Swensen's® : The Ulitmate Sundae Experience Opens in Eastwood City!

Head's up summers here! But it's actually time to extinguish that craving with something more appropriate for the season and yes it'll be better because SWENSEN's is here!

Swensen's who opened their flagship store in Mall of Asia's South Wing now has something up their sleeves as they open their second branch which is just a stone's throw away from my office at the Eastwood City. It's in the Eastwood Mall's 2nd Floor Veranda; and I was so excited to get first dibs via the scoop off! 

People in central Quezon City now have reason to rejoice as those sweet, creamy, dreamy concoctions are heading over to our area with the same AWESOME goodness Swensen's is known for the world over!

My hot afternoon got extinguished with this Snickers inspired sundae they call Snick-A-Choc. I was always fond of the candy and this was greatly represented by that. It didn't disappoint in the taste department because they obviously do not hold back in giving you the best ingredients. Most of these are imported and only a few fruits are locally sourced. They do not want to compromise quality and take pride in making your sundae experience the ULTIMATE one in each serving!

World class preparation, storage and ingredients from Swensen's. You can expect nothing less!

For cookie lovers, this one is highly recommended. This is part of their Chocolate Fantasy line called Oreo Cookies'n Cream. I've tasted this one in the past, its like a freshly dunked cookie made cold. =)

Your Maltesers just got even better on this one called Frosted Choc Malt Fantasy. Those round maltesers could be hiding in velvety chocolate ice cream so I'm sure you won't have any problems looking for it!

One of their signature sundaes called Strawberry, Banana and Cream for obvious reasons is a top seller. I love this one too! Who can resist fresh fruits in Ice Cream anyway!

For Waffle lovers, this basket sundae they call Crispy Cocktail would definitely be something you would go for if you like that fruit fix together with Ice Cream. Who says it can't be healthy? =)

Those things you miss when you were a kid and you thought you won't see it anymore. Care for a Banana Boat? Yes they have that kind of Sundae too. 

If that version doesn't inspire you enough to have a weekend break with your kids maybe this Nutty Banana would make you feel a whole lot better!

It doesn't end there. They've got a whole lot of Sundaes and more in their menu that you haven't seen yet. If you don't think this is heavenly enough, try to stop what you are doing now and visit them at the 2nd Floor of the Eastwood Mall's Veranda and get your Swensen's fix. They are officially opening today, Saturday May 5, 2012. It's the best thing you'll ever do for your kids and loved ones. The ULTIMATE SUNDAE EXPERIENCE is just in Eastwood City or the South Wing of Mall of Asia. Take your pick and get yourself introduced to what Swensen's is all about!

The EARTHQUAKE: Swensen's Greatest Sundae Offering!

Swensen's is dubbed as America's Favorite Ice Cream since 1948. Successfully founded their first store in San Francisco offering quality, quantity and value for their money; founder Earle Swensen has shown the general public that this is the formula for running a great brand. I told you a few months back that this is already in the Philippines and it was high time that I try and encounter their biggest sundae offering promptly called "The Earthquake".

Just imagine 8 scoops of rich, thick, awesome ice cream goodness plus sweet crunchy toppings all in one huge bowl for you to enjoy. When I saw it that HUGE I knew I couldn't finish it all by myself so I got my friends to tag along. Myke Soon from http://mixofeverything.blogspot.com/ and Azrael Coladilla of http://azraelsmerryland.blogspot.com/ joined to encounter this phenomenal treat from Swensen's!

It's humongous serving and great ingredients spelled the "principle of the brand" and got us a little challenged. Scoop after scoop we tasted the different flavors as we shared one bowl of awesome rich ice cream sundae goodness! Az liked the almonds, whilst Myke liked the cream since its rich yet not too sweet. I love the various flavors and that's what is going to keep me coming back for more, for new mega sundaes never before seen in the islands!

Oh did I forget to tell you about the Rootbeer Float too?! =)

In my standards, it definitely passed with flying colors! If it was possible to take this home I'd probably have my folks jumping up and down of excitement. But that would melt on the way so you really need to visit their store at the South Wing - Mall of Asia. More branches will be opening soon! Rumor has it that they'll have one more in Eastwood! Get that Earthquake fix for sharing with friends and family!

That Thing You'll Surely Love: Swensen's!

Have you ever dreamed of your perfect Sundae? Yeah! Those perfect scoops of premium ice cream, tons of nuts, marshmallows, slivers of your favorite fruit and oozing caramel, chocolate or strawberry syrup?! Swensen's was founded in 1948. It began as a small Ice Cream Store at the corner of Union & Hyde Street in San Francisco. Earle Swensen began as a small entrepreneur making ice cream from small churners in the goal to discover the best recipes using the finest ingredients available in the market. Right from the get go he made sure his success emanates from three key principles: quality, quantity and value for their money. He made a couple of flavors and cooked them all via trial and error methods; today almost 150 are available on full Swensen's Stores. Although there will be more!

Now in the Philippines!

Swensen's has continually grown over the years and they have put up branches in states like Arizona, California, Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, and Texas. They also have branches in other countries like China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Thailand. The question is, why not the Philippines?!

It's time so they say but before that happened, proud owners Chito and Lizzie Guerrero of famed restaurants Grilla and The Old Spaghetti House were just touring Bangkok and saw these shops serving awesome Sundaes + food stuff and they tried it out. True enough they kept coming back for more to fulfill their fix of their own fantasy Sundaes. They wanted to bring this to the Philippines but had a lot of problems about getting the franchise then. When they got it, they were excited because they know this will be a huge hit in a tropical country such as ours. Plus they will get to experience first hand those favorite flavors they loved so much! How did it fare?! Well, let me show you something to think about... =)

First Scoop of Swensen's Philippines!

Swensen's is no ordinary ice cream shop. Unlike Philippine ice cream brands who put in tempting photos in their menu but send you mediocre servings, Swensen's give you the things photos even can't justify. It's like everything that comes out of their kitchen is a work of art! Visiting their first flagship store in Mall of Asia (South Wing beside the Department Store Entrance) we went in and ordered one of their best sellers!

Coffee and Mocha Almond

Imagine thin baked slices of almond, various nuts, banana and vanilla ice cream covered in thick luscious caramel. Saw it in the menu and immediately said yes just by looking at the ingredients. True enough when it arrived in my table it was HUGE! Remember that local store that said they serve Sundaes? You would completely forget that! Swensen's is different! Because they serve the real deal Sundae you see in the menu and price wise, I say it's even a steal given that almost everything that's on your tall glass is imported! Heck even the glass itself was imported! =) (Refrigerated too!) >>>>>>>>>>

Strawberry with real strawberry fruit bits; Vanilla that's not too sweet on a huge waffle cone with whipped cream and cherry on top. The guy writing this article can probably finish this all in a few minutes but surely you can actually share it. The servings are huge I'm tellin you!

Well if you think that ain't BIG enough, take a load of this!

Chocolate ice cream drizzled with hot fudge, oreo cookie bits, huge chunks of brownie slices, whipped cream, chocolate-dipped cherry and chocolate covered wafer. If that does not bring you to the moon and back I don't know what else could give you a CHOCO high!

Got lots of friends?! How about this!

The Earthquake!

This is what 8 scoops of premium rich ice cream looks like with choco fudge, hot fudge, butterscotch, caramel, strawberry, fruit jam, marshmallow, mixed almonds, nuts, whipped cream and cherries on top! It'll give you that earth shattering feeling you can share with friends and family! But I'm sure someone out there can finish this in one sitting! :)

Quality wise, you would never even ask about it. Just look at the meticulous training they got from regional branch partners from Thailand.

It's the best thing that happened to Sundae lovers in the metro. For sure people will flock to Swensen's and get those well loved ice cream flavors... after all there are currently 27 flavors to choose from and more soon!

If Mall of Asia is too far from you, don't despair! The Eastwood and SM Southmall branch will open sooner than you think! ;) (heard from the grapevine it'll be this October!)
