KUMAGCOW'S Day, July 15, 2009

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

This evening I missed watching Ice Age 3 with the rest of the moderators at work. I guess I was so much tired so I over slept. Now I'm just staring at my phone with 10 missed calls and a lot of text messages from them, oh I wanted to review that movie! I guess I have to watch that at home instead because I have no one to take to the malls this weekend. I'm going out of town for a photo shoot so I'm gonna be quite busy.

I'm watching TV and waiting for the right time to take a shower so I can get to work. The show "May Bukas Pa" was being watched by my Mom and Dad. Well, lets say I can relate to them quite a bit because there are some incidents on this show that are remarkably similar to real life. This show should be commended on content, its really great to see TV is improving in the Philippines. Though I would have wished more movies to be shown than TV. It would really be nice to see that instead. I'm gonna check the thread and finalize the details of our photo walk this weekend so I don't have any hitches on Sunday. I have to go back early since I have work that day too. Lets just cross our fingers that I won't be late that day. Aside from that, the weekend shoot was nice. I got some pretty nice shots, but am currently post processing them. I'll be posting some of them later I guess so watch my flickr account!

Fantasy Football Like No Other!

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Whoa! I am so excited about this fantastic event for Fantasy Football Players around the world. Mark your calendars on August 27th - 30th because people are all going gaga over the upcoming Las Vegas Fantasy Football Superdraft . I would like to see my favorite experts on the first two days so I would be able to get the hottest tips and reviews on this great game my dad and I spend a lot of time on. It would be great to improve the player statistics and start learning more from the game masters themselves. We can also start to draft teams in this league in true blue Las Vegas style. Your jaws will just drop; mouth will water and drool while thinking of what an awesome weekend this will be!

I would probably want to stay in the world famous MGM Grand since the buffet is the best there, but the tailgate party will be held in The Mirage on the 28th. Oh sometimes we really just cannot choose huh?! The Mirage can convince people like me though as they will have big pool parties on the 30th and have Poolside Playmates as the main attraction. I mean, who can resist that and Rap Superstar FLO RIDA?! Airfare and hotel accommodations are also packaged specifically for this event so if you and your friends are planning to visit Las Vegas, this is the best time to do it.

The D60 KREW Out of Town Photo Walk!

It's going to be one great weekend for me because my D60 KREW are planning a photo walk in the south. Since we were just roaming around the metro the past few weeks, this will be our first out of town event. I'm sure I am not the only one excited! Details about the KREW's shirt are also being taken cared of by the gang. It looks awesome too!

Well not just that, we were initially planning to go on an East to South route but we would probably be better off going directly to the South Super Highway via EDSA since we are gonna have problems as nobody really knows the route from that end. There are some members from the Southern part of the metro who knows some of the landmarks there so we have a better chance of getting there earlier if we choose that path instead. Check out the itinerary put in the works put together by Vince Serrano:

1) Rizal Shrine, Calamba
2) Church of St. Peter of Alcantara, Pakil
3) St. James and Apostle Church, Paete
4) St. Gregory Church, Majayjay
5) Underground Cemetery, Nagcarlan
6) Mt. Makiling
7) University of the Philippines, Los Baños
8) Makiling Botanic Gardens
9) IRRI Riceworld Museum and Learning Center
10) Boy Scouts Jamboree

The route would need us to be in Cubao as early as 4:30AM. Then off to Calamba for about 1.5hours - 2hours. We will be at the Rizal Shrine which has the St.John the baptist Church and Calamba Plaza right beside it. After that we will go to LosBaños for for the other landmarks. We need to finish that in about 45mins. After LosBaños, we will go to Paete for about 1.5hours-2hours or Majayjay as an option because going to Paete and Majayjay would have different routes. We will have lunch in TAYTAY FALLS the same location, where most tourists usually buy rice and lechon manok in Sta CRUZ for picnic/lunch at the falls. That is just an awesome weekend huh? Can't wait to shoot and spend time with the D60 KREW!!!!

Bring Your Family and Career to Life!

Monday, July 13, 2009

I have been working for a multi national networking company based in Irvine, California for 5 years now and am enjoying life. The learning experience from my job was one of the best perks; it was more than what I imagined. I was able to work with the best Internet service provider weather it be Cable, DSL, fiber optic, Satellite or wireless connections. I was able to test these connections and only a few of them passed my standards. Not that I am obsessed in my on line life, but in this day and age I barely go out since entertainment has been already brought in my home by a couple of gadgets I purchased since I got Charter cable.

When I got this line a few years ago, I was not complaining of download speeds since it has been relatively fast compared to the ones I test at work for networking products. We own about 75 percent of the market so I am quite used to lease line connections that we often use at different parts of the US. It was also a lot faster than that of DSL lines because I can download a lot of stuff in a few hours.

I have media adapters that stream audio and video over the lines but I never had that much problem even if I resort to wireless connections at home. There maybe some instances I get disconnected but those were just caused by phone signal interferences which do not concern what I pay for. I just changed frequencies, phone brands then lo and behold the problems went away in a jiffy. I was mostly surprised about its performance on large file sharing and video streaming. I can call people elsewhere in the globe and do not even get lags of any sort. This was really great since it was the best option to get connected to my loved ones.

I even saw Charter on Facebook and added it so I can see the latest news or specials which would benefit me and my family. I never knew my simple life and career would get any better with Charter! But it really did!
