In His Self Titled Album: Ken Chan

Friday, August 01, 2014

Young good looking guy Ken Chan launches album!

I've met Ken Chan in a charity event several months ago. During that time, I didn't know who he was, what he did or what he wanted to do with his career. A little background check and I've learned he's already a pro in commercials, he joined the stable of German Moreno in his late night show "Walang Tulugan" (No Sleep) together with other teens. Later on, he joined the cast of Tween Hearts which was a huge break. That might have stretched his teen years a little and broaden his fan base. He's done several shows later on, the most recent one of which is the top billing "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real" (The two Mrs. Real's). Then now it's another feather to his hat as he begins his recording career with a self titled album "Ken Chan".

One of the greatest entertainers in the Philippines, legendary Father to the stars German Moreno.
German Moreno himself was in the album launch to give support to the young artist. He also mentioned how they will continue to support and give recognition to artists who excel in their craft especially those who are good at it. He also heads the Philippine "Walk of Fame" that's found in Eastwood City and he mentioned a number of people that will be immortalized there pretty soon. Ken as he said works pretty hard and he hopes to find him fulfill his dreams the soonest.

Ken Chan also treated us with some songs on his album. The first one was "The Boyfriends" original song "Nais Kong Malaman Mo" (I want you to know) then an original called "Paikot-ikot" written by Kiko Salazar (Spinning) which is another OPM song in the track list. He's also got "Dahil Ikaw", Born For You, Tulog Na and Sumayaw Sumunod plus its equivalent instrumentals which completes his album's 12 tracks. It's also available on iTunes so there's no excuse for people abroad to purchase it.

I got the vibe that Ken's very thankful about those who have helped him to make this album possible. When asked about what's next for him, he told me that he's taking it day by day. Whatever opportunities arise, he'll be grateful and will try his best to grab it. He's also glad that he found his purpose in life and he's looking forward to more projects where his abilities to sing, dance and act would be utilized in its fullest potential. He wants to entertain more people and I'm sure he'll get there. Congratulations Ken! You deserve each and every bit of your success. I hope to see you achieve more than you wish for, because you are a really good person inside and out!

Make sure you get his album which is out now on leading record bars nationwide!

COLDPLAY Live 2012! - Available Now on CD+DVD!

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Stadiums filled with people, albums selling like hotcakes, men oozing sexiness just like me. Nostalgia, that's one word to describe it but I almost cried seeing this. I was invited with a few people to a private viewing of COLDPLAY's concert DVD. It's slated to be released this Friday, that's November 30, 2012. Roughly around 100 minutes++ of unadulterated, pure music, lights and exhilarating concert experience made special because the band members had a say on it. They designed the whole thing with the people in mind so in turn they become a part of it. How?! Well let's just say that's exactly one of the things you should watch for when you purchase this after Friday. There are also several countries where they performed in but most of it is shot in Paris where you'll see a humongous stadium all filled with fans screaming their lungs out just for COLDPLAY.

This one isn't actually for local release. This is the international version. Those scribbles actually was seen also in the concert stage. I won't tell you how, you must get it first before it makes sense hehe.

All their best hits plus new ones are included in this DVD release. Mylo Xyloto (which is consequently also the fifth studio album by this British alternative rock band), Hurts Like Heaven, In My Place, Major Minus, Yellow, Violet Hall, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Princess of China, Up In Flames, Viva La Vida, my personal favorite Charlie Brown, Paradise, Us Against The World, Clocks, Fix You and Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.Oh and before I forget, Mylo Xyloto charted at number one in 34 countries on its first week so just imagine how much airplay their song gets in one day! The first week alone walloped 208,000 units of this!

Coldplay Live 2012 is their first concert film/live album. They're around the world touring and showing this concert to almost 3 Million people across countries.Chris Martin has never been so proud of this because the Mylo Xyloto tour made them realize that its the most fun they've ever had in a long time. From laser lights, to pyrotechnics and wristbands, it has been an honor for them to have had the chance to have their throng of fans perform with them in the concert. We were at awe at what we saw in Paris so don't even think about not watching it!

Go grab your copies on Friday! It will be available in Coldplay Live 2012 CD+DVD (Philippine Version) for only 485 Philippine Pesos and Coldplay Live 2012 CD+DVD (Imported Limited Edition) with free Mylo Xyloto baller for 1,500 Philippine Pesos. Thanks to the people from Astroplus/Astrovision, Odyssey Music and Video, and Polyeast Records. HALE: The Complete Hits Album

Thursday, June 28, 2012

I have seen this guy in the past when we got the chance to talk with SomeDayDream a few months ago. I haven't seen them perform as a group "live" though aside from the occasional appearances they had with MYX via public television. He was nice, he had that presence and I'm not surprised he's got a huge following because aside from good looks... Champ Lui Pio's got so much talent. That goes the same with everyone in his band called Hale.

Although we're all so shocked about their decision to disband for all the wrong or right reasons, we still continue to reminisce and ask ourselves... why do I love Hale and their songs. We might not even know why or how we could get the band back but for the latter we can easily get our fix of their music! Polyeast Records just came out with the "Platinum Collection : HALE | The Complete Hits Album". If you are a fan of the band or their songs, you would never want to let this thing pass because aside from the CD this contains a DVD compilation of all the greatest hits you love from HALE. This is surely something that fans should never miss. The playlist also boasts of 17 songs which topped Philippine charts when the band was still together. The song choices alone were great, I wonder if they had a hand at this. You should definitely watch the DVD first before listening to the CD. I guess that's the part where you get nostalgic.

Honestly I see quite a ton of sadness in some of these songs. But there's actually truth in these things. These songs matter to guys in general. Girls dig the part where its supposed to be sung to them. You dream of how these emotions could possibly be expressed; they use lyrics and music. Hale just does it like clockwork. It's like poetry put into a song. It's deep that you get depressed in a good way (if there is such a thing). Heavy on most of the ones included in the album; but totally apt for the occasion. There's like a sense of sadness but you love how it just brings your sanity back to something that would totally communicate how you feel when it happens to you. A breakup, a situation, a thing of the past just comes crashing back to you after hearing them play their music.

Broken Sonnet, The Day You Said Goodnight are given favorites. What I love in this album though is quite a surprise... it's the single Magkaibang Mundo. Not only because the official music video stars one of my muse Angel Locsin but because the words touched me the most. It's kinda situational too and I won't tell you I had a similar experience. No I won't tell you really LOL. I guess this album's strong point is that everybody's got a situation they can relate to. That's exactly what the songwriter probably wanted to do in the first place. If you like the band, the song and their music, you should definitely have this album. You'll regret it if you don't.

Please drop by your favorite record stores nationwide and get it. With a CD and DVD it's a collectors item. Thanks to Polyeast Records for making sure we have enough inspiration with Hale's music until now. I just wish somehow, someday they still get to play together. I'm with you.
