Ely Buendia undergoes ANGIOPLASTY

Tuesday, September 02, 2008

Surgery again was done to my hero Ely Buendia

The manager of Ely Buendia confirmed Monday that the former Eraserheads frontman underwent another angioplasty procedure Monday morning following the band's Saturday reunion concert that was cut short by his hospitalization.

Buendia suffered from hypokalemia, a medical condition in which the concentration of potassium in the blood is low. He was administered with a potassium intravenous fluid for the said condition, they added.

Buendia, 37, had a previous heart attack in January 2007. He previously underwent two angioplasty procedures (a surgical operation where narrowed or blocked arteries are widened) at the Philippine Heart Center after doctors found at least two blockages in his arteries.

The Eraserheads, formed in the late 1980s, was the most successful Filipino band of the 1990s, and is widely credited for reviving the Filipino band scene. I on the other hand know they are the reason bands and the music scene is alive in the Philippines!

They broke up in 2002, but the members are still active in different bands.

Guy's I ask you to pray for my idol, my hero Ely Buendia! Thank you for keeping him safe God!

Scrumptious Seafood! ^_^

Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet by renowned Chef Brian Landry of Louisiana

WARNING: The stuff you are about to read would make your mouth water and make you further crave for the best seafood! Else, read on! ^_^

When the Gods and the Goddesses of touched the shores of my homeland, it only made one thing clear: they clearly like seafood. The wide variety of Scallops, shrimp, fish, abalone, octopus, crabs and others seen here in the pacific made every seafood lover's dream a reality.

3 Cheese Baked Scallops ^_^ Mmmmm!

I love seafood... my family does too ^_^ and we as a matter of fact never thought of wasting the opportunity to taste the best life could offer. We have our own family versions and recipes, most of which is passed on from generation to generation. Some well kept family recipes that touch down the table every now and then. Our favorite is oven baked/grilled 3 cheese scallops and the popular Calamares, its something good and something so scrumptious that my mom tries to make when there are important family gatherings.

Calamares Oh Calamares!

When you get to taste it, you'll really know that it's something so special... or maybe more than that! ^_^

I went ahead of the pack, I found recipes that can outdone our simple home made delights and possibly try our own versions of it. All located in one simple place called www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com. You can all visit the site and choose/vote for their favorite recipe and even get the chance to win the trip to New Orleans prize package.

The recipe I chose the best was Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet by renowned Chef Brian Landry of Louisiana. Saw the pictures and I've rated this the best! It boasts the flavor of local Louisiana Shrimp, spicy and flavorful Andouille sausage smothered in a thick white bean casserole.

You know me! so the spicier, the better so I'd really like to make this one... I like this compared to the others since it makes use of the richest local produce. Farming these nowadays are really easy, that would greatly be an advantage to anyone planning to only serve the "FRESHEST" and have it still sustainable! We will try this out soon of course... and make our mark in our family's history!

The Great American Seafood cook off picks the best of the best in the United states' recipes and converges them into one place. You can't miss this opportunity to taste the greatest in seafood!

Will it be Obama and Biden?

Or McCain and Palin? You choose!

H
ere's my 2 cents on the candidates for the US Presidential race... between the Democrats and the Republicans I will put my chips on the Democrats... Obama and Biden had the most comprehensive and complete package AFAIK. Obama getting internal country matters taken cared of with Biden getting the job with his large experience on foreign policy. Popularity wise they are ahead of the pack. We call people like McCain traditional politicians (TRAPO) here locally. Trapo means "rag" btw and is a monicker given to old politicians that stayed too long in the government... it also may or may not be good to be associated with the current regime of current President George Bush...it is also not a good term to be stricken with.

McCain also chose an inexperienced running mate that knows 0% on foreign policies and can affect the outlook on their party. I just hope women votes from the undecided Hillary Clinton supporters would go her way. That's a big IF btw.

With the recent developments on Hillary's speech during the Democratic convention that pushed for the support on Obama's candidacy, it's more likely that they (including hispanics, other ethnic groups) would still stick to Democrats... But they will be given the hard task of getting these undecided ones on their side. It is hard because Obama of course had given his remarks on Hillary previously that may be well detremental to his ticket. McCain in the upcoming Republican Convention would take advantage of this and try to woo Hillary supporters to his side. With all that and Oprah, I'd say I will still put my 2 cents on Obama and the Democratic Party. Watch the African American guy get to the Whitehouse come election day.
