Success According to Beautéderm CEO Rhea Tan

 

It was a fine afternoon to head onto Angeles Pampanga to celebrate with Beautéderm to mark the 1st year of their headquarters. Aside from that, it was also the start of the Lunar Year and Sam Milby's renewal of contract with the beauty brand. It was hosted by Beautéderm CEO Ms. Rhea Tan, and she didn't just want it to be just a party, but a moment to get to know each other. This was amongst her celebrity endorsers, the traditional and online media.

After warmly welcoming us all at her 7 storey building, she let us take refuge at one of the rooms to talk more amongst ourselves and the folks at Beaute Beanery (their house coffee shop). They had a variety of food and drinks in the joint, and it was nice to have them at the first stop. This same place also has their other brands BlancPro, BeauteHaus and A-List Avenue. Then we went to the top floor where we got to meet several of their endorsers like Carlo Aquino, DJ Jhaiho, Ms. Sylvia Sanchez, Alma Concepcion, Sunshine Garcia-Castro, Darla Sauler, Kimson Tan, the very generous Patricia Tumulak, Gillian Vicencio and the good looking Sam Milby. 

 Instead of the usual interviews, they had us play a lot of games so we got to chat and react like we didn't have walls between us. It broke the ice, and got us laughing because things weren't so serious anymore. The mood was fun and festive, and I think that's exactly what Ms. Rei wanted to happen that day. 

Though of course, we were there for work. The fancy building, the posh corners of it had some of us wonder, how was she able to become a very successful entrepreneur after all these years? Ms. Rhea said "I've been asked that question a lot of times, but really, THERE IS NO SECRET. All these things, the things I have, are all because of hard work. This event is just something we just had to do, and the overwhelming love and support you've shown by going here from Manila, that's so sweet, and later I'll be seeing some of you who will be staying. Welcome to the Beautederm Headquarters in Angeles City, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year and the first anniversary of this building. This has been built with strength, courage and love. It's really nice to look back on how we were able to make this all come true. From planning, construction and interior design, this serves as an inspiration that WE CAN ALL DO IT. You should always go for it. But just a small flex, it's so good to feel that you have your own building. Let's celebrate this moment, and the people behind it. Because of them, our consumers, our media friends, our employees, our endorsers, my franchisees, you made it all happen and I hope you value that. The year of the Wood Dragon symbolizes strength, success, and social impact. Do the things you love with strength, and make an impact. This is how Beautéderm works, we boost consumer confidence, and we give back to the community. We will continue to do that! We are celebrating 15 Beautéful Years this 2024. My heart is so full, I love you all! May success be with us always!"

Derrick Monasterio Releases New Album

Seeing the physical copy of Derrick Monasterio's self titled album brings back memories. He celebrated his birthday through a charity event a few years back together with his Mom in a small barangay in Quezon City. I remember him telling me during an interview that he wanted to get serious with his singing career while still doing projects for GMA. Derrick has been hoping for this for a long time, and I think fate has brought him here. He has been doing live shows, international ones (remember One Asia?) and even went the mile of guesting several major concerts in the past year and I could say Derrick isn't just a good looking face, he can really sing.

The young man wanted to make a dent in the music industry and brings forth true blue OPM songs as he truly wants this to be something that Filipinos would be able to relate to, get airplay in a regular basis and ultimately be something that people would sing along to when he does mall shows and concerts of his own. When that happens, then he could already say this album is already successful. He wants his music to go out there, and he's glad that GMA Records gave him the chance to do it with a free hand so he could choose songs that he loves. He also got so lucky that master singer songwriter Ogie Alcasid gave him the rights to one of his songs, all free. He's honored to have been able to receive that honor when he's just starting.

Here's the fun interview we had with him a couple of weeks back. He also has duets in the album so you'll never get bored with the variety, you could see he's a little bit nervous and overwhelmed about the whole thing but I assure you he's very happy about how this album turned out.

I am very proud to have been able to witness how his star continues to brightly shine. Obviously he's being groomed to be one of the great leading men in the station. He's bound to be a regular name in your homes, I can't wait for that to happen. He's already doing the leg work, he works out regularly, he's looking gorgeous already and in the next few years, he's going to be up there.

The Secret to Success and Riches

I am a skeptic; I only bow down to facts that make sense and things that are not out of the ordinary. There are some times that I doubt my self because there are unexplainable events in this world that even I could not comprehend. Science has tried for centuries to explain this phenomenon but to no avail. There are things that are decided by fate and a certain amount of luck.

Have you heard of FENG SHUI? The Chinese have been using this to arrange certain elements and things in their life so that the outcome of every thing that they do convert into streaks of luck. I remember a GEOMANCER once told me about how I could literally change the way of life that I have just by re-arranging the furniture and construction of my house. I was totally against it at first because I was naturally born fictional writer and what seemed to me what he was doing was quite similar. He was telling me to make certain pieces moved inside my house so that the flow of energy would be smooth and not stagnant. I was not into spirits and all that mumbo jumbo but my folks told me to give it a try. My reasoning just gave me ample amount of courage to give it a chance and so I did it.

There are also some recommended water elements he wanted to introduce but I was not into taking care of fish and livestock he might have in mind. I used fountains instead which made that corner of the house more relaxing, a thing that I need to do most. Today, I'm living an easy life but I don't think it was attributed solely to that, so I'm willing to read a couple of books about it and see what it has in store for me. Maybe there are feng shui ebooks that would be able to explain these weird things I have been hearing. I wish I could say "I believe" one of these days though.
