Sam Concepcion and Julie Anne San Jose Graces The Cover Of PINOY MAG!

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Yes they do cross borders.

It looks like teen sensations Sam Concepcion and Julie Anne San Jose just tore down the network wars wall and combined in a one of a kind cover for Pinoy Mag; the country's premier music magazine. To make things even better it'll be on the March - April 2012 issue and I'm sure fans from all directions can't wait to have this particular issue in their hands.

Julie Ann San Jose, a teen charmer from GMA who got me impressed when she sang something when I visited the Party Pilipinas set months ago is surprisingly quite grown up already. She's still hot and paired up with rap prince Elmo Magalona and I think they are trying it out now with someone quite close to her genre of songs. I have seen quite a few who agree to this team up and seen some SAMLIE fans already making a scene in their appearances. Is this something Elmo should be jealous about?! I dunno!

For what it's worth, I think some are seeing this as a threat to their love team although I see this as a great working relationship. Sam Concepcion is no stranger to singing either because he has worked with some of the best ones in the region and in the world. If these two become a pair today, the voices alone would tell us it's meant to be. Would the JulieElmo fans beg to differ? I'm sure they will but what's great is that even if they are from different networks and won in programs that were in direct competition they still had time to get together for projects like this cover for Pinoy Mag. Aren't you excited about what could happen next to SAMLIE once this becomes something more than friendship? I'm as clueless as you are but I am extremely happy that they got to work together, music definitely transcends network wars... its something that the greater good of music can definitely agree with.

Here's a video of the pair singing No Air uploaded by Youtube user/fan AmBootSaImo

So for those who want to grab a copy of this Pinoy Mag issue to check out what they have to say in this whole brouhaha, head on to your favorite 7/11, Mini-stop, Odyssey Record Bars, Astroplus, Booksale, Filbars, NBS, Shell Select, Mightee Mart, newsstands, bookstores and supermarkets nationwide! This will surely sell like hotcakes eh?!

SMASH Project 2012 Tonight!

Thursday, March 08, 2012

If you haven't got any plans for tonight, make sure you get some tickets to one of the biggest ROCK Concerts to ever grace the country. SMASH PROJECT 2012 will definitely give you one heck of an experience to see Dashboard Confessional, The Cab, Cobra Starship and The Used in the flesh! I had first dibs yesterday and it was CRAZY! I was like a fan all over again!

Pretty VJ from MYX hosted the event. She was really nice.

Yeap! That's Chris Carraba of Dashboard Confessional. He was so awesome in person and you won't feel that air between fan and rockstar when you are near him. Quite a nice bub. I asked him about the limited edition album and it looks like a gloomy day for me. It was really limited as in 500 pcs for the US alone. Wish I had that really.

He'll surely bring the house down with the hit single STOLEN. It's my personal favorite that's why you saw that in the post below this one =)

The USED. Let me just tell you... I had a ton and a half of laughs. GRABE Bert McCracken was a CHARACTER. It was really rowdy. I felt his excitement. This bit above alone was the time he was telling I LOVE YOU to everyone... especially the boys hahahah Man it was FUN meeting them!

They were really having fun even if they just arrived 2 hours earlier before this press conference happened. Their music as they say isn't EMO as anyone is implying. It's just ROCK and nothing else. They don't believe they belong to any group or genre. They simply just would like to make music and nothing else. If it's there turn to impress you at the Smart Araneta Coliseum I'm sure you'll have the same dose of what I had that afternoon.

I wasn't joking when I said he was having fun hahaha!

I'm sure you'll have a grand time listening to their more serious music! =) They simply left their former label because they were being screened and suggested a lot of stuff which will hamper their creative freedom. So they fired them LOL!

Okay ladies... don't tell me I didn't warn you!

THE CAB is here!

Yeap, I know... they were good looking eh?!

Their music influences include POP artists too so you can expect a lot more from The Cab come tonight. I'm sure you guys will have a lot of fun. Sorry I can't go I have work hehehe =)

Thank you so much to Dayly Entertainment, Dickies, everyone at Polyeast Records. Thank you so much for the chance to see these rockstars in the flesh. You guys have a grand time in the concert tonight! =)

Oh and as an extra treat, here's a video of the press conference :)

Music, Education and Inspirations

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

There are some things in life that I want to achieve. Although it is pretty late to wish for it, I want to become a musician. I know for a fact that it wouldn't be achieved by merely learning from my peers or just doing exercises on paper. A few days from now I'll be interviewing one of the most prolific artist/composer the country has ever produced and I want to draw inspiration from what she did to make it to the top. If you also have some questions for her it would be really nice to leave a comment on this article and I'd personally ask her about it. I would like to also see if it would be feasible for me to get into escuelas de musica and get me a course or two. Getting educated in the most reputable schools and finishing something in this field would guarantee employment and opportunities that we would never even dream about.

Where do I start? Where do we draw inspiration from? Would it be hard for an ordinary person to penetrate a saturated music industry? What do you think is the biggest break you ever got from being in the recording industry for years? What do you think made you famous and what kept you stay there? I've got a lot of questions that remain unanswered but I'd like to have them at least be discussed with someone who already made it big. Wouldn't that be just inspiring?!

Let me know what you think! I'll wait for your comments! =)
