UNIQLO 2023 Spring/Summer LifeWear Collection

Tuesday, February 21, 2023

Got to see the newest Uniqlo 2023 Spring/Summer LifeWear Collection a few days ago at Makati's Whitespace events place in Chino Roces.

For starters, they've managed to put in a lot of the clothes in color with very breathable material. As far as I know, Uniqlo has been working on that technology for years and it is really working for us in the severely tropical climate. Shirts, Shorts and Skirts, full on dresses are available for those who need pieces that work night and day.

For those who are also working in airconditioned and cold offices, they've got several full on jackets and hoodies that are in hues of blue, purple, creams and whites (even a few denims) yet still dressed up so you don't have to worry about those formal meetings.

About the clothing, they announced new tech in clothes that actually block UV rays. I mean, that's something absolutely amazing for people who adore the outdoors but didn't want to get skin problems right? Summer would surely be different, I'd love how that will develop in the near future.

The UT shirts have always been my favorite, but one of the artists that they featured were actually sick, I bought one of them right after the show (and consequently wearing it today!). I like the part where it says "Bless this mess!" or "I found the one my soul loves!", statement shirts and a few Andy Warhol inspired designs that would be so nice to wear during the season.

Aside from that, Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo were in the venue to show us the jackets, parkas, which Matteo loves. Sarah even wore a white number which I think is also from Uniqlo. For what it's worth, I really love the part where they are continuously working on technology that makes clothing environmentally friendly, have less footprint, and also benefit the larger populace.

I also like how they give us OPTIONS, something that most clothing brands regret to not do because of the sheer size of people who need to wear them. Congratulations Uniqlo!

UNIQLO Set to Launch JW Anderson Line on the 14th

Wednesday, October 05, 2022

It was certainly a fresh look at basics when UNIQLO showcased their Fall/Winter 2022 collection. It's a combination of new creations, useful basic clothing that is interpreted by different designers they worked with this particular season. It wasn't all dark and wintery, as a matter of fact, I kinda like what they did with staples worn by Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach and Vlogger Restaurateur Erwan Heussaff. Matteo Guidicelli also shared his favorites especially the jackets and athleisure wear.

I personally paid attention to the several Tweed Jackets, Plaids, Wool, mostly from the JW ANDERSON collection. I also loved the new UT shirts and the classic ones that are making a comeback with designs of Capcom and Sega characters like MEGAMAN, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pacman since this is also their 20th Anniversary.

The new JW Anderson line is also going to be unveiled on the 14th. Much of the clothes will reflect British architecture, the rustic flare and they're keeping it very minimalist. It's going to be functional, but won't stay plain earthy. They'll be doing colors and color blocking, a bit more modern than usual. The release will have 12 pieces for women, 8 for men and 2 accessories. You can visit their flagship store in Glorietta 5 or SM Megamall if you want first dibs on the 14th, you can also visit their website https://www.uniqlo.com/ph/en/contents/collaboration/jwanderson/22fw/ to see the whole line.

The holidays are near, you might want to spruce up that wardrobe of yours since it's going to be a little nippy.

A Decade of UNIQLO in the Philippines

Saturday, June 11, 2022

Had so much fun yesterday at the UNIQLO Flagship store in Glorietta 5 in Makati City. Press, Vloggers, Bloggers and Influencers were treated to first dibs on how they celebrate 10 successful years in the Philippines. While we were there, I was one of the few people who got to join games as they asked hints of the new collection they're releasing to commemorate the occasion.

Their thrust is having a UT collection that's ICONIC. They collaborated with brands that have been in the lives of Filipinos, because of course, they are LIFEWEAR. They then announced that the THE BRANDS UT PILIPINAS include JOLLIBEE, SAN MIGUEL BEER, NATIONAL BOOKSTORE and SELECTA. Much of them had the official logos of these brands, Jollibee had the bee logo in the front left side, San Miguel Beer had the San Miguel Pale Pilsen label on the black shirts. The one for National Bookstore had pockets with the classic red and white stripes design of the old National Bookstore logo. Then Selecta was a bit more colorful putting the actual Selecta trike with words TENENENN a couple times, a thing that these machines play when they're out on the streets and getting kids sweet treats these days! Which one takes your fancy?

Thanks to Myke Soon of MixofEverythingLifestyleBlog for the shots!

They are also doing a lot of promos using the Uniqlo app so make sure you download that as well. They have showed me a few CSR projects they do with re-used fabric from cuts made on alterations of jeans in the store. They sell them to local women who sew and buy the product back as bags, they were awesome looking! So really, there's no waste happening with this clothing brand.

Thank you to the good people from UNIQLO whom we were able to spend our afternoon with. I like the new UT shirts you came out with as you celebrate 10 years in the country, that's no small feat! Congratulations!
