentions "I truly find inspiration from kids, it's a venue where you can see them grow up from boys to men in a snap. Finding them achieving more than you would be the proudest moment. Seeing them excel in sports even out of football is already the best "take back" you can get from them."

Everyone in the sports world knows Mr. Anthony Suntay. He's gone to every ball sport in the country and if you're not seeing him here, he's probably somewhere else in Europe, the US or elsewhere in Asia covering the biggest sports events there is. He said "I figured what else could I do when you hit a wall (talking about his stints in the Philippines), I ventured with other companies based internationally and got to cover places outside the Philippines." He advises everyone to stay dynamic, but get Pharmaton so it will get you more energy to take care of your family.

Michelle Aventajado finds opportunities to educate people whenever there is a chance. She doesn't take it personally and takes her time to explain things about special children. She also understands where they are coming from because there are challenges in education and being informed. Still, she remains inspired and continues to provide inspiration to other people. "My students and children teach me too, you can learn so much from kids."

Hindy Tantoco keeps her integrity through trials, resilience and perseverance. If she gets to still take that in her place, she's already fulfilled in making a positive change. She's okay with non organic stuff too and doesn't blind herself from those she can benefit from. She's taking it easy now and supplementing with more while staying healthy. She didn't stop with fashion but she takes her time now unlike before where she goes home so late and think about next season to stay ahead. She researched about the benefits of Pharmaton and the idea of supplementing is a good thing for her. She still is a believer in growing your own food, and staying organic. It's what she's been very busy with and the task has continued to inspire people to do the same. This is why she's part of Pharmaton's Life Chargers. It was a treat to talk to her too that afternoon, she was so nice.

Chef Rob Pengson wasn't the smartest kid but at age 19, he asked his folks to get him to study culinary arts. It was difficult, but he was challenged and got to achieve a lot because he knows this is his passion... and he said when he worked with his passion, that's where his life totally changed. They began to open a school in 2007, saying it was a gamble, but when he showed his passion to students who enrolled at that time, that's how he got the ball rolling. Now, Global Academy is one of the biggest culinary schools in the country. He's now giving chance to students to excel, even giving scholarships to deserving ones from far flung provinces as he continues to still follow his passion. He says "Stay resilient and follow your passion, work out and eat the right food. Supplement well, no matter what you eat you don't get everything and Pharmaton resolves that."

These Pharmaton Life Chargers will be continuing to inspire more people, they're as ordinary as you and me but they make their life better by sharing their passion to other people. Take Pharmaton and do the same, it'll help you understand how anyone can be an inspiration to others. I'll try that too!
